Professor Fisher, in 2004, said that color affects human beings in many ways, on both the conscious and subconscious levels, every day of our lives. As Professor Fisher stated, color affects us so many times a day, that often times we don’t even realized it’s happening. Think about all the things you have done today, that in someway involved color. For example, think of a stoplight and what each color on it means; without those colors we would not have the technology of a stoplight and therefore our everyday driving wouldn’t be quite as easy.

Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright red and golden-yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive.

In order to look “frosh,” you have to plan ahead of time and make sure that you are already looking your best. What you wear to the dance and how you act determines your total outlook and how you want to be perceived as. It is critical that you know where to shop for clothes.

We all like to be noticed and complemented on how great we look, but most of us are on a College budgets. Looking great when you go out in to public is something that is very important. The reason why is because you never know who you may come across. Most people who attend Morehouse College have a great sense of style, but some of you can improve. There are many ways to look like a millionaire without spending the big time money. Everyone has a different sense of fashion and how to wear their own clothes. For example some people like to wear jeans other’s shorts. Some people like to wear high top shoes others low top shoes. And then there are some of us who don’t really care.

In this heavily pretreated patient population, pemetrexed, a 2nd generation antifolate agent produced an objective response of 26% (4/15) in patients with thymoma. 2 complete responses and 2 partial responses were documented, whereas there was only one partial response in patients with thymic carcinoma. Deborah Sullivan’s essay, “Social Bodies: Tightening the Bonds of Beauty”, discloses the different cultural traditions that require various methods of body modifications. Women should undergo such modifications to obtain social acceptance. Similarly, “Pressures to Conform” by Celia Milne discusses the effects of media and society on women, and how women view their physical appearance. The media gives women a plethora of choices for the perfect body and even provides ways on how to achieve them. There is no escaping. There is no excuse of not getting the ideal body that ranges from that of a stick-thin ramp

Within the world, color is important. Color allows the expression of the people’s inner, true self. Color allows the expression of society’s forced image onto the people. Color allows one to be honest and truthful, yet hidden and sheltered. Color is our personality and who we are. Color challenges how far we can step out of the norm while still being accepted. Color is our own definition of ourselves, and yet it is open for interpretation.

Different styles go in and out of fashion; the same goes for body types. For a long time there was a clear divide between which body types were seen as fashionable, but recently the divide has been vanishing. Lean bodies used to be seen as being more fashionable than curvy bodies, but that is no longer the case. Glamour laborers are rewriting history, just look to Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé who have become the face for a new age of fashion. This new age, dubbed “post fashion”, claims that individuals can wear their own skin just as much as they can wear fancy clothes.

To the right is a photograph looking through one of my contact lenses. Since it is hard to depict what I see without them in, this photo goes to show what it looks like through the lens compared to what my camera sees with “perfect vision.” Through the lens you can see a tree clearly in the distance which is normally a blurry green and brown tree like shape through my bare eyes. There are an abundance kids who have been afraid of not being accepted into college, or special programs, thanks to of their grades. This stress can consequently drive people into bad places, which can moreover make them feel as though they are not valuable enough. Garner and colleagues also noted a trend toward noncurvaceousness from 1960 to 1979. The bust and hip measurements of Playboy models decreased and their waist measurements increased significantly. These findings are consistent with those reported by Silverstein, Perdue, Peterson, and Kelly (1986) who examined the curvaceousness of models appearing in Vogue and Ladies Home Journal from 1901 to 1981 and of popular movie actresses from 1941 to 1979.
