This article is another piece of written truth as to how one’s social upbringing reflects their views and opinions. The average pro-life activist tends to be a lesser-educated individual who grew up seeing family life as a root to all means. Her parents were of a lower income bracket, barely finished high school, and more that likely her parents provided many siblings. She wed directly out of high school to a low income white collar worked and has many children herself. The pro-life activist believes strongly in the church and the fact that the main purpose of sexuality is procreation. These women were raised to believe that motherhood is the single most rewarding role for a woman. When they become …show more content…
When comparing the two views of these activists, it is clear to see how one’s social upbringing will effect their views. Pro-life supporters have always been exposed to the idea that no matter what, there is always room for another child in their home. They have seen their mother as being the homemaker and caregiver for all family members. These supporters feel it is their place in society to provide the nurturing for the rest of the family while the male is the working mate of the two and not matter how financially set they are, they will find a way to provide. Pro-choice supporters on the other hand have been raised in a higher social class where more than likely both parents, but at least the father, have a college degree. They have pursued college and have married mate equal to themselves. They share beliefs with their mates that they are equal beings and want to give their children the best they can. Hence the fact, they would rather not bring a child into the world without being able to fully provide for the child the way they were provided for. One can gather from this article that pro-life supporters, since raised without a lot of financial stability and are unable to provide much for themselves, are unable to see the reasoning to
Supporters of abortion are also known to be “Pro-Choice”. Abortion has been around for thousands of years. The U.S. Supreme Court Case; Roe vs. Wade in 1973 has made abortion legal in America. “A pregnant single woman(Roe) brought a class action challenging the constitutionality of the Texas criminal abortion laws, which proscribe procuring or attempting an abortion except on medical advice for the purpose of saving the mother’s life.”(caselaw.findlaw.com). The ruling was that fetus are not legal people, so they have had no rights or protection under our constitution.
Pro-life advocates also may argue that using tax payer money to fund something that they and so many others are so opposed to is wrong, that young women are not ready to make such a decision, and, finally, that abortions may even cause mental and emotional harm. However, these opinions are not accepted by abortion activists.
The human race is already overpopulating the earth and pro-lifers would rather bring in another life to this world than not bring one at all. Being pro-choice does not mean a person is pro-abortion. It just means they “advocate abortion over birth,” and try to prevent unwanted pregnancies along with ensuring families will have the necessary health care they need. No one has an abortion for fun. Everyone has their reasons and it’s none of the government’s or anyone else’s business what those reasons are. There are many women who get abortions because of their age, the fetus or themselves wouldn’t survive, and even as a repercussion of sexual assault. Are pro-lifers going to push safe sex, say how if someone doesn’t want a baby then they shouldn’t have sex and then watch as a woman struggles financially to support herself and keep a fetus alive if it wasn’t her choice to have sex in the first place? There is adoption but are you going to leave physical scars, such as stretch marks, on a woman’s body to permanently remind her that she was once taken advantage of or how she was once forced to carry the result of what someone did to her? At Planned Parenthood, before women choose to get an abortion they are given multiple alternatives and also counseling if the woman isn’t sure of her choice. “Abortion gives women the option to choose not to bring fetuses with profound abnormalities to full term as
Careful attention to the truth has never been standard operating procedure for pro-abortion advocates. Therefore, it should not be any suprise that half-truths, and misrepresentations, and many outright lies have permeated the pro-abortion propaganda campaign. Pro-choice is just a phrase used by people who know the absurdity of legal abortions and infanticide. Pro-life advocates have a more simple and straight forward approach: Pro-life is not the opposite of pro-choice, but the opposite of pro-death.
With more people not able to have abortions the risks of having abandoned and real new born mortality rates higher than the prolife reform would have a hard time fighting against prochoice philosophies, with this example. Prolife supporters hold close to having life from “defending human life , from fertilization to natural death,” or something along those lines, close as a main statement to protest against prolife , another statement that is basically the same for all prolife is “ fundamentally, there is no difference between unborn and born children.” (Clinton Wilcox, 2015,Prolifeblog). The state of which the prolife and pro choice people clash is because both feel life is important but one after it is born and one as soon as fertilization. I feel it is the choice up to the mother, up to the point the court case in 1973 that decided that there was a point in which the woman can have an
A mother might not be able to provide proper care for her baby after it is born. People who say they are pro-life seem to care so much before the baby is born. They say that all life is valuable and that having an abortion is equal to murder. But after the baby is born, they don’t really seem to care. They move on to the next person. If you want a child born, but not a child fed or clothed, then you should really replace the label pro-life with pro-birth. Because if you aren’t going to be the one caring for and raising the baby after it is born, then why are you so intent on it actually being born? If a mother who can barely afford to take care of herself has a baby she cannot support, then wouldn’t it have been best for the mother to have an abortion? You can argue all you want that even the bible says abortion is a sin, but you know what else the bible says? That wearing two different kinds of fabric at the same time is a sin (Leviticus 19:19). If you are going to cite the bible as a source in your pro-life argument, you really should remember that it wasn’t written by a loving God, it was written by man. A truly loving God would want what is best for everyone, and what one person perceives as best may not be what is best for someone else. Of course you can always try adoption, but the adoption process is long and can be hard for a single mother or teen mother. The
That is why I believe the pro-life movement is about the preserving of life even if some shouldn’t deserve to live in addition no one should be denied the right to enjoy life. One of the reasons I support these belief isn’t how injustice it may be however but by how my family has raised me. In the sense of how much I have enjoyed life with them there’s no greater experience someone or anyone can wring out of life. Other experiences have come from the real world such as war the devastation left behind over fighting that the people may not have wanted. While also seeing others who have committed crimes against humanity being executed not even letting them live their life to see the punishment of what they’ve done. Furthermore people who have gotten assistance in suicide giving no motivation to see the finally creating excuses to end their lives. Innocent babies who haven't decided on how to live their lives yet already decided by others. These examples shown, alter the light of how life can be seen giving my support to the pro-life movement. The support I give may be little compared to a whole group of people who disagree however every little bit
The Pro-life Movement is against elective abortion due to moral and sectarian grounds. They support its legal prohibition or restriction. The movement believes that human life begins at conception and that the human embryo, fetus has the right to life. Many organizations make up the movement so there is no single centralized decision making body. As of late the Pro-life movement has been creating and sharing undercover videos of individuals from Planned Parenthood discussing the selling of aborted fetuses to researchers for profit.
Pro-choice proponents usually lean towards philosophical outlooks to what defines life and usually believe that the fetus is not alive. Their reasoning is often one of the following: A fetus can't survive on its own. It is fully dependent on its mother's body, unlike born human beings,
Pro-life supporters believe it is inhumane to kill an unborn child; these supporters do not look at the big picture. Having and caring for a child is a huge responsibility not everyone can acquire. Half of all
Pro-life people are all the way for life with no exceptions. Unless the woman was raped, victim of incest and if the woman’s life was at risk. However, some pro-life also feel that just because the woman was rape and victim of incest it still does not morally justify abortion. They’re the ones who thinks about the constitutional rights for the viable fetus. It is not right to kill an innocent human being, who should have a birthday instead of a death day. Many people likes to think about the mother and only her rights but what about the child his or her rights, if we don’t fight for them who will? “We can accept that the embryo is a living thing in the fact that it has a beating heart, that it has its own genetic system within it” (Furedi).
The main argument of individuals who are pro-life is that the fetus is a human being and has rights. They consider abortion to be homicide which is unethical and should be prohibited.
Many activists for the pro-life movement have very gendered views of the world (Luker 1984). This world view is the result of their beliefs that men and women are inherently different, thus they have different roles in life (Luker
Pro-choice and Pro-life beliefs are very much the opposite. Both sides have strong arguments that they each believe is right. Pro-lifers trust that the child’s life starts before birth, and even as soon as conception (Merino 18). The Pro-choice side concludes that a child’s life doesn’t start until the birth (19). Some Pro-choice believers may say that they think it is a life in the womb, but just shouldn’t be considered a human being until birth (18). As Elizabeth Cady Stanton explained it, “When we consider that women are treated as property it is degrading to women that we should treat our children as property to be disposed of as we see fit” (“The All-Time Greatest Pro-Life Quotes”).
Being pro-choice is taking steps towards control. Women should have the option or decision when wanting or not wanting the child “it’s the women’s body she whom carries the child for nine months; male nor the government should have authority over whether or not those whom are pro-life. Those whom believe that the government
