Wow! It’s hard to believe our Quiz Bowl season is almost over. We have one last match in our regular season against Tate on Tuesday. On March 29 we have a tournament where we will have the opportunity to quiz against other schools and surrounding districts. This will take place during the school day at a local church building. Students will get an excused absence and we will get to enjoy lunch at Pizza Parlour. During our last practice, we had a discussion about what we thought could be holding us back as a team. Many ideas came up and we addressed each one. One suggestion was that we could practice 3-4 days a week instead of the 1-2 we have done. So Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Thomas came up with a plan/schedule for the rest of our season. We ask
The game will be held at Elk Mound and will also be senior night. The team has 12 seniors who will be playing. The Mounders faced two very good opponents in the first two games. They played Chetek-Weyerhaeuser and St. Croix Central. The St. Croix Central team was the defending state champion for division 4(Elk Mound

Understand that the coaches are the ones who make the decisions on the field about line-ups, who plays, and how much playing time is given. Since this is a travel ball team, I also realize that
"We have dang near the same bodies that we had in the spring. Young offensive linemen, which we probably aren’t going to count on very much. (Sophomore wide receiver) Jovon’s (Durante) back, he looks good. He is going to dabble in some inside receiver today. The tackles with (Assistant Coach) Coach Wickline, showed a lot of improvement in the spring. The rapport with Skyler and the receivers, it looks a lot better as well. Just continuing what we did in the spring. Just reps and reps and reps. All of those reps should turn out to be beneficial when we need them
What were the timelines you decided on as a team? The mini yard sale was cancel so we decide to do goodie bags and selling them to some houses where Abena leaves on November 1, 2015. On October 21, 2015 we schedule team
Just a reminder that our first practice is tomorrow at Rice School field from 5:30-6:30PM. The league requested that I ask all parents for clarification about kids' interests. It would be best to know which players would like to pitch and play catcher. I certainly do not want to have a child pitch or catch if he/she is not comfortable. Please let me know if your child has an interest in either position. If your child wants to catch, please ensure that he/she attends practice with a protective cup. Remember that Saturday is our parade day. Each child should be dropped at the "Industrial Park" at Honey Farms by 8:15 (at the latest). The entire parade begins moving by 8:30. I will be there by 8:00 to ensure our kids are chaperoned. Tomorrow

I work as a gymnastics coach at Trousdell Gymnastics Center. It is a recreational center that provides programs for all Tallahassee residents, specializing in gymnastics and exercise. The goal of this organization is to provide a safe and affordable program that keeps the community fit and engaged. They offer recreational gymnastics classes for boys and girls of all ages. There are also preschool and kindergarten programs for the younger children. On the other end of the spectrum there are adult classes that teach gymnastics and overall fitness. In addition, the gym offers classes for children with special needs. Finally, Trousdell offers a competitive gymnastics program for exceptional boys and girls. Three Olympic gymnasts have come through this program. Trousdell Gymnastics Center is named after a former Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Director Randy Trousdell, a man passionate about his community and the health of its children. Since it’s opening over 60 years ago the gym has impacted 500,000 children’s lives. I coach recreational classes for girls ages seven to fifteen years old. I begin every class by leading an extensive stretch and then we go to the events of the day where I set up stations for gymnasts to practice different skills. I end every class with conditioning to help the gymnasts grow stronger so that they can perform skills successfully. Trousdell Gymnastics Center coaches have a responsibility to these children. It is our goal to make the two hours a
Despite a few setbacks during the game, the middle schoolers relish the idea of coming back to perform at another game. One band student, in particular, Sam Adamson, appreciated the time he had to perform with his bandmates and awaits an opportunity to attend another Bowman game. The Bowmen football game turned out to be an exciting and educational experience for many middle school students there, and many hope there will still be a Bowmen game to act as an inspiration for 8th-grade students to join band next year in high
Norma received training in Cognitive Coaching and used this knowledge to provide instructional coaching support for her colleagues. Being a new role in our district, this did not come with a job description, however, Norma took the initiative to research best practices, create supports for her colleagues, and set her own calendar in this
Jumpstart Academy is a program designed to keep children active and healthy, while providing them with the necessary fundamental movement skills needed to excel in sports and games. I was delighted with my involvement in this program as it was very much exciting and exhilarating to see the younger generation evolve as not only athletes but also as members of the community. My goal within the program was to provide the youth with opportunities to achieve success through physical literacy. On a weekly basis, we would start off the day with a warmup activity to ensure the body and mind is prepared for the upcoming exercises. Each week was divergent from the previous one as there was a new fundamental skill to focus on. For example, week 2 would

Practices weren’t nearly as bad as two a days. I remember my first practice pretty well, we all did our stretches together and then she called us over for a little meeting before practice started. I had it a feeling she was going to talk about JV and varsity teams. My heart was pounding like a drum and my stomach was fluttering like there were little butterflies in it. Coach said “today I will be telling you the teams for this year,” she continued saying “first I will list off who made varsity,” and she began “ Brooke, Emma, Sarah, Ellie”………...and then she said it “Sophia” I was so thrilled with excitement, but was trying to play it off cool. Finally the practice was over, I couldn’t wait to go home and share my exciting
Players: remind the coach that if all kids got equal playing time, they all would have an equal chance to develop new skills and the team would be stronger.
