From researching and following this year’s presidential election, I have a few concerns for the future of our country. As a 9th grader, I will most likely be voting in the next presidential election. If president-elect Donald Trump addresses and fixes these problems, he will most likely have my vote. My top three concerns are abortion, gun control, and immigration.
My first concern is about the abortion laws. I think it’s wrong to kill an innocent child before they even have a chance to come into the world. Especially at 36 weeks because that is almost a fully developed baby! I agree that women should choose what to do with her baby, but the options need to be to choose to keep it or give it up for adoption, but there’s no need to end its

I don’t want all the guns to be taken away because people need to have the right to protect themselves on the streets. It’s not a gun itself that kills someone, it’s the person pulling the trigger. I think there should just be more rules and regulations for someone to purchase a gun, so crazy people aren’t able to go out and buy one. Also, there should be more classes and information available to those who buy and own guns about the dangers and how to stay safe. I believe Trump has similar views and doesn’t want to completely ban guns.
My last concern is on immigration. Trump has a famous saying about how he wants to “build that wall” to keep immigrants from crossing the border. I think this a decent idea, but I don’t know if Trump will ever go through with it. I think he should follow up with this wall building and also have more laws on background checks to prevent terrorists. Some people who come to the US are actually serious about becoming a citizen, so I also think he should have more opportunities for those people to become a citizen and legally enter the country, instead of just deporting them right away.
Overall, I think Trump has a good chance of actually making America great again as he campaigned. I will be happy to re-elect him in the next election if he addresses the concerns of many of my peers and I. I feel as if Trump will be a great president and I am happy that he
3 concerns about donald trump's presidency, everyone being treated fair, no over exaggerated commands such as a wall, and my third concern is will donald be a violent president? These are the things I am concerned about during donald trump's presidency. I guess we'll find out soon enough, right?
The main issues that need to be resolved are immigration laws, foreign policy, and taxes. Trump will resolve many of our country’s problems by decreasing the number of illegal immigrants and adding more border security. Also, there will be stricter requirements to get into our country. As for foreign policy, Trump will end nuclear deals with Iran, stop
Now that Trump is going to be the president some people say he is going to be a bad president. But, they don't even know if he will be bad because they have not given him a shot. This poll shows that most people think that Trump will be able to create more jobs, bring the country in the right direction, and even keep our country safe from terrorism. With that in mind there is hope for a brighter future.
Though Trump wants to “Make America great again” he needs to work on his facts first. The research I did on his statements made in the Address to Congress came back that most of his information was wrong. His take on our crumbling infrastructure may make Americans believe we are doing worse than we are when we are doing better than we were a couple years ago. His take on terrorism seems biased. There has not been a successful attack on the United States since 9/11. And last of all, his statements on the refugee crisis and illegal immigration was wrong. He claims immigrants from Mexico are taking up resources, but he’s not right. Now, take a look at what he claimed and the facts behind them.
The forty-fifth President of the United States, Donald Trump, promises to make America strong and respected around the world again. While many Americans remain skeptical of Donald Trump because he serves as first president of the United States who does not have any political or military background, Trump serves as an extremely successful businessman speaks his mind, and he intends to do anything to see the country succeed. American citizens must fully support President Donald Trump and his amazing plans for the country because he plans to improve immigration reforms, boost the economy, and repeal the Affordable Care Act to create a more affordable healthcare for everyone.
In the 58th Presidential Election both candidates face major criticism for their views on certain issues that the country as a whole is divided on. This year’s major Presidential candidates are Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. One of the major issues that is prevalent in this election is gun control and how each candidate views gun control, and also how they will handle it if they become the next President of the United States. The other major issue that is also prevalent in this election is the candidates’ views on abortion legality and whether or not abortion will still be legal once the next President takes office in January. This election can be described as nothing other than a confrontational one since the entire country is currently divided between both candidates. The current nominees are facing a lot of backlash and this election has been one for the books considering many people have referred to their most favorable candidate as “the lesser of two evils”. Without a doubt this election will be a memorable one no matter who wins due the fact that the nation is severely divided and the end result may result in even more problems within our nation.
Trump believes that Americans should be allowed to protect themselves when needed. This researcher believes the second amendment is a fundamental right that should not be taken away. Trump will protect this right. Furthermore, Trump believes: “you have the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. You have that right and they want to take it away. . . And they are taking it away, slowly but surely, they are taking it away.” Trump wants American citizens to keep guns and this researcher believes he will stand firmly for the second amendment to accomplish this. However, Trump also “support[s] the ban on assault weapons and . . . support[s] slightly longer waiting periods to purchase a gun.” This will bring safety and ensure that someone who wants to own a weapon has a clean record and is mentally stable. With Trump’s support of the second amendment and gun safety, this makes for a perfect balance between no gun laws and few. This stance should keep guns out of the wrong hands and keep America
The 2016 Presidential Election has finally ceased with Donald Trump as our President-elect. Some US citizens are happy and some not so much. I believe that Donald Trump has a good business background that will aid him in doing excellent things for our country. I also believe that he will choose well-rounded cabinet members that will back him and his ideas during this process as well as his terms while serving as the President of The United States of America. Donald Trump’s policies and ideas will affect my life because of his education view, crime and safety vision and his policy on improving infrastructure.
Around the world, people are anxiously looking toward the United States. Their focus is on the presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. With an unconventional campaign behind him, many are wondering what type of President he will be. Many of his plans are controversial and their effect on the United States unknown.
He promised to build a wall that borders Mexico to stop illegal immigration. Americans are tired of millions of people coming to America, and going on welfare. He promised to overturn the affordable care act (Obamacare). Trump also wants to improve the country deficit. One of Trump's promises is to strengthen the military and increase their salary. He also wants to stop federal aid programs that help illegal immigrants; such as welfare, section 8, WIC, and Medicaid. Tax big businesses that have taken jobs overseas. Americans should trust him because he is a successful person who created a multi-billion dollar
The biggest political issue these days is our "president" Donald Trump. He claimed that he will "Make America Great Again" but from what I see, we have been going downhill. Building a wall? Shouldn't we use that money for something more useful? He also wants to deport immigrants but, is that really necessary? People are worrying about what he would do next, what will happen to America in the next 4 years. He should be focusing in deporting illegal immigrants before even think about immigration who had been in jail. America is ALREADY great and we do not need Donald Trump to make thing
People kill people not guns. When the president talks about gun taking away guns what does it make you think about, does it make you think about a safer america, or would you be scared to live in america without a gun well if you ask me I would be afraid because if someone has an intention of hurting you they're going to do it even if they don't have a gun there intentions are still there so aren't you just taking away the good guys guns and giving the bad guys an advantage. If you were to be driving on your way to work and a drunk driver is driving and crashes into you are you going to make alcohol illegal or make it harder to get alcohol of course not because too many people would fight for what they want and you would surely lose your case
The United States is a very interesting country because politicians continuously rehash hot button topics every election cycle to do absolutely nothing once elected into office. Case-in-point, gun safety and our country’s laxed background checks. The topic is addressed every election cycle or when a domestic shooting rampage occurs, then with the camera rolling, our politicians will discuss their concerns, nothing will happen to resolve the issue, and then we will move forward until the next election cycle or horrific incident occurs. With this said; if our politicians are not willing to pass stricter regulations regarding gun safety and in-depth background checks, then why would they pass laws requiring mandatory FBI background checks
In 2010, invoking personhood, Citizens United allowed corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money under a shroud of secrecy influencing elections — empowering corporations over people. Our political leaders have reshaped our policies, our regulations, and laws to benefit a handful of corporations who now control every aspect of our food system. A broken system from the “round-up ready ‘terminator’ seeds” of corn and soy crops to the lean finely textured beef (LFTB) also known as “pink slime” served on our children’s school lunch trays. All funded by yours indeed. Our menu consists of items hand selected by an industry with a gluttonous appetite for one thing—profit. Corporations are monsters who continue to pillage and poison our
Donald Trump was sworn in as the president of the United States a little over 7 months ago. In his short time in office: Trump has passed an immigration ban, he has been aggressive on repealing and replacing Obamacare, he has reduced a large number of rules and regulations that have restricted companies, he has stood up to ISIS and North Korea, and the number of illegal immigrants has dropped by 76% (Washington News). .Americans all over have their own opinions about Trump, and many have been frustrated with him. Trump’s approval rating as of August 23rd stands at thirty five percent (CBS News). Trump overall has done a good job at focusing on most of his campaign promises among many different topics. So far, during his time in office, he has done a good job as president of the United States.
