Was Reign of Terror justified? From being alive to being dead. Was it worth it? The French Revolution lasted for 18 months but in just 8 months more than 20,000 were being killed including Louis XVI. Many of them were executed from suspicion or force to be soldiers but it made the revolutionary successful. The period of the French Revolution was from September 5, 1793, to July 27, 1794. Louis XVI was sentence to death due to crime like unfair tax system and having France be bankrupt. In a 10 month period which suspect enemies in the revolution were guillotined even innocents. In the Declaration of the Rights of Man, it states that "All persons are held innocent until they shall have been declared guilty and No person shall be accused, arrested, or imprisoned, except in the cases by law. Also, in Document E it states that about how watch committees of public safety was suppose to protect them. This shows that they are killing everything that's in their way including innocents. Soldiers leave also since their Government are doing horrible stuff. The Declaration of the Rights of Man are being disobeyed since they are killing more than 20,000 innocent people.

The second reason why the Reign of Terror was not justified was because they threatened them any many ways. They made people fight involuntary and there was a huge inside threat involving the vendee. Document C states that in the spring of 1793, a counterrevolution against the Republican government broke out. Not only there's a war outside now its inside. Also in document C, they used threats by using the draft. They forced men to join the military.
