Who ever thought that a man who came from humble beginnings could end up one of the most important people in the field of technology? Well, in fact, it has been done. A man by the name of Ray Kurzweil has rose up through the ranks and has become of the most influential and important people in the field of technology. Ray started out as any normal child did, and now sits at a staggering 27 million dollars net worth in U.S. currency. He has wrote accurate predictions about future technology, created inventions that are major breakthroughs in the medical field, and so much more. These are just a few of why he has become a major influence and role model not to just myself, but millions of people around the world.
Childhood:
Kurzweil’s parents were of Jewish background, and happened to live in Austria right before WWII erupted. Hitler, at the time, began to gather the Jews up and send them to various camps. The Kurzweils fled to New York before they were captured, and sent to a camp. Living in America, they had no worries of the Nazi’s, and eventually had a child. They named

He finished his high school years, and decided to continue pursuing his interest in computers. He was admitted into Massachusetts Institute of Technology after graduating high school. When he got to his sophomore year, he created a program that would help match high school graduates to colleges. This program presented potential applicants with a 300 question survey, and matched their answers with details from every college that was compiled on a data base. This data base eventually became a company owned by Ray, and when he turned 20, he sold the company to Harcourt, Brace and World educational establishers for a six figure digit. Kurzweil graduated after that with two degrees from Massachusetts in computer science, and also in
Major accomplishments he had in his lifetime is he invented the sciences of mechanics and hydrostatics. He also discovered the laws of levers and pulleys. He calculated pi to the most precise number still known today. He showed how exponents could be used to write bigger numbers. He also invented the first water pump to get fresh water out of the ground. It was known as the archimedes screw.
Elon Musk is arguably one of the greatest entrepreneurs that has ever lived. At the age of 12 he taught himself how to code. Then at the age of 17 he moved to Canada to attend school. After two years in Canada he transferred to Penn State where he received his economics and physics degree. He then started a company called "X.com".

Given the task of conceptualizing a man who truly changed the realm of technology as we know it today, my mind secludes one person. That person is Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer, now known simply as Apple. For this rhetorical analysis, I will be using three biographies/profiles about Jobs including “The Real Genius of Steve Jobs” by Malcolm Gladwell with The New Yorker (June 19, 2017), “Jobs’ Biography; Thoughts on Life, Death, and Apple” from NPR (October 25, 2011), and “Steve Jobs” from Biography.com (April 28, 2017). Precise attention to the audience, purpose, and tone, allows all three of these profiles to vividly explain and represent Jobs as the truly exceptionally minded man that he was.
Tim Berners-Lee had a pretty normal childhood. He had three siblings, two parents, and lived in London, England. But inside his little household, were some pretty big brains. Both of his parents were mathematical geniuses, and that really encouraged him to do well in school. And, even at a young age, he was fascinated by electronics and mathematics. Little did he know that later in his life, those skills would really help him.
Imagine waking up every morning to the the horizons of the red planet, or being able to zoom from New York to London in 29 minutes. These ideas seem like it would be the reality of numerous generations away. In actuality, both of the futuristic ideas could be normal in less than fifty years. This is all thanks to the brilliant mind of Elon Musk. He has, fairly recently, made himself a billionaire by creating out-of-the-box ideas that are wildly successful. When looking at Musk’s immense triumph in his multitudinous fields of work, it is important to analyse how he became so successful. Although many aspects played into making Elon Musk an outlier, there are three clear facets that contributed most greatly into making him so successful: these being his rough childhood and upbringing, his intrinsic motivation to acquire as much knowledge as he possibly can, and lastly his ability to think outside the box and solve problems differently than the average person.
He was a hero as he rounded up the smartest and the bravest to bring forth some of the most ground-breaking technology of all time. What had begun as a
Fidel Castro was a leader who formed the lives and advance of improvement of the Cuba from shielded from the America. In fact, I have found that many of the most influential people in today's society were those that stood out the most. Having a unique passion, or characteristics that gave them the motive and ability to thrive. Steve Jobs is a perfect example of being different and thriving because of it. He is often referred to as one of the most instrumental people in the advancement of technology, and was often praised on his unique ability to create futuristic technology. Yet, many do not know the full story, and do not realize that he was often critiqued on his “crazy” ideas and “obsessive” personality prior to his success. Yet, he never once took the remarks to heart and continued to make various advances in the technological field. Eventually becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time, and building a business that has stood the test of time. As Coco Chanel, a famous designer and businesswoman put it, “In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.”
At a young age, Musk was technologically savvy. At age twelve, he sold his first computer program, Blaster1, for $500, worth $1,200 today (“Elon Musk”). In college at the University of Pennsylvania (“Elon Musk”), while thinking about his future, he asked himself a question: "What will most affect the future of humanity?" He came up with a list: "the internet;
Albert Einstein is widely known for the atomic bomb, his studies in physics and medicine, also proving gravity was a pushing force. Einstein had a lot of adversity in his life, but he surmounts the negative connotations of him and other Jews. Einstein faced adversity during his life, he had to take several breaks in his research, but he triumphed over it by proving everyone wrong. Einstein went to university at the university of Zurich, he had many jobs, he was at risk during the holocaust and wars, he had to stop researching many times, he had home issues, and he never gave up on life.
Have you ever thought about how different your life would be if you didn’t have a smartphone or tablet? Without the hard work and creativity of Steve Jobs, former CEO of Apple, Inc., this life could be a reality. Born in 1955, Jobs took up an interest in technology at an early age (Staff). His talent allowed him to join many different companies, which ended up resulting in his life-changing job at Apple. Though he died in 2011 of pancreatic cancer, Apple is still dubbed by many the superpower of electronic devices because of the massive advancements that Jobs made to the company. Steve Jobs changed the world drastically for the better by creating state-of-the-art electronic devices while helping the environment, making major improvements
“The important thing is to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” ~Albert Einstein. In Einstein’s early life, his family moved from Germany to Italy in search for better work because they were struggling financially. Albert, aged fifteen, stays behind in Munich to finish his schooling, but soon either quits or is kicked out of his high school and follows his parents to Italy.
Bill Gates was well-known for his intelligence. Since childhood, he was a voracious reader, spending long hours poring over books. He blossomed in every subject in school, not only STEM subjects, those related to literature and drama as well. During his time in Lakeside School at the young age of 13, he developed his first software programme, a simple tic-tac-toe program in BASIC computer language. Gates then graduated from Lakeside in 1973, scoring 1590 out of 1600 on the college SAT test, whereas the average SAT scores was just over 1000. This intellectual achievement enabled him to get into Harvard University. Many professors have been impressed by this undergraduate’s mathematical brilliance. He proposed an elegant solution to what’s known as “pancake sorting,”, and his insights were published in the journal Discrete Mathematics in 1979. He once said to Forbes in 2005 that, “Microsoft must win the IQ war, or we won’t have a future.”. He himself has acknowledge the potential link between intelligence and professional success.
Bill Gates’ influence is widespread. He has led the technological industry of the 20th century. He currently holds the sixth position for the most
