The best villain to me is step mom of rapunzel. She wouldn’t let her go see the stars that happened on her birthday every year. But then we find out the they are for her because her step mother stole her and it's in memory of her. When Flenn came to the tower where she stayed Rapunzel smacked him with a pan. They had a plan if he took her to see the northern lights that she would give the tiara back. When the step mother came home and Rapunzel was nowhere to be found the step mother got mad and tried to find her. She told the creepy twins that were arrested that if they help her find Rapunzel that she would help them find Flenn. So the night the Flenn took her to see the stars, and the twins showed up and took Flenn. After that rapunzel …show more content…
And that throw him back into a mirror and he broke the glass. Flenn took the glass and cut off almost all of her hair off. The stepmother couldn’t live without the magic of rapunzel’s hair. So the fact that he cut her hair, it actually killed the evil stepmother. She was like a ghost in some way where she like only stayed alive because of the magic of the long hair. The reason why is because she almost killed Flenn. The evil stepmother was like a witch, she couldn’t live without the length of Rapunzel's hair. Because when Flenn cut Rapunzel's hair the stepmother turned into the grey color and fell then disappeared. The evil stepmother wouldn’t let her out because of her hair. The evil stepmother could have been lost and the which inside her could have died. The evil stepmother wouldn’t take the chance of losing her. The man with red eyes had the weird feeling in him were he could easily take over you, like he did Charles Wallace. The man with red eyes basically stole Mr. Murry with the tesseract. The man with red eyes locked him in the storage thing were you could only get in with the special glasses from Mrs. Who. The man with red eyes took over Charles Wallace making him just like him. He fed all sick and unhealthy people to
Gothel learns of Rapunzel’s secret lover in “Rapunzel” when Rapunzel makes a comment about Gothel being much heavier than the prince. In Tangled, Mother Gothel discovers Rapunzel’s disobedience when she returns to the tower, only to find Rapunzel gone and the hidden bag with the crown. Gothel becomes resolved to find Rapunzel and bring her back before she discovers anything that would make her doubt Gothel. When her attempt to convince Rapunzel to return fails, she instead decides to trick Rapunzel, who has fallen in love with Flynn, into thinking he abandoned her in an attempt to regain Rapunzel’s loyalty. This attempt works, and Rapunzel returns with Gothel to the
Cinderella has changed so little over time that it seems we’re still in the 1700’s listening to Charles Perrault. And yet it remains of the most popular fairy tales read to children. The role of women continue to be either the cruel, evil one or the good, docile one while the prince continues to be the saving grace of the helpless girl. The skeleton hasn’t changed much as well. A damsel in distress, saved by a knight in shining armor, who falls in love with her and they live happily ever after. Does this sound familiar? This sentence might as well be a fairy tale. We’ve seen this over and over in Cinderella, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.
In contrast with the Grimm version, the punishment in the Disney version is more of an emotional punishment. Whereas the Grimm version had a physical punishment. The only punishment for the stepmother and stepsisters is that they just have to see Cinderella get what they wanted, which was to marry the prince. This is extremely hard for them because that was what they wanted the most and now they have to see their step sister and maid who was “ much too dirty to be seen” (Grimm) get what they wanted. They are probably also pretty angry and upset about what happened. It is noticeable in the film that they are all furious that Cinderella got to become the princess. The Disney version made this the only punishment in the story because the punishment in the Grimm version was too gory. The Disney movie is directed towards children so they could not make it too gory, but they also had to teach the lesson. This version did a good job exemplifying the theme, however the punishment in the Grimm version is just more effective, as noted before.
The best villain I know would have to be Darth Vader from Star Wars. He kept on trying to kill Luke Skywalker and Obi-wan-kenobi. He tried so hard to fight for the droids they had and so he could get Princess Leia. He is also mysterious he will not show his face until the end and it makes me and other people think what his face looks like. He also kept it a secret that Darth Vader was Luke’s father “ I am your Father.”
Like all fairytales, Rapunzel has a history that extends far earlier than the 1800s when it first transcribed by brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. However, Rapunzel is a tale that continues to be re-written and re-interpreted even today. From the 1970s with the feminist revitalization of fairy tales to the early 2010s with Disney’s Tangled (2010), this timeless tale continues to engage its listeners. In 2015, Katie Kapurch of Texas State University revisited Rapunzel with an eye on its more recent modernizations. By starting with Anne Sexton’s poem “Rapunzel” from her 1971 collection Transformations, Kapurch analyzed the lesbian elements of the tale in order to examine the 21st century Tumblr culture that “ships” Tangled’s Rapunzel with Brave’s (2012) Merida.
The best villain I think is Mother Gothel. I think that because she took Rapunzel from her real home just so she can look young and pretty. Many Disney villains try to get their way, but Mother Gothel’s methods were especially abusive. She was murdered both Rapunzel and the mighty Flynn, Gothel was actually pretty charming, so in an a dark and twisted way, it’s easy to see why Rapunzel would have fallen for her ruse for so long. Then she had the audacity to pretend she was Rapunzel’s mother and she was held in a tall, inescapable tower in the middle of nowhere.
A character that is most definitely considered a villain is Jadis although they call her the White Witch. The White Witch was a tall women who was dressed in all white. The White Witch was capable
The Damsel is exemplified many times throughout this fairytale, specifically with the seclusion of Rapunzel. In many adaptations, Rapunzel has little to no experience with the world surrounding her tower. She fears escaping the tower out fear of the
Like the introduction, the main part of the tale is also composed of three distinct parts which form a short story on their own. A clear beginning, a central story, and an ending exists. The opening of the main part is concluded after the prince, although enchanted by Rapunzel’s singing, gives up his plan to pursue her when faced with a barrier: no entryway to the tower in which Rapunzel lives. When the prince enters the forest a second time, he is a changed person – he now has a motivation to act on his desires for Rapunzel. The prince is no longer a man who easily gives up; he is eager to form a plan for entry into the tower, and at the same time, the life of the sheltered Rapunzel. She too undergoes a
Disney is a name most households know. The Grim Brothers were a household name. They tell them same stories sometimes. They both want to help children but they go about it in two very different ways. Disney gives good and happy ending fantasies. The grim brothers give reality no matter if it was happy or evil. They both help children but are they the same? Let’s look at the some of the differences to see.
Cinderella held on to what her mother had told her and put up with everything her step- family was making her do. Cinderella always did what she was supposed to do, not once did she stop short of finishing or try to fight back. Cinderella kept her faith and believed that what her mother had told her was the truth and that life would get better. Eventually life did get better. By keeping her faith Cinderella was able to get all her chores done and get dressed for the ball, with the help from some creatures. If Cinderella wouldn’t have kept her faith she wouldn’t have dance with the prince and the prince wouldn’t have fallen in love with her. Cinderella wasn’t self-centered and believed if she was a good person she would be rewarded and in the end, she was able to live happily ever after with her prince. The exact opposite can be said about the step-sisters. The two sisters were awful people telling Cinderella to do their dirty work. When the prince came looking for the owner of the shoe the two girls would have done anything to fit the shoe. Anything is exactly what they did, one sister cut off her toe and another cut off her heel. The girls “hearts were foul and black” (Grimm 117), because of this they couldn’t have a truly happy life. In the end the two sisters had their eyes pecked out by birds. Cinderella found the deeper meaning to her life by being a self-less person and the sisters did not because of
The enchantress wants Rapunzel because of the spell to make her stay young. Unlike the story, Rapunzel befriends and falls in love with a thief. Yeah, totally different from the typical prince in stories. The thief takes Rapunzel to a kingdom that she doesn’t know shes the princess of to see the lights shes always seen from afar. The enchantress tricks her into coming back to be with her.
Who would have thought that a woman would hit a man with a pan and fall in love with him? Rapunzel in the movie has better characteristics than the Rapunzel in the story. Rapunzel in the movie has the best self-defense moves, but she never knew that the bad guy was right in front of her. The Rapunzel in the story had barely any sense of what is good and bad. Rapunzel in the movie has better scenes.
She had to muster up a lot of courage throughout this whole journey to face both her mothers in one day, but the thing that pulled her through that day was determination. She takes the matter into her hands, whether it fails or not she persists through everything and to get over any hurdles. Even when Rapunzel teams up with Jack, she’s the muscle of the operation. She’s witty, and
Ad Rapunzel continued with her journey her symptoms such as her “pet” pascal. Pascal is a chameleon that Rapunzel often confined in as if he were actually interacting with her, which is only a further sign of hallucinations that reinforce the diagnose of a schizophrenic. Rapunzel throughout the journey mental struggled with understanding what was real, and what was a fantasy that she had made up in her head. A schizophrenic often distorts reality so when she was painting on the wall she couldn't distinguish what was real and what she was dreaming about such a the floating lanterns. Originally Rapunzel was convinced that the floating lanterns were stars in the sky and painted them as such on the wall because she did not know that they were in fact lanterns, and not being to make this clear distinction is a symptom of her schizophrenia caused by her isolation.
