The health care industry is an environment that is competitive and expensive. To be a patient receiving care the urgency is high and at a very critical point to trust a team of strangers with your care possibly even your life. On the other side of that coin, treating and interacting with patients is a part of the health care industry because providing care does not end with the physician. In the middle of these two different side of health care is where management steps in and takes over the middle ground.

Most of the prescribing procedure takes place in the emergency supervision area, where paper-based prescribing is most excessively used, so this setting holds an appreciable scope for electronic prescribing to be accomplished. E-prescribing has permitted prescribers to electrostatically transmit patient's medication particulars to pharmacy computers.

Disruptive technologies have played a significant role through the ages in leapfrogging the paradigms of healthcare systems. The advent of radiology, for instance, introduced a field of medicine, which transformed the practice of healthcare. Access to patient’s medical history – the care provider can access the patient’s medical history with just a few clicks rather than sorting through pages of a file. Today’s healthcare model is evolving toward a more holistic approach where every touchpoint with our patients is critical. It should be patient-centered solutions, which promotes better outcomes and preventive measures on how to support their needs. When a healthcare platform is designed based on specific trends, it is subject to the sometimes sudden and constant changes in those trends. Heath care and the delivery of health care services are always evolving with the introduction of new regulations, the advent of new technology and the fluctuation in reimbursement rates. Additional areas of variation include demographic composition and economic instability. In order for healthcare services to remain relevant, they must be willing to modify their model and design to meet the needs of the changing climate.

As a former employee of a mail-order pharmacy, I do not see the co-relation of direct clinical patient care to mail-order and e-pharmacies.
