As defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a proctor is “one appointed to supervise students at an examination” (Merriam-Webster.org, n.d). In the academic community, proctored exams are considered the optimum solution. Once a student takes an examination under the supervision of a proctor, the expertise has several advantages. Proctored exams validate the integrity of a student’s entire transcript. once a final examination is run by an objective proctor, it lends significant credibility to a student’s incontestable mastery and ability of the topic. When a student takes proctored exams, the expertise demonstrates that the scholar will perform during this setting equally similarly as their traditionally-schooled peers. Hence, The UoPeople regulated the procedures of taking proctored exams and applied a set of rules concerning the choice and the criteria of registering the proctor. (University of the People, 2016, p.44). Furthermore, a proctor must have adequate and reliable access to the internet, as well as email services, and has to be be able to ensure attendance with the student during the proctored examination. (University of the People, 2016, p.45). However, UoPeople has constraints regarding the proctor's choice. “The proctor cannot be a relative of the student, a student at UoPeople or an applicant, nor can the proctor have a conflict of interest or have any vested interest in the student’s grade or performance on his/her exam. Students are strictly prohibited from offering the proctor any payment or other benefit in return for the proctor’s willingness to supervise the exam.” (University of the People, 2016,
1. For my television commercial I used the popular Sham wow infomercial. According to the site the Sham Wow is “a washcloth, which will dry, and polish any surface. They are like a towel, chamois, and sponge all in one--except they're extremely absorbent and can be used over and over.” However, a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America gives Sham Wow a “C” and says it’s a normal towel so why have so many Americans fallen for the gimmick?
John Proctor was a farmer in seventeenth century Massachusetts. He was married to Elizabeth Proctor. John Proctor was a leader not a follower. He was a man that everyone in the town looked up to. Proctor was a both strong physically and mentally strong. John Proctor was an extremely proud man, and many were aware of it . John Proctor wants to have a good character and reputation and he sees how important that is.
“Beginning with the reign of Constantine I and the establishment of the Byzantine Empire, the Eastern Christian church became a tool of the Emperors. Byzantine Emperors and Empresses played a dominant role in the Eastern church and used the Christian religion to strengthen the Empire internally, to spread Byzantine cultural and political influence, and at times, to fortify their own power”
Elizabeth Proctor being accused of witchery by Abigail Williams has garnered the attention of all of Salem. If she is proven guilty, she will be sent to prison for eternity. Goody Proctor is known in Salem as a good Puritan with Christian values, but this accusation and her possible hanging could ruin it all. Abigail Williams, on the other hand, has gained power in the courthouse and has accused others. However, many rumors circulate the village saying that Ms. Williams is not the good Christian girl that she has recently been made out to be. I am here to deny or confirm these rumors for good and find out the answers from Ms. Williams by investigating and interviewing her.
In The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, John Proctor is a tragic hero. A tragic hero is defined as a person who is good and decent, yet he has a tragic flaw which leads to his downfall. In The Crucible, John Proctor is a highly respected farmer whose tragic flaw is pride. John Proctor plays a crucial role in Salem when the townspeople were being falsely accused and hanged as witches by a group of teenage girls. One of these girls is Abigail Williams, with whom John Proctor had an affair. John Proctor is a tragic hero because he is noble and honorable, he is very protective, yet his tragic flaw is that he had an affair with Abigail Williams.
Your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, last night, Abigail Williams accused Goody Proctor of an attempted murder by witchcraft. The charge included a needle in a witch poppet and one in Abigail’s abdominal. Today, I will prove Goody Proctor’s innocence of this malignant and malicious charge of attempted murder.
In “The Crucible,” a play by Arthur Miller about the Salem Witch Trials, we are shown the roles and fates of various characters, one of which is the farmer John Proctor. Throughout the play, John Proctor is shown to be an honest albeit hotheaded and stubborn man as he crusades to disprove the claims of witchcraft against his wife and other townsfolk.
I disagree with Ryder because in a way she is a villain. Abigail did so many things that put her family, friends, and others in danger. Abigail: Abigail lied to everyone so that she wouldn’t get in trouble but later on did. She also made her friends lie. “Now look you. All of you. We danced.” Abigail has done so many wrong things. She got Tituba in trouble, Elizabeth Proctor chained and thrown in jail, and John Proctor hanged. She told Hale that Tituba made her drank blood. “She made me do it! She made Betty do it! She makes me drank blood!” Elizabeth Proctor had to testify against her own husband.
Imagine a student-athlete gets accepted to Greenville University with a 3.5 grade point average and 30 on the ACT. The student is planning on playing soccer and has worked incredibly hard in the classroom and on the field to make this dream happen. However, the school can only offer 5,000 dollars per year in scholarships because they must offer the same 5,000 dollars to the student athlete who got a 2.0 grade point average and 16 ACT. Does this sound fair? Fair or not, this is the definition of equality. Greenville University operates on the idea of equity. Greenville University is focused on making it possible for every student to attend the university, no matter their grades, ethnicity, parent’s income or any other obstacle that may arise.
It is clear Ryerson University needs a better way to make education accessible to all their students. With the constant delays of the transit systems we have, and the rising costs to commute, students are skipping lectures. The best solution to this problem is starting VR enabled lectures. This will keep expenses low for students and save time that students struggle to find. VR enabled lectures are far superior to the alternative, which is living on campus. By living on campus expenses increase and you’re not in the comfort of your home. Also it is not guaranteed you will get approved to live on residence because of the limited beds available. Being a computer science students we already have the necessary knowledge to make this possible, as
John Proctor is a brave and courageous character in the historical play, The Crucible. The play is about the Salem Witch Trials that took place in Massachusetts in 1692. Genarlow Wilson from Ohio was release after doing 4 years of his state law mandated a minimum 10-year sentence for the crime he committed when he was 17. While Mr. Wilson was 17, he had consensual oral sex with a 15 year old girl and because of this act was later convicted of felony aggravated child molestation. Georgia Supreme Court would later rule that his 10-year mandatary sentence was "cruel and unusual punishment." Since he has been release from prison he has moved into college at Morehouse College while getting aid by the Tom Joyner Foundation, an educational nonprofit founded by the nationally syndicated radio personality. This foundation will be covering all cost associated with going to college.
UCM: CPSW received a call from Ms. Messerli reporting that she needs the lock number for her storage from foster provider family. She also stated that she needs the boy's cell phone back. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli that this writer will ask the foster provider about the phone and storage numbers. CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli to focus on her recovery and not to disrupt her children as well as the foster provider and if she needs anyting to let the CPSW aware of it. Also, CPSW reminded Ms. Messerli not to contact or call both children until the theripist approves it. Ms. Messerli stated that she will try. Howerver, Ms Messerli sounded unhappy and really upset about not contacting her children Nick and Alexander.
Throughout the play "The Crucible" by Arthur Miller the protagonist, John Proctor, goes through a major man vs. self-conflict. John Proctor lives his life thinking about the past, not about the future. As the play unfolds, all of Proctors sins are revealed to his closest friends and family. No matter how hard Proctor tries to just forget about how he has sinned; it always finds a way to become a huge impact on his decisions. John Proctor is one of the few characters in the play that actually has some common sense, which ultimately causes his inner conflict.
In order to maintain one’s dignity, one must assume the responsibility for one’s actions whatever the outcome. In Arthur Miller’s play “ The Crucible,” John Proctor is a flawed character at the beginning of the play, but by the end he redeems himself and pays the ultimate price because he chooses to act by striving to uphold justice for his wife, his friends and himself.
