Often, love song lyrics are written from experience about lost or unrequited love and trigger sentimental feelings that make listeners want to put them on replay. The common written genre I am analyzing is song lyrics for love songs. It is important to pay attention to this genre because a significant number of people listen to music every day but most likely do not know the true message of the songs. They are often simple enough for the audience, often teenagers or young adults who can relate more to these lyrics, to know every word – even middle schoolers can understand the lyrics.

The song “Promise” has huge absolute value to me, as well as a sense of ot being valued in and of itself. When I was younger I always had big goals and I still believe it, and I keep reminding myself of the message in the song when I’m upset or angry.
