What were the primary reasons for the “fall” of Rome? Ejercito, Marina The Roman Empire, a great influence to the United States and many other countries. The Roman empire had conquered many lands and had spread it cultural influences throughout Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. Many of Rome’s leaders are talked about to this day. Rome’s military is still is highly regarded as one of the greatest Armies during it’s time. Even with all this success of Rome, having many great accomplishments, Rome had it's fall. There are multiple reasons to why Rome went into decline, reason such as political circumstances, economic decline, weak military unable to protect its empire, and natural disasters that put Rome into an even more devastating state than it already was. These causes are some that lead Rome to its fall even though it was once a great place that had it's famous “Pax Romana” it's time of peace. First of all, one of the reasons to why Rome fell is weak political circumstances. Weak political circumstances would be leadership and Rome’s leaders actions, or the form of government that Rome would be under. For example, from the background essay it states, “Leaders in Rome focused less on debate and compromise and more on force to get their way… Rome eventually became more like a dictatorship” This tells about the type of political position
