Hello Ms. Chin,
I am Ms. Henderson one of the Stony Brook students who is completing 75 clinical hours at the Lower Manhattan campus with Mr. Warily. First, I would like to thank you for securing a preceptorship placement for me. I have completed my first week of clinical hours withMr. Warly. I am not sure that Mr. Warly is meeting Stony Brook requirements for preceptorship and my learning objectives. For example, only one project was assigned to me for the first week I was there is to design a lesson plan for a bladder scanner, which I have completed in less than one day. Hence, the additional days I was there just sitting in Mr. Warlys’ office lessening to all the phone conference calls. Mr. Warly states that he is very busy, so I have suggested to him to place me with a nurse manager or a nurse on the floor so I can explore different leering venues. Mr. Warly again states that these people are also busy and have no time. I just feel isolated. I am there to gain knowledge and experience since I am there for only a short period. I have one more week to complete to achieve the 75 hours for this course requirement.

Thank you for your commitment and guidance throughout the clinical to help me become an excellent NP.
I completed my adult nursing degree. I began my nursing career in 2014 in primary care as a community nurse. I have continuously undertaken courses to improve my skill and knowledge in caring for patients. This has empowered me to deliver holistic evidence based care to patients in the community. I have continued to professionally update my practice and have developed comprehensive portfolio.
The following course is of a high interest to me because I like being involved in supporting and promoting someone in their rehabilitation. I received valued feedback
For this program outcome I chose my curriculum analysis paper from CUR 512, Curriculum Analysis and Planning. In this course we defined curriculum, the aspects that are considered when writing curriculum, the theoretical perspectives found within curriculum, and the goals of the curriculum. By writing this paper, I was able to focus in on a unit that I teach in third grade social studies to get a full picture of the curriculum. I was also able to see the complex issues surrounding the curriculum that I never previously noticed.
I am currently a second semester nursing student at The Valley Foundation School of Nursing at San Jose State University. I will be begin my clinical training at El Camino Hospital this upcoming spring semester.
The second week of my preceptorship brought many new experiences for me, and I can honestly say that each day I spend with my preceptor is better than the last. This week I focused on time management of a full patient load with continued documentation practice as well as admission and discharge procedures. I’ve had brief experiences in my past rotations assisting with discharge teaching and admission assessments however I have never been able to fully take charge and complete the process from start to finish, so this was a great learning opportunity for me.
UNC Lenoir Healthcare Rehabilitation center is a wellness rehab located inside UNC Lenoir Healthcare on the seventh floor. We are a fully staffed in patient acute rehab center. We offer rehab services and patients on our floor receive complete and comprehensive care from a multidisciplinary team of professionals. My interview today is with a seventy seven year old, white, widowed woman. She has lived alone since 2009 when her husband passed away and her son lives nearby and checks on her daily. This client was admitted to our rehab facility on 4/4/17 with a hip and wrist fracture due to a fall in her home. I will complete an assessment of the patient and her needs to help gather the necessary information for her care plan that we will go over
Hello everyone, my name is Sarah Hartford. I am a registered nurse currently working on a Progressive Care Unit. I started my nursing career after completing my ASN. I began working on an orthopedic wing of a local hospital. Shortly after, I moved to a progressive care unit where I feel my heart has stayed. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in nursing and began exploring new options. I opened my eyes to home health shortly after my son was born and following brain surgery for a Chiari Malformation. I began to miss the more hands on care that was available in the hospital setting, so I decided that when a local hospital was opening that I wanted to help establish this facility from the ground up. I am currently working full time here and going
The challenges that preceptors may encounter involves discrepancies in applying psychology theory to practice; lack of compassion; lack of time, and lack of finance. Other challenges may occur when stakeholders are not provided with the information they need to implement the program. The effective strategies are for preceptors to build a healthy preceptor-preceptee relationship. These strategies include effective communication, preparation for complex situations, appreciation, and acknowledgment, positive feedback, assurance of support, providing the right tools for nurse-patient interaction, and encouraging self-commitment. A successful preceptorship experience may positively influence preceptees to remain in the nursing profession in the
I have around 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse. I am currently working as an RN at PowerBack Rehabilitation, Garland TX and my primary responsibilities include but not limited to providing care to the patients belonging to the adult and aged groups as per physicians’ care plan and recommendations. I am also responsible for implementing nursing interventions to achieve the expected outcomes, evaluation
I have learned a plethora of information about medical conditions, patients, nurses, therapists, and insurances from working as a rehabilitation
Within our course textbook Cardillo First Year as a Nurse many topics are brought up that I would not have even thought twice about that are very important, especially for those of us entering our first year as a nurse. The fact that the topic of applying to a job within the facility you previously worked in as a student is ironic. I currently am employed as a nursing assistant on the medical surgical unit at Lawrence General Hospital and I am also completing my preceptorship placement at Lawrence General in the emergency department. I hope to attain a job at this facility once I have graduated nursing school and successfully have passed more boards. I've been forutante enough to have worked as an emergency trauma technician prior to my preceptorship placement within the Lawrence General emergency department.
As a future teacher in charge of my own classroom, I need to be prepared with a guidance management plan for the school year. This is when every part of the guidance strategies that I have learned in the classroom or used in student teaching will be implemented. Since it can be challenging to implement guidance in the classroom and especially in knowing what guidance strategies to use in certain situations, I as an educator, need to understand and know different strategy theories so when those situations do arise I can use the approaches that I have been learning.
