Revolutionary Changes In The 1920s

During the “roaring twenties,” there were many different events that went on that either caused revolutionary or traditional changes. However, from information of occurrences during the 1920’s, we learn that revolutionary events were more beneficial than traditional changes were. The KKK, Birth of a Nation, Aimee Semple McPherson, and the Scopes Trial all present examples as to why our country in the 1920’s should’ve focused on revolutionary changes to progress our society and homeland. Henry Ford, Harlem Renaissance, Charles Lindbergh, and Flappers are all examples as to why revolutionary events were more beneficial in progressing the country. Traditional values are less advantageous because they do not help progress and traditional ideas often lack innovation. …show more content…

By fighting against equality and the rights of citizens that they deemed inferior, they were continuing the “old” ways of life. They felt that the country was going in the wrong direction with their more inclusive laws and programs. The clan claimed themselves superior against all minorities, very similar to the way of life before World War I. They continued their destructive behaviors and ways of life. Aimee Semple McPherson also presented a way of life that was more traditional than revolutionary. Aimee was a very popular major religious icon. Many people would come just to hear her speak. She did shows and became the first woman to preach her beliefs over the radio. It seems as if being the first person to preach over the radio would be revolutionary, however, she continued to preach the same beliefs that have been taught for many years.
