The Eshelman Building was built in 1872 in Clarence New York. It is currently located in its same position as 150 years ago where what is currently called the four corners. The builders of this piece of history are John and Jacob Eshelman and after that point their nephew, Andrew Eshelman took over. The building is 3 stories and each one had its own purpose. The first floor was the store and they sold clothing to hardware. The second floor was a 3,000 square floor apartment, or bed and breakfast where some political figures stayed during elections. There was an interior fire in the 1900s but luckily the beautiful exterior stayed intact for all of us to see today. The third floor was used as a stage for theater and entertainment and was

My favorite ENG 102 project was how radioactive elements released into the Atlantic Ocean affected marine life due to the Fukushima nuclear reactors. As much as I struggled with writing and formatting my paper it was very rewarding none the less. Interesting enough I found who I was when I was looking for research articles about the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. It was privy to me that I was fascinated about the bazar techniques used to harness energy through nuclear fusion and fission. When I began my voyage I believed that these technical details about nuclear reactors was not something I was going to enjoy, but necessary for my report. I was wrong. I was fascinated; I completely submerged myself in nuclear chemistry. I read papers
The Carnegie Building at Penn State has a deep and rich history. It was constructed in 1904 due to a $150,000 donation from Andrew Carnegie, a member of the Penn State Board of Trustees. The Carnegie Building has held various functions over the years, such as being the home to the school’s first library. After a renovation in 1940 and the moving of the library to the current location, the building became the office and rehearsal space for the music department. The Penn State Marching Blue Band was initially established because of another generous gift on behalf of Carnegie. The Daily Collegian, the school newspaper, housed its headquarters in the building from 1972 to December of 1989 before moving downtown to the
In this paper I will explain what it takes to be an Engineer leader. This brief over view will touch on some of the Engineer leaders of the past. You will see the positive influences that these leaders had on the Army; specifically the Engineer Corps, setting traditions, raising morale, even making jokes with the President, while they were in the service. These innovators that will be discussed continue to shape our military even today. Teaching our current soldiers about the significant contributions of our past Engineer Corp leaders would not only boost morale and increase pride, but give a better understanding on what impacts the Corps of Engineers had during periods of war and during peace time.
Traveling to the Buckner building is a journey all on its own. Starting out by driving through that 2-and-a-half-mile-long tunnel, the one carved into a mountain. Your heart will be pounding a little bit faster. Signs warning you of possible avalanches. As you are exiting the tunnel, entering into Whittier all your eyes can focus on is the massive concreate building in shambles, known as the Buckner Building, standing in back of the town like the ghost of an old warrior. Its lack of attention to the building is truly what will catch your eye. The looks of this building are defiantly eerie, but stepping into the building was nothing short of uncomfortable.
