Q3. If my family and I were told that we would have to relocate, there would be several things that I would take with me. If I were back in the 1940’s, I would only really bring necessities. In the book, Elie explained to us what it was like to see how many objects and things that were once meaningful to someone, meant nothing anymore. In the story, the Jewish people hardly brought any of their belonging with them, I would fear that all of my possessions would be stolen from me. Considering what I would be going through, I would only bring certain items that I would in some sense need. I would not bring a whole suitcase full of things like movies, toys, etc. there would be no need for that kind of stuff. In my opinion, I think the Bible could prove to be useful. I think by having the Bible with me, it would help me through those awfully dark times, especially when nobody knew what would happen to us. It would be important to keep a strong connection with God. In addition, it would be important especially when everyone around me would be doubting their faith, I would be able to use and read the Bible to show everyone that God is with us. The Bible would be a great, it would help me maintain my relationship with God. In addition, the Bible would help me get through the horror and the madness of the concentration camps. To continue, it would allow me to pray for the hundreds of thousands who had helplessly died before me, I could also pray for members of my family that God may be with them. Faith would be one reason that would keep me sane. To explain this further, Elie had experienced horrifying things at a young age, placing myself in that position I do not know if I could handle it.
