Phoenix also symbolizes a mythical bird; she has “the regenerative qualities of the bird are seen in Phoenix’s determination each time she suffers a setback,” Like the bird how it gets reborn again Phoenix keeps on getting up from the challenges and keeps on going just like getting reborn again. That is why the author named the main character Phoenix because she is like the mythical bird the phoenix in many ways even the description of Phoenix gives symbolism of her being like the bird. Phoenix wears a red rag to tie her hair and running underneath her skin “a golden color” [welty1274]. espite their small size, sea dragons are carnivorous animals and therefore have a purely meat-based diet. The sea dragon uses its pipe-like snout to suck its prey into its oddly tooth-less mouth. Sea dragons hunt crustaceans, plankton, shrimp and even small fish, using their camouflage to their advantage. Sea dragons have numerous natural predators in the south and western coastal waters of Australia but are rarely even spotted to the elaborate camouflage of the sea dragon. Those few sea dragons that are unlucky enough to be found, are usually spotted by large fish. As with sea horses, it is the male sea dragon who care for the eggs once they have been laid by the female. The female lays around 250 eggs onto the long tail of the male sea horse.
Out of the 24 animals possible for a class pet, i have chose the bearded dragon. The bearded dragon is a magnificent lizard that can have the most appealing colors, with its spikes growing on the bearded dragon they are not as harmful as they seem. They are becoming one of the most popular pets in the UK right now. The horns on its face and body do look frighteningly ferocious but its is actually just a part of their skin and is used for intimidation. The bearded dragon seems almost perfect for a group of kids!
Welty describes Phoenix as having “eyes blue with age” (95). The reference to aging is symbolic towards that of the ancient bird. The bird ages to be thousands of years old, only to be infinitely reborn from its own ashes. The legend itself has also been known for thousands of years. These two ideas of age and time help to express the old age of the woman in the story. Welty also states that “Her skin had a pattern all of its own of numberless branching wrinkles and as though a whole little tree stood in the middle of her forehead” (95). Using the tree to describe Phoenix’s age is creative and symbolic since legend has it that the bird nests in a little tree in order to set itself afire to be reborn again. Welty’s creativity helps to not only communicate the old age of the woman, but reveal hints to the ancient bird’s story as well. Welty goes on to style Phoenix
This collection of fashion illustrations is formed around a tribe that does not exist in today’s society, however will exist in the future. The second stage of her journey, the author shows Phoenix’s endurance as she stumble upon a dog with a lolling tongue while she was meditating. Every once in a long while there comes some piece of historical literature that is well worth the sometimes boring and prolonged narrative that is usually accredited as being history. While the Internet is replete with such historical online pieces, Sunny Y. Auyang's Dragon and The Eagle: The Rise and Fall of the Chinese and Roman Empires is not one of them.
Dragons have always been a significant part of Ninjago. A dragon was introduced for all four original ninja (Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane). Later, the dragons migrated to the Spirit Coves and combined into one four-headed Ultra Dragon. This dragon was soon used by the Green Ninja, Lloyd Garmadon. The dragon has been for ages a symbol of power, strength and mystery. As we can divide the world into western and eastern cultures, we have two different types of dragons as well. There is the Asian one, the more positively described, who has great power, immortality, activity and good fortune. And the European one, closer to my culture as I am from the central Europe, is evil cold-blooded and always an enemy of man. In most of the legends, stories and tales, was this dragon provoking people to fear and misery. Imagined is a mystic bloodthirsty, fire-breathing creature from the time age of medieval Europe. The word “dragon” reminds me of something I am really afraid of. My deep worries trapped inside me. They are not possible to be defeated in one day, week or month. At this moment my biggest concern is about my future college. And that is best described by the dragon called Kyo.
