Growing up during the Holocaust was a rough time especially for Anne. Growing up in a small cramped annex with strict rules and a family she hardly knew was not an easy transition from her living in her own home with some to no rules. To go into hiding Anne had to give up all of her friends and leave the school she was attending. It was like her and her family just disappeared. While staying in the annex for two years Anne has shown many characteristics of a survivor such as being friendly, becoming composed and having an optimistic attitude. While staying in the annex Anne has made a new friendship with Peter (Hackett and Goodrich). Them becoming friends made living in the annex more bearable, for both Anne and Peter. Anne has also improved her relationship with her mother. Their relationship grew by her and her mother trying to understand each other more. Her and her father’s relationship grew more also. Anne would always go to her father for advice or just to make her feel better when her mother or other people living in the annex would make comments about her and how she should be …show more content…
But when Anne and Peter are talking Anne brings up the topic on what they would they would do after, if they can avoid being captured and come out free (Hackett and Goodrich). While staying in the annex they celebrated Hanukkah. They all agreed not to get each other presents but Anne still made some small presents for everybody. Everybody loved their present and it all brought some joy to such a dark time during the celebration. Even through some of the darkest times Anne always finds a way to bring a little joy if she can. When they were captured Anne and Margot were sent to the concentration camp Anne was actually happy to be able to go outside again. Some people would have been somber about going into a concentration camp but Anne looked on the brighter side of things and saw that she was able to go outside
There are some moments where people get desperate looking for survival , but getting away from problems isn’t a good choice after all, because that wouldn’t really help them get out of the situation. The Frank family had the opportunity to have two years to spend time together but it made it harder for them to say goodbye at the end. Anne dies dies because the camp was terrible, but probably not going into hiding would made their lives in there better. It was probably more like a punishment for them leaving even though they were Jewish.
Have you ever been wondering about how life was like during the holocaust and WWⅡ time period? Well Anne Frank does. She was a Jewish girl that was 13 years old when she went into hiding to escape the Nazis. Anne was a very good writer, she kept a diary during the time of hiding. Anne Frank was a survivor during the Holocaust and WWⅡ by being a kind and caring person, being a smart and encouraging kid, and dealing with people that treated her badly for her religion.
After the Ghettos the Jews were sent to death camps. They were put onto cattle arts where they could be on their for days without food, water or aa toilet. The cattle cars were completely packed with people and therefore many people never walked out of them carts as they died due to disease, starvation, dehydration or suffocation.
In the autobiography The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank, was written during a chaotic time period in history. Anne, being a Jewish girl of a family of four, tells through diary entries how it was like for her during WWII. She lived in Holland, which put her along with her family at a risk of being taken to the concentration camps. Being faced with this problem caused her family to go to the extend of hiding for years in order to survive. They all had to adapt to a new way of living, one where they had no contact with the rest of civilization. Although this was a completely new lifestyle, it was worth it since the outcome will be more years of being alive.
Anne Frank was a fearless woman even when she was faced with her own death. Optimistic until the end, she was able to see the good even in a terrible situation. During World War 2, the Nazis in Germany were hunting down Jewish people. Anne Frank's family needed to hide because they were Jewish people. Anne was trying to stay optimistic even though it might be her last day on earth. First, Anne lets a complete stranger Mr. Dussel in her own room to sleep. Also, Anne loved to write good things in her diary. Finally, Anne thought that the Annex was like a summer vacation house, but in reality was in was an attic. Anne always tried to stay optimistic instead of thinking negative things. Anne had an optimistic view about life and always wanted to find a pencil to jot good thoughts down on paper even when Anne and her family were in danger.
The Holocaust was a time of horror and brutality. Anne Frank and her family were only a few of the many Jews terrorized. Anne was a brave and inspiring young girl in a time that was anything but pleasant.
Have you ever thought about having to go into hiding at such a young age? Anne Frank has been just 13 years old when she and her family went into hiding to avoid being sent to a camp by the Nazis. During the two years she spent living in an attic in the Secret Annex, she kept a diary, in which she called "Kitty". After the war, Anne's father, the only family member to survive the concentration camp the family was eventually sent to, chose to publish the diary that Anne had written through the years when her family was in hiding. She made the statement, "In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart." Anne felt this way even during the times that she has been through. I believe that Anne was hopeful, powerful, and strong willed.
Anne and Margot got along okay, but sometimes Margot got on Anne’s nerves, as Margot was the perfect one. Anne was constantly asked, “Why can’t you be more like your sister, Margot.” This irritated Anne because she was not like her sister, and never would be. Margot was slightly jealous of Anne, because she had a friend in the Annex. She also stated, though, that she didn't want Peter as a friend. He isn’t sophisticated and smart enough for her. Margot would help Anne out at times, but they still had a complicated relationship. Early on, Anne disliked and ignored Peter. As her story goes on, they develop a friendship and a relationship other than friends. Time went on, and Anne realized that she created an image of Peter that wasn't true. She felt she drew him toward her, and instead of creating a close friendship it went right to intimacy. Later on, she feels she doesn't know Peter at all, and can’t talk with him about the things she truly wants to talk about. She realized that he can’t be the friend that she wants him to be. She also thought that he didn't fit her type, as his personality lacked
I think that it was better for the world that Anne went through the experiences that she did. For her though, I’m not as sure. Without going through what she did, she may have been completely forgotten just as any other jew who underwent the war. If she would have survived the war, her dreams would have most likely never came true. Because of what happened, the world can understand the war better and will remember her every time they think of the Holocaust. To me, Anne has become the symbol of that time in history.
In the popular book and story of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl there are many themes present throughout her journal. It’s a touching piece of literature that puts things into perspective about family, warfare, loneliness, and selfishness. Her diary gives insight about people who are actually living in those circumstances from Anne’s point of view, resulting in a more factual story than fictional novels loosely based on true events. Anne goes through a lot during her time in the Annex, including tense arguments with her family, bombings, thieves, Peter, and Dussel moving in. The events may not seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but to a young girl, it’s a huge change of events. It shows a lot from her in the way she acts, Anne’s selfishness proving that stress and war can change people to be more selfish.
I think what we can learn is that the holocaust was a very terrifying for Jews, especially for Anne Frank and her family. In the text it tells about them hiding out and not being able to go anywhere. But, they said to themselves that it is better than staying in a concentration camps. Anne Frank’s diary entries show us that she actually tries her very best to be positive, even though she is scared to death and wants to panic. She stayed as come as she could, this was good. Anne would mention all the people that were nice to her, like her dentist. She would try her best to avoid any negative thoughts or feelings, and, stayed brave in a very dangerous situation. Anne Frank and her family were going through a lot, they were living in very bad
Anne Frank was a young girl of 13 when she received a diary she later named “Kitty”. This collection of pages became her only confidante, as she was forced into hiding by Hitler and his Nazis. Hitler was the antagonist of Anne’s story because of how much he hated Jews, Anne, before the summer of 1942, was a happy and joyful girl. She had loads of friends, and a handful of boyfriends as well. She was also good at school if you don’t count math. Because of Hitler, she was forced into hiding, where she had to be in silence, suffered from depression, and always lived in fear. Hitler and his Nazis shaped Anne’s life for the worse because of their hatred for Jews.
During her stay in the Annex Anne had to undergo an immense amount of stress and pain brought with the conditions of the Annex. Her diary was a place where Anne could release all her thoughts about the ongoing struggles in the Annex e.g. how mad she was at her mother, how small the Annex was e.c.t. Later in the story as her relationship with peter develops, sometimes she would go to the attic with peter to talk about how she felt and what’s on her mind. Peter voluntarily also let out his feelings on how he was coping, and how he felt. Along with that, homework, studying, sleeping and relaxing are also techniques Anne used to help her cope with the stresses of their
Anne was always a happy little girl. She wasn’t worried about a thing, even though she was going into hiding. During the war Anne went through the worst but, still thought of the best. Anne always wanted to be up and laughing. ¨I only want some fun, someone to laugh and clown around with.¨ Anne had wrote in her diary. When her and her family went into hiding, it meant they lost everything. She had to leave her friends and her cat. In the safe house, there was a boy named peter but
Have you ever had a hard time in your life? The Holocaust was a very tough time for the Jewish citizens, they were forced to either find a place to stay or they would get sent off to concentration camp, which was leading to their last breath. Anne Frank and her family, had to stay in an annex to try to stay away from the Nazi’s because they were Jewish. They had to be really quiet during the day or they would be heard from down below. However, there is one special girl that handled it very well. Anne Frank once said, “ In spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart.” Throughout all the obstacles that Anne and her family have faced, she is always looking for the good in people. After reading the diary, I
