Rescuing Corrie’s life It was a late shivering afternoon, we collected the ferrets for dinner. I was driving to the hospital; Corrie remained lying down unconsciously in the back of the car. Now I will tell you what really happened to Corrie and I. It all began when Corrie and I went to have a little group meeting, located at the camp site in Hell. The group decided what to have for dinner and they all chose on ferrets but they had to choose two candidates to do all the hunting. Then all the members shouted out” DIBS NOT BE” except for Kevin and Corrie. So, then Corrie and I started heading off to hunt ferrets. Alongside us we carried a gigantic cage so the ferrets wouldn’t escape after being captured. After ten minutes of walking about, …show more content…
Our cage had been beaten up, from the ramming of the ferrets. They would run in to the wiring, in hope of escape. So far, we had counted 10 ferrets in our cage altogether. We had enough ferrets required for dinner tonight. We then started heading back to our camp. It was a long walk back, as we had dreaded away so far, in search of ferrets. It took as twice as much time to get back, as we had to carry the giant age back to camp. It was so heavy to carry, we even had some time to …show more content…
When we arrived at the hospital I got out of the car and opened the back door to see if Corrie was ok but she was feeling worse by losing heaps of blood. When I had found the rolling bed lying outside of the hospital I then pulled it in next to the car and put her on the bed. When I started rolling down to the hospital I then when I went inside the soldiers wouldn’t let use the hospital because when we looked at the soldiers they looked familiar as in we have seen them somewhere else. Then I realised that they were s=the soldiers that they shot Corrie. Then I thought of a brilliant idea which was to get a disguise of a young soldier. When we finished dressing up I then rolled the
As I began to hear the testimony, I recalled all the various wars that have created us into what we are today. Brother against brother, kings that ruled the land, and dictators that overtook anything they desired. Survivors from various disasters have had a chance to let others hear and feel what they have gone through when they were younger like us. Cesia Kingston, one of the many survivors of the disastrous Holocaust, shares her many experiences throughout her life. Some too precious to forget, but others filled with pain and sorrow. Through every word Cesia spoke, they filled my thoughts like a wave, but at the same moment I remembered the times when pain and fear overtook me.
I highly recommend Caroline Corrigan for acceptance to the University of Rhode Island. She hopes to study pharmacy in their great program. Caroline is an excellent, well-rounded student who strives to do the best she can inside and outside of school. She is a great example to others and a great leader. Caroline would be a wonderful asset to the University of Rhode Island, just as she is to her current school, Mount Saint Charles.
We fell out of the sky today. I don’t know where we crashed. Other boys were on the plane so they had to be around here somewhere, but there are no grownups—that’s what Ralph said. Ralph thinks we’re on an island and he’s been calling me “Piggy.” I don’t want him to call me that; that’s what the boys at school call me. He’s been making fun of my asthma too. Anyways, he said his dad is in the Navy and he’s going to come rescue us. Ralph spotted a shell in the water—I told him it was a conch—and I remember someone that had one and would blow into it and his mum would come. Ralph blew into it (it took a couple of tries), and then children started appearing. There were a bunch. There were these twins, Sam ‘n Eric and Jack Merridew and his choir.
The Hiding Place is on Corrie ten Boom, her family, and how they assisted the Jews when Germany invaded Holland during World War II. The characters of importance are Corrie, her older sisters Betsie and Nollie, her older brother Willem, and their father, Casper ten Boom, frequently referred to as Opa by his family and friends. The story begins in January of 1937, in Haarlem, Holland. Germany invades during the beginning of World War II, the German soldiers and Adolf Hitler 's goal was the extermination of Jews. Forced to wear a yellow star on their shirt to show they were of Jewish decent and risking captivity by the German soldier issues b simply walking around town was an everyday. This, among other intolerance against the Jewish people, enraged Corrie and her family. If one was caught helping in any way to hide a Jew, they also were taken captive. Corrie and her family did not care. Her father once said, "I 'd consider it an honor to give my life for just one of God 's chosen people." In addition, some of Corrie 's dear acquaintances were of Jewish decent. She wanted nothing but to keep them away from harm, whatever the consequences.
The whole football team got lost. Before we started hiking coach said to go to the lake on the back side of MT. Scott, so we all got to water bottles and started hiking. The path we were on didn’t go that far, it was only about 100 yards long. When the path ended we split up into groups and coach just said to get to the lake. That’s when we all got lost and the rescue started to look for us.
There was a loud bang on the door. I sat up right away along with the other 13 people in my room. A soldier dress in head to toe with his uniform along with a winter jacket. He threw five pieces of bread on the floor and told us to go to work before leaving. The bread only got split upon nine of us; I was one of those nine. I had noticed a young boy did not get a piece so I gave him mine. The boy looked at me with a blank stare and took the bread from my frangile bonny fingers. I stood up, buttoned my shirt and adjusted my shorts. Under that slats of wood I slept on, I hid a scarve that I stole from a dead woman. I pulled it out and tucked it in my shirt so no one would notice. As I stepped out the door frame I felt a chilling breeze up my
Today was the day we were heading back from Hell. It has been an amazing five days with, Kevin, Corrie, Fi, Lee, Robyn and Homer. I was the only one who was allowed to drive the Landie. It was Dad’s orders and I followed them. It was really weird on the last night of our camp there were these low flying planes with no lights on. They were flying so low that we could see the marks on them. The marks weren’t ours. By the time I’d finished writing that down it was time to go. We’d finished packing that Landie and started to head off. I had a gut feeling that something wasn’t right about those planes I just couldn’t put my finger on it. We were home before I knew it. Something was wrong the dogs weren’t barking. When we came
Dictionary.com defines loyalty “characterized by or showing faithfulness to commitments, vows, allegiance, obligations, etc.” This definition provided shows that you can be loyal to an object. Can we come in please?” A Stevie responded by saying “No, you cannot come in. This shelter is reserved for only me and Lil Glory.” The giraffe said “Come on, we wanna see what you got bro.” The two is still refusing to let him visit the house. The giraffe keeps asking them to see the fort five more times. He and his friends got upset and they start to destroy the house using a pickaxe and their loot. “I hear heavy banging sounds surrounding the shelter.” Unfortunately, the giraffes have a long neck that makes the destruction very effective. Stevie and Lil Glory tried to rebuild their shelter, but they destroyed most of it very quickly. The two used what they have to destroy the savage giraffe but it was not effective. They got severely injured and ran to a nearby house. When they went to the house, they found a legendary pickaxe to destroy the giraffe. The two used it and the giraffe got injured and ran away to a different
Corin's Pov~ After I stormed out of my room at the pack docters went outside and found the truck that had my things in it and drove back to my guest house. these people really need to learn not to leave their keys in their vehicles. Before May of 1940, Cornelia Arnolda Johanna ten Boom would have said her life was uneventful. But then everything changed. World War II started around September of 1939. The ten Boom family was not Jewish, but they had a strong moral and could not stand the ways the Jews were treated. The German Blitzkrieg ran through the Netherlands in May 1940 and mistreatment of Jews started in the ten Boom’s town a couple months later (ten Boom, Sherrill, and Sherrill 27). Corrie ten Boom was an assertive woman who is credited for saving hundreds of lives during the Holocaust through her acts of courage, faith, and forgiveness.
And then, the fox huffed and puffed and blew the crummy house down. Goddamn, I would’ve just socked that corny wolf. At Least I would’ve claimed
¨Be back in a few minutes¨ said Brian Schrader of Point Pleasant, NJ. But instead he was back ten seconds later to his car with his wife and three daughters, Katie, Sarah, and Allie. He then excitedly said “Girls Girls Miranda Cosgrove is in there, in the restaurant! He had just gone in to get something but this is not what they had expected him to say when he came back out.
“I lost my baby girl.” Losing her daughter due to heart failure was one of the most difficult things Larrie had to go through at just 28 years old.
Be inspired by the Susan Boyle story. At 48, she signed up as a contestant on the show Britain’s Got Talent. Her modest appearance did not fit the typical profile of the young, glamorous, up-and-coming singer seeking exposure through a popular talent show. But when she opened her mouth she shocked the judges, audience, and viewers by unleashing an amazing vocal range, and nearly brought the feared judge, Simon Cowell, to tears. That performance set the stage for the launch of Miss Boyle’s international career as a recording artist and performer.
