I agree with some states making it illegal to drive while using a hand -held cell phone. While My Mom was taking my little sister to school she got hit on the side of her car because a lady in another car was on her phone and she ran the red light. My mom and sister got hurt during the wreck , My mom was in critical condition and my sister just had bruises on her back and arms. I Think making the law illegal to drive while using a hand- held phone is a good idea because it can be more safe drivers around the city or town. They're more accidents of the cause of the cell phones people are detracted , focused on the phone not the roads ,and there brains are stuck to the phone . For example my mom almost lost her life because of
Ruth Ellen Galgano: Once I was driving down 65 north bound and saw this lady on her phone. She was clam but as soon as the kids started fighting she became very distracted with driving. There are so many things that can and will distract driving we don’t need to have one more and cells phones are adding another problem to the long list that already exist. I would love to see the law changed on this issue.
Across the country, most states have laws prohibiting the use of cell phones while driving. Research shows that cell phone use while driving significantly
Daily, thousands of accidents are occurring around the world due to distracted drivers. Scientifically proven, distracted driving is almost, if not worse, equivalent to drunk driving. Drunk driving is illegal therefore the use of cellphones while driving should also be illegal and not permitted. There are far too many innocent deaths caused from irresponsible drivers that are selfish to others on the road. Every driver has the opportunity to make their own decision, life, or simple yet life changing, a text. Virginia recently enforced the law of cell phones not being permitted while driving; many have not realized this enforcement. Normally, police officers will not pull someone
On July 1st, California's laws against phones in cars were enacted. The first of the two laws stated that drivers above the age of 18 must use a device that is hands-free if they would like to talk on the phone. However, if they are in a medical or traffic emergency they can not use any device at all. Also, text messaging is unfortunately not banned except the patrol in California has brought to drivers' attention that they could be fined for irresponsible driving. In my opinion, I do think this law is a step in the right direction but I think that every driver should not be able to talk or do anything on any device while driving despite it being hands-free or not. This law may diminish the amount of accidents that are caused by phones,
According to the article "Hang Up and Drive" one new law in California requires hand free devices for anyone that wants to be on their phone and drive. I personally think this a good idea because you can really only focus on one thing so if you are on your phone you are more likley to get in an accident. In the text it states " Authorities hope that the new laws will reduce the number of traffic accidents. Studies have shown that cell phone use distracts drivers, which may increase the chance of having an accident. " Also " New York state, at least, hands-free devices do seem to make for safer driving. The state enacted a hands-free law in 2001, and between 2001 and 2006, accidents involving hands-free devices numbered far fewer than those
Using a cell phone while driving causes an overwhelming amount of accidents, injuries, and deaths per year. The vast number of casualties alone should open people 's eyes to the power this object has over their lives. Although the majority of people are in favor of the laws that ban texting while driving, sadly, some people are completely against these laws. It is beyond me that anyone would be opposed to laws that are made to increase our safety and decrease the number of casualties. I use to think nothing of the danger of texting while driving until my friend 's little brother was killed by a distracted driver, and a year later, another friend was killed from texting while driving.
Picture yourself sitting in your car at a red light. As you sit there waiting, you notice a car in the lane next to you completely speed by, and that the driver has a cellphone in their hand. The car disregards the red light ahead, and crashes into an incoming vehicle, killing not only themselves but the other driver as well. For reasons such as this, I support the idea that some states should make it illegal to drive while using a handheld cellphone. Driving with a handheld cellphone is a dangerous distracter that is just as dangerous as texting and driving, which is illegal. Accidents that involve drivers using a handheld phone can occur just as frequently as accidents involving texting and driving because the attention of the driver is focused on the
“Statistics show that 33,000 people wreck due to the usage of a held-held device” (The 25 Scariest). All states need to make it illegal to use a hand-held cell phone while operating a vehicle. Truth be told, there is nothing worth being on the phone while driving. Put it down and enjoy the view. Driving with a phone should be illegal because by being on the phone people put themselves and other innocent lives in danger, drivers also risk the chance of getting a ticket, and it affects their driving.
Another reason it should be illegal is because you could seriously hurt or kill you or someone else. For example say you drop your phone in the floorboard and you reach down to pick it up. You swerve off the road and collide with a tree going sixty mile an hour your dead. Now your moms home crying because her son is dead. Another example is say your driving down the road on your motorcycle and next thing you know thing you know this guy in a big truck swerves into your lane. Next thing he knows is your laying on the ground dead all because he wanted to be dumb and Facebook and text. That's why I agree its a good idea that driving while using a cellphone should be illegal. There are thousands of different examples on why it is illegal that why i believe it should be illegal in all fifty states. Remember it can always wait
I definitely think phones should be banned from use while driving because of multiple reasons. One being focus is taken off of the road and is on a small handheld device. Many people get into car accidents when driving, but now with the new technology the death rate in motor vehicle accidents has increased. I feel the need for a ban because I have experienced the effects first hand when We got into a car accident while my family member was on their phone.
I believe all states should ban all use on cell phones while driving. I feel by doing this, drivers may stay safer. There are already laws in some states prohibiting the use of phones. A driver using the phone while driving will become distracted, which takes their attention away from the road. If one is not focused on the road, then
I believe all states should enforce a law creating it to be more difficult for people use their phone on the roads. Although as of right now there are no federal laws concerning using a device while driving, many states have taken it into their own hands creating their own laws. For an example Texas has created a law if people use their phone is a marked school zone, they will then be fined 200 hundred dollars. Oklahoma has banned the use of phones for intermediate drivers that only have a permit. Arizona has banned 16-21 years of age from using their phones in work or school zones. And lastly Louisiana has chosen to restrict in school zones and while on the roads they must be respectable of others surrounding them. As of right now there are no other states that have put a fine on texting and driving many have had the thought of enforcing a law on
Cell phones are one of the most demanding products on the market. They’re used for calling, texting, emailing, checking social media, and even gaming. Approximately 1 out of every 3-5 drivers will text and drive at some point in their life. 1 in every 10 drivers will cause a wreck while texting and driving and critically injure themselves and possibly others. Texting and driving is obviously a very serious and dangerous thing, which is why it should be banned in all states.
Although some may disagree, I agree with the state law that using a handheld cell phone while driving should be illegal because it distracts drivers from focusing on their surroundings, potentially causing a fatal crash. Drivers should be attentive to what's going on in the busy street around them rather than their cell phones. Distracted driving has caused many deaths and injuries according to News Channel 3. Of course there are emergencies in which using a cell phone while driving is necessary but most of the time, the cell phone conversations can wait. Many people will regret ever using their cell phones while driving for there rest of their lives, while others will never receive the opportunity to be remorseful of their actions. While using a cell phone, drivers will be more focused on their conversations and less on the road,
Some states have made it illegal to drive while using a hand held cell phone. I fully agree with this law because, this will help save lives in the future. I think this law should be established all around the world, and help eradicate distracted driving. I am agreeing with this law because I think it could save thousands of lives, and prevent from teenagers being in so many accidents.
