In 7th grade I thought I was going to hate 8th grade but I found myself wrong. I like 8th grade because I really find typing quite easy and fun so I really like exploratory. Also this trimester I got a ELT called "foods" which I really think I will like because you get to make foods. Some of the foods you get to make are cookies, muffins, pizza, and maybe even a pot pie. Although I like 8th grade classes what I don’t like about 8th grade is that I am one more year closer to high school. (I don’t want to go to high school for some reason)

My three-day weekend was packed. On Friday after my cross country practice my family went to a restaurant called Copper Kettle I got some real tasty wings and a fish taco which was amazing.

For school yesterday I had map testing but across the hall was exploratory and they where doing something that was loud and really distracting so I only got 15 questions done. After school I had a cross country meet. The meet was 2 miles long. The first time the gun went off for the start somebody fell and we had to do the whole start again. For the second time I fell but they didn’t restart it for some reason and I ended up having to keep going. I had to sprint to the front of the pack. ( I was in last place when I fell ) The first lap I stuck with the first group but then me and this other kid from Roosevelt named George broke away from the pack creating a 20-30 second gap. At the end I ended up beating George by 7 seconds!(1st …show more content…
On Thursday I left at 3:30pm and it was a eight hour drive to Detroit. On Friday my first game was at 11:00 and we played horrible and ended up losing the second game we played we played really good the first half of the game and we where up by three but the second part of the game we played horribly and we ended up tying. On Saturday we played only one game and we lost again. On Sunday we had our last game of the tourney at 8:00 in the morning and we played the junior St. Louis blues and this game we played really well but it ended up not even mattering in the tourney. That game I had the game winning goal and it was sick. On the car ride home I just slept most of the way and when I got home I shot pucks for a while and watched the Minnesota Wild game with my Dad. So in conclusion my weekend from a hockey standpoint was not very good.

Last night I had hockey practice. When we got onto the ice we had to skate 10 times around the dots because we had a horrible weekend of hockey games. After that we did a drill where we had to skate down the ice, once you took a shot on net you would have to backcheck the guy going next. We did this drill for about twenty minutes and it was really tiring. The last drill we did was a breakout, dump and chase drill. After practice we had a meeting about body language and how it can affect your play and others. On the drive home from Madison me and Blake stopped at Chipotle and I got a burrito that was pretty
8th grade. The last year at Ross Middle School. Being retrospective on past years has me thinking of my many accomplishments, and many fails I’ve had. From getting very good grades to the embarrassing moments. All the time I wish I was still in elementary school. You get to wake up earlier and do less work. Next year I probably will be wishing the same thing, but to be in middle school. I am excited for highschool next year, but also nervous. I am petrified of getting lost or walking into the wrong classroom. Many of my freshman friends tell me they love highschool.
Tryouts ended the day before and now we were waiting in line for cuts to see if we made the field hockey team.We were waiting in the halls of the school as each person went into a classroom one by one to see if we made it.
Last summer me and my family went to valleyfair. We got up really early because we had to drive to shakopee. It was a long drive and i fell asleep in the car. I hate long cars rides because they are always so boring, anyways when we got there we had to go through security and then go and get our tickets and wristbands. When we got in there we went on some rides and got food. All i ate that day was panda express. And i went on the wild thing and steel venom.
We started to move, going to my first championship game in a couple of years. It was a short ten minute drive to the rink, we got onto the highway, and we were greeted by traffic. I thought to myself, “Great, now i'm going to be late.” So my dad sped up and weaved in and out of the traffic, trying to rush me to my game. We finally got out of the traffic and I arrived to the rink. I got out of the car, blasting my music in my ears. Grabbing my bag, I tripped and got my pants dirty and wet with snow. Something bad happened again, I ignored it because I was trying to focus on the game. I walked inside the rink and I could smell and feel the cold ice. One of my teammates came up and said what locker room we are in. I followed him to the locker room and grabbed a spot in the corner and started to get my warm up clothes
It was a very cold winter day in December. I was heading off to a hockey game just like any other day. My dad screamed down the steps, "Ryan, did you pack your bag? We got to go!" My dad never wants to be late for hockey or feel rushed to get there. I woke up earlier than normal on this day in December. My inline hockey games were not typically early, but this day in particular, it was at 8 am. I skipped breakfast at home, but my dad asked, "Do you want something small from McDonald's?" I said, "Sure!" I enjoyed the hashbrown from McDonald's as I knew I would eat a bigger meal after the game.
On Tuesday, the day of the game one thing that I will never remember is traveling on a train or any other means of transportation when you are incredibly sick with a massive headache and potentially a fever is not fun and for the most part not advised. Because I was so incredibly sick, I felt that overall I enjoyed the experience of independence a little less than I would have if I was absent from this cold, but I didn't let it put a damper on my fun time. Waiting for the train in the bitter cold with a wind chill made the air seem it was down in the 20’s also does not add to the fact that I was sick and certainly did not help the situation. After getting on the train we started heading into the city around 5 o'clock to make sure we had time to get into the city and eat before the game
Today started great I got up around ten and was able to grab some brunch at the student center. Class today started at three so I had plenty of time to kill after I finished my meal. I deiced to visit the Ray to play some basketball before class began. When I got to the gym there were already several students who were shooting around and eventually I was able to compete with them in some two on two, then some three on three and we also played some knockout and
It’s the day of the Holy Apostles track meet for my 8th grade year and the air was very brisk and breezy. The only running event I had for that day was the 800m race. I started running the 800m in 4th grade. It was my best race and the race I liked the most. I had never won the 800m against these schools before, and I definitely wasn’t expecting to win that day. My rivals in this race were from three other schools St. Leonards, St. Joan of Arc, and MQS . The girl from St. Leonards, Sydney Bartz, was a girl who I have beaten and have raced against since I was in 5th grade. My other two rivals were from St. Joan of Arc and MQS ,Zoey Goodman, who was the girl who I have been up against since 5th grade and I have never beaten her because she has
n a sunday morning Elysa and I woke up at 4:30 to go to Traverse City to go to a softball tournament. We finally got there and we were very tired already. We practised then played our first two games and lost sadly, then played three more games and won those. Then we went on to our Championship game. We were all excited to play, but we were so tired f
Last place. 6th out of 6. Failure. Loser. All things you never want to see or hear. When I saw my name at the bottom of that sheet my heart dropped. I was at a figure skating competition, and after competing I didn’t feel great about my performance but I didn’t feel horrible. I had fallen on 1 of my jumps and messed up a little bit in my footwork but my far my spins were the hardest and I executed them nicely. Overall it wasn’t an awful program. Besides all of the other girls had fallen on the same jump I did. About 20 minutes later, this girl walks over to the wall with a clipboard, removes a piece of paper from the top, and tapes it to the wall. I knew it was my group so I walked over to check, my heart beating faster than ever. I looked
(I was going to post this earlier but I forgot) Thanksgiving break was really fun. On Thanksgiving, My huge family had the food at one of my aunt's houses. I'm surprised we all fit because her house is kind of small and most of my family was there which is about there was so much food and it tasted really good. I had about two plates of food. For desert, I had jello with cool whip and it tasted good.
Once upon of time there were these two boys that ran cross country their names were Amar and Will they both ran for Tupelo High cross country team, and they were the top 7th grade runners on the team. Will was a bit faster runner than Amar although Amar would run and train hard he just could not yet run as fast as Will but that would one day be his goal but for now that would have to wait. Competition season was fast approaching, our first real meet was the last Saturday of the month of August. The day of the race Amar was full of nerves because this was his first real race, yes he had trained but he had never ran against other schools. Amar thought to himself this is no Will, there are so many kids from other schools to try and
I found the documentary on Title IX to be quite enlightening. In all honesty, most of my knowledge regarding Title IX was from my Human Resources class. However, what I found surprising was the statistics involved, unfortunately, I can not remember the exact numbers, but it was shocking just how common and prevalent sexual harassment is nowadays. I was unaware of all of this, I suppose I’ve always been sheltered regarding topics of this nature. In addition, the fact that so many of people in the video were courageous enough to open up and share their past experiences was inspiring. However, with that being said, something that I believe was not brought but should have been is that the justice system plays a large role in this unfortunate
After a strong winter season, breaking all of my personal records from the previous season, it was evident that this was the time. I would practice every day past the point of exhaustion, past the point of pain and past what I thought my body could every do. However, success would not come immediately due to a twisted ankle that forced me to take off the first meet of the season. But in missing the first meet, it fueled my fire and came out onto the next meet ready to go, and it translated to success. Breaking all of my personal records in the first meet, I knew that this was the year to complete my goals from 7th grade. Quickly achieving all of the times I never thought to be possible, there was still the ultimate goal of breaking a school record. The season was nearing its end, and my relay and I had come close, but had not broken the record. Plagued by injury, my relay had its last chance to meet the goal of breaking the record, and the stage could not have been greater: the state championship meet. But luck was on our side, and I executed a perfect start which propelled us into an early lead, and led to my relay and I placing 5th in the state, and breaking the school record by almost a second. I had achieved my 7th grade goal, not by being good, but the luck of my team and I all being healthy at the same time, shooting out of the blocks,
I can still clearly remember that I was really tired after I ran the first 400-meter. Suddenly, It was a strange type of pain in the lower left side of my abdomino, which was like something is slowly and softly biting your organ, but I did not choose to stop because I have a crazy desire for that first place. Therefore, without thinking too much, I held both of my hands into fist and insert my fingernails to my palm in order to stimulus my nervous. It was the pain in my palm that carried me through that race, and I was the first place in the end. Nonetheless, when I turned around and faced everyone who was behind me, I was quite depressed. It was obvious that the high school members had the ability to sprint in the last 100-meter, but they did not. No one took the race seriously except me. I knew I might look silly and funny to them since I
