It is emphasizing the leader should be mature enough to throw oneself into the dilemma as the one struggles to solve it. People today believe that to be powerful you have to be known and rich. While that may be partly true, an individual is powerful if they possess the ability to show responsibility, courage, determination, and initiative.

Everyone claims they are doing it yet so many leaders and employees lack the concept of accountability. Accountability is a subject that ranges through every spectrum of life. Accountability is hold each person responsible his or her own actions in the given situation, especially when we know the circumstances. From a young age, every person must accept responsibility for decisions that he or she makes. As situations arise that must be dealt with, people have a duty to deal with those situations. In many ways, the act of living itself is an act of ultimate responsibility. In Robert Penn Warren’s classic novel, All the King’s Men, the central characters of the novel all have to deal with the consequences of their actions, although many of the characters try to avoid this solemn duty of life. Through analyzing the actions and inactions of the central characters, many important lessons on responsibility can be derived from the novel.

If you really want to do something, you will work hard for it.” Being driven allows people to stay on their track until they get what they achieve. In Macbeth by William Shakespeare, the main character Macbeth was motivated to become the king. In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Jack kept his goal of becoming the leader of the island, and stuck with it throughout their time on the island. Although intelligence allows one to be in power, motivation is more important for attaining power because it allows one to keep trying until they achieve what is desired.

Responsibility is a key component in establishing a person’s character and a vital part of human existence. Of the three definitions the Oxford Dictionary provides, the one of most relevance is; the opportunity or ability to act independently and take decisions without authorization. This definition is particularly important because the decisions a person makes without the influence of others essentially denotes a person’s character and displays who they truly are. Throughout life, numerous opportunities are brought about which require a person to take responsibility and make the appropriate choices. Responsibility in a person is a must as they can be more trusting and dependable if they have even the slightest amount of responsibility unlike those who don’t have any they can be lacking in many things and most people will see them as drags on society. Not only that, but they seem to have negative impressions with everyone else as they do not really help contribute to the betterment of mankind but that is how most people act in today’s world. But they still seem to go on and make the best of the day that they can. Responsibility is hard for a lot of people, it puts stress on you and makes people think you’re dependent so they might start asking more from you.
