I took your World Humanities course (HUM2210) online during the Fall 2016 semester and completed the course with an A. I was recently informed of the HCC Student Trustee position and after reviewing the information, I feel this is a wonderful opportunity to serve the HCC community and I would love to be a part of it. The application process requires a letter of recommendation from HCC staff and faculty members. I am hoping you will be willing to write a letter of recommendation on my behalf for this position. During the Fall 2016 semester, I greatly appreciated your encouragement and feedback. Your feedback was not only encouraging but also pushed me to do better and be better. Some of your responses included “Your response to the post was
Throughout the past week, we have been reflecting upon the work that was completed throughout the semester. I found that my writing has improved
First off, I want to thank you for making this year and my first honors English experience fun for me! Though this year was challenging for me, it has also been extremely knowledgeable. From my freshman year to sophomore year, I can definitely notice the difference in my writing and reading. I can definitely see how much I have grown, and I am sure you could see these improvements too. Last year, I was in regular English and jumping from regular to honors was a huge step for me, which at first, I was not fully comfortable with. But as I got to know this year’s class and of course you, Mrs. Walker, I felt like I belonged here, in an honors English class. Throughout this year, I have learnt and improved at my skills of properly annotating texts, writing a proper claim, analyzing author’s style, and also analyzing rhetorical situations.
I am Writing to thank you for your generous $ 500 Textbook Scholarship. Thank you so much for this wonderful reward. This motivates me so much in my education. When I checked my email, I was so happy I burst into tear.
I have appreciated much of the process in which I have journeyed over the last few years. Many of my classes have not only taught me things, but have given me insight into myself, my children, friends and family. I have learned to apply some of the lessons learned with how I would react to issues, interpret scenarios and motivate myself.
I also just can’t help but be inspired by great leaders throughout history who saw a change and then made it happen, and although my knowledge is limited, I admire and am encouraged by them. Specifically I have learned so much about African-Americans’ struggle throughout history, and how it is still an issue today. Understanding the past of issues really helps with the way we perceive it today. I’ve also learned not to judge people, and to never write someone off based on a single experience. To be honest Mr.Peters, first semester I did not really like you. It was nothing about your personality, I was just struggling in the class and I projected my frustrations onto you. And although you gave me my first B, I have come to love and respect you as a teacher. Now, you’re my favorite teacher, and I’m sad that this year is over. I appreciate your constantly positive demeanor and the way you joke around
I really enjoyed your class. I've learned a lot from you and feel like you've gotten to know me well. English is definitely my favorite subject, and I am proud of my grade that I received in your class last semester. As you may recall, I decided to self-study both AP Literature and AP English Language this year. When I told people that I wanted to take these exams as a junior, they all thought I was joking due to the fact that AP Literature is one of the toughest courses to self-study. Surprisingly, I found the inspiration to take these exams from the assignments and works of literature that we went through in your class. Without all the activities we did in class, I certainly would not feel as confident with my performance as I am now. On the actual test, I wrote my AP Lit
I received really good feedback on my assignments which is always good to keep you motivated and continue doing your best.
To begin this email I would like to discuss updates since my application. I have become eligible and applied for my school's National Honors Society. I have received A's in every course I have taken last year and this year. My courses this year include three AP classes and and two honors classes. While many students lose their drive during their senior year, I have continued to work my hardest and challenge myself with rigorous cources.
The content that has helped me immensely throughout my semester is the feedback that I got on every major essay from Professor Michael Robbins. But the one that impacted me the most was the feedback giving to me on the research analysis essay. His feedback lead me in the right direction. After I turned in my first draft I felt like I didn’t even know what I turned in. After
I am interested in serving on the ISBE Student Advisory Council, as I want to be apart of finding ways we can fix the issues facing students in our Illinois public schools. I want to be a positive impact for change representing student voice across the state.
I would like to express my strong desire to be part of the Heritage Hall team which prides itself in values and ethics to learn, to lead and to serve. The more I have learned about the tradition of Heritage Hall, I have discovered the learning institution’s values and ethics are facilitated through teaching ingenuity, diversity, courage and compassion to serve the community. These core ethos are directly in line with my personal beliefs. Numerous discussions with people associated with Heritage Hall throughout the community have proven the schools prideful tradition. Especially, Jimmika and Jacquelyn Wolf whom truly embody the school’s spirit and ethos in every faucet of their personal and professional lives.
First of all, I would like to begin by saying how fortunate and blessed I am to call myself a Smith-Hutson Scholar. Not many people are fortunate to be able to get a higher education, but I can gladly say, I’m one of them. Education is my main priority and I enjoy learning, but it’s difficult to focus when your parents surprise you with a divorce. With that being said, I want to apologize to Mr. Hutson and the representatives for not performing to the best of my abilities this semester. I let the worst get the best of me, and permitted negative thoughts to interfere with my education. I don’t have many goals established, but my main goal in life right now is trying to rebuild my family. Becoming a police officer has always been my primary goal,
I am writing to you in hopes that you will add an extra ten points to my semester grade. I strongly believe that I deserve these extra points, for putting my hard work and effort into this first semester. With all the different assignments and short amount of time you have given my classmates and I, most of us tend to or try to turn it in on time maybe a little later depending on the assign work.
I would like to thank you for your kind and encouraging words. Before I started this class, I had one primary concern if I would be able to write at the graduate level. I always keep in mind that English is my second language and that ultimately keeps me on my toes. Thank you again for this motivating email. I appreciate your time and support.
I utilized the feedback provided by my instructor to improve my performance on subsequent responses and coursework.
