Repercussions of Terrorism
On September 11, 2001, four American air flights were hijacked by terrorists destroying both the World Trade Center Towers, and a wing of the pentagon. With the media coverage showing Americans every aspect of the attack, the hatred grows stronger within our souls. The only option we have is hunting down those responsible for this, and making them regret all actions they’ve made against the United States. Peace can only be reached by finishing the battle they started. First we’re going to have to find and identify those involved. Only after that has been done can we start to send in our troops to strategic locations for proper military involvement. The one’s responsible should

The nation must come together as one and release any and all information that may help to control any further actions by these terrorists.
With some knowledge of who was involved in this massacre, the military needs to start placing troops where the battle is likely to occur. The best start to a good defense would be starting temporary bases in undisclosed locations, and increasing our number of soldiers on foreign military posts surrounding the countries we are involved against. This will make it that much easier to strike when the time is right. If the next move that is made in this fight once again hits us we will be prepared. Our main objective of this counterstrike must be to protect the lives of our citizens, and try and focus all points of attack to only hit the terrorists involved. These bases can provide so much information to help our cause, such as locations of the opposition, and information on offensive plots the terrorists are preparing. In the case of another attack they will be positioned to destroy anyone who challenges the authority of our nation.
The proper involvement of our Navy will be a strong hand for America to play. We will be able to have a full arsenal of air craft and troop transports placed in the right areas around the nations in question . The rockets carried by some of
In the following months and years, then president George W. Bush and the military began planning the retaliation. It quickly became clear that the president’s goal was not simply to defeat bin Laden and al-Qaeda, but to eliminate other terrorist groups as well. On September 20th, 2001 during a speech Bush said the following “Our ‘war on terror’ begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated.” (Bush, 2001)
The attacks dramatize the destruction and construct America as the wealthy super power it is, clearly these attacks were criminal acts and the attackers must be brought to justice through the Supreme Court and internationally.
By understanding the steps to prepare for countering and responding to a terrorist, the well-being of US national security interests can be promoted and the exposure to risk and susceptibility to experiencing harm can be efficiently managed for communities, families and individuals in the event of a terrorist incident. The welfare of US national security, citizens and property can be effectively safeguarded through the understanding of protection strategies administered collectively by local communities, families and individuals. Local emergency operations planning, family disaster planning, as well as self-protection planning each represent important protective measures, which serve to educate the nation and its citizens how to
On September 11, 2001 Terrorist assaulted America. Four planes were high-jacked and two of them were flown into the World Trade Center towers in NYC and another into the Pentagon in Washington. The fourth plane smashed in Pennsylvania before it achieved its objective in Washington DC. Inside two hours, both of the twin towers had fell. A segment of the Pentagon was extremely harmed. More than 3,000 individuals passed on in the assaults. Days after the fact the offenders of this annihilation were recognized as individuals from Al Qaeda, an Islamic fear monger amass situated in Afghanistan yet with cells all through the world. The high-jackers had worked out of Al Qaeda cells working in the US. Nobody knew whether more fear monger assaults were
First and foremost is that a response was without a doubt warranted, America had to send a clear warning to those responsible that justice would catch up to them. But the measures the government took resulted in more damage to the American people than the satisfaction that should have arose from carrying out the required justice. The invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan in particular are two critical mistakes that should have been prevented. Instead of fully invading these countries, we could have used all those intelligence agencies created after the attacks to go directly after the masterminds behind the attacks. The case for invading is further weakened by the fact that almost a decade later, and those extremists namely the Taliban and Al Qaeda still exist, and in them has arisen an even deeper evil in Isis. Another consequence resulting from the invasion is a huge loss of lives. During the attacks, almost three thousand people lost their lives, if those were not enough precious lives to lose, a decade after the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, America has lost an unbelievable six thousand, eight hundred and forty five brave men and women and over nine hundred thousand to injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan (Goodman). In retaliation to the 2001 attacks, some Americans have lost their loved ones because of a quick decision made by the government
This paper is aimed at outlining the events of the Terrorist attack against America, the results and actions taken by the United States Government in retaliation to the attacks. There is no way to legitimize terrorism, although deeply rooted in religion; there can never be a valid excuse to victimize innocent people. Terrorism is never easily defined and many individuals have an obscure idea of what it really is. Terrorism is a premeditated act of violence, geared at bringing about political change by intimidation; it is disruptive in nature and is intended to have an impact outside of its intended targets. Acts of terrorism are responsible for thousands of deaths, increased security measures and negative impacts to the budgets of many countries including America.
In this day and age, the term terrorism is more than just the use of fear as a means of coercion but includes the use of terrorism as a means of revenge and suppression, but how do we handle it? We have always used our military might in response to terrorism since it began in the U.S. but it seems as if nothing has changed. We make it look like military force is the only way to handle terrorism and any new tactic that doesn’t involve violence won’t have any effect. Truly, there are many other methods to handle terrorism but few that are best for it. Some may prefer Sara Kershaw’s method “The Terrorist Mind: An Update”, where she talks to Dr. Horgan about former terrorist who are helping by providing information about
In the last two decades, the United States has experienced disastrous terrorist incidents. Including 9/11, the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, and the 2015 San Bernardino shooting, these incidents have varied in the scale, location, weapon used but have all had the same goal; to harm Americans and put fear the minds of everyone else. Before September 11th, 2001, there had never been a large attack on the continental United States of America. Our first responders have new threats and must be put through rigorous trainings in order to try and minimize the risks.
Our country, the United States of America, has been shaken up by the current event that occurred Wednesday December 2, 2015. In our very own state, a shooting occurred in San Bernardino County. The massacre occurred in a holiday party where fourteen people were killed and twenty-one people were left wounded. The suspects behind this terror were a married muslim couple, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik who opened fired on their co-workers. However, they were soon killed in a gun battle with the police. In the article, “Obama Seeks to Calm Americans on Terror Threat, but Speech Underscores Challenges” by Michael A. Mamoli, it states that President Obama addressed the nation from the oval office stating that the shooting “… was an act of
Terrorism response, like any issue concerning domestic politics and international affairs, can be faced analyzing either causes or effects. Terrorists are usually motivated by political beliefs. Even if terrorists can take advantage of other particular situations such as economic difficulties and religious beliefs, the main purposes are always political. That being said, the right response to terrorism is prevention. Solving the problem at the root cause is achievable through stable political regimes and open and functioning democracies. As long as terrorists do not need to resort to violence because they have other means to make their voices heard, they do not represent a threat anymore. Since this process might be quite long lasting, an
Terrorism is a destructive force that divides and dehumanizes us instead of merging us. We are all human and every single one of us is entitled to certain inalienable rights that others should respect and appreciate. I think I have highlighted that terrorism disregards the value of life and in humanity, but it also contributes to several political, social, and economic consequences. It is left to the attacked country to finance the municipal repairs after an attack has been carried out; it is left to the country to pay for the investigative and defensive forces to search and weed out suspected extremists; and it left to the country to console and avenge the victims and their families. Furthermore, terrorism is connected to other deplorable crimes such as human trafficking, rape, sexual abuse, and murder. Women, especially in Middle Eastern countries where they have no rights, and Christians are major targets. In conclusion, terrorism is an undignified and atrocious practice that should not be condoned or accepted. As human beings, we are accountable for the treatment of others and must abide by a cohesive set of laws that further all peoples. United we stand, but divided we fall. It is up to the current generation to decide how we will respond to terrorism, and nothing less than total eradication of this blight is

Force plays a large role in how countries go about their international relations. A state with the ability to threaten force against other nations has a significant advantage over other states who do not have those same capabilities. Terrorism can be difficult to define, but the text attempts to specify terrorism from other acts of violence. The threat of terrorism is something that needs to be addressed by all nations. The ramifications of terrorism can be serious and can damage a nation in a multitude of ways. Terrorism and its ramifications need to considered by states when they are forming their plan to engage in international relations.
Investigating which groups and what countries are involved or complicit is a distinct issue from the question of retaliation, and I will leave this to others. We should certainly put some effort into investigation, but this is really the least of our problems. The fact of the matter is that this is a declaration of war against America. We have appeased these terrorist nations for far too long, and it's time to change that. Yes, we should attack whoever is responsible for this specific attack, but that's not enough. We need to declare war on and destroy any and all nations that are responsible for terrorism against America, and end this threat for once and for all.
Purpose: To inform readers of the effects the recent terrorist attacks have on society today.
