Sheryl Sandberg has become the spokeswoman for women in Business. Her stances on the working women has become a social movement know as #leanin. There is no denying that Sandberg is an amazing ambassador for women in business, and encourages women to help each other. But what do we say about what happened to Ellen Pao? There've been countless articles in the tech and boarding news sites, so let's go through the Ellen Pao saga at Reddit. Pao was appointed interim CEO of Reddit in 2014. If you are not aware, Reddit is a popular social networking system where their members can share ideas. Reading around, 'interim' CEOs are general appointed during periods of turmoil and are hired for their expertise in a specific field. After going through Pao's education and experience: electrical engine, lawyer and completed an MBA - she fit the role like peanut-butter and jelly. Throughout the years, Reddit has faced controversies with their users facing death threats and publishing misleading information: one most popular was Sunil Tripathi who was wrongly accused of being a suspect in a Bombing case on Reddit. Subsequently some the Reddit user revolted and label her as a "totalitarian", further calling for her resignation which remarkably achieved over 200k in signatures! Unfortunately Pao resigned this month. This brings us back to many questions about women in leadership. There are many stories surfacing about why Pao resigned. Was she thrown under a bus? or did the company just give up on her too quickly? Pao has come out saying that the "trolls are winning".
