Comparing two things is like trying to find a flaw in an object. Contrast is different than the rest, or it stands out. Rikki Tikki Tavi is a story written in a book and played as a movie. Rikki Tikki is a mongoose. He fights off snakes and he protects his human family. At first Rikki gets lost by a wave of water, but then he gets taken by a nice and friendly boy named, Teddy. Teddy and his family care for him and watch over him. Although the movie and book have similarities, but they both give different details.
In the book Nag and Nagaina talked for a long time. Later that night, Rikki was about to kill Nag, but the Father of Teddy instead. Chuchundra sings a song about the death of Nag. Nagaina is angry for what happened to Nag. So Rikki

Then, Rikki Tikki killed Nag by himself, and Nagaina gets mad and tries to go and kill Teddy and his parents. The next day Darzee sings a song about how Rikki killed Nag. Later,Rikki smashes Nagaina’s eggs but, one. Darzee tells him that Nagaina is going to kill the family. He runs to find her as she was getting ready to strike at Teddy. He threatens Nagaina to fight for her last egg. Nagaina fights Rikki Tikki and they rumble into a hole. Everything's still and Darzee thinks that Rikki Tikki is dead. She sings his “death” song. At the end of the song Rikki comes out of the hole happy and triumphant. So in the movie Nag and Nagaina have a short talk before Rikki kills Nag, but in the book they talk for a long time. The book says Nag got shot by Teddy’s father. In the movie Rikki killed Nag himself. Darzee bragged when Rikki killed Nag in the movie, but Chuchundra bragged about Rikki in the book. The movie and the book say Rikki stilled killed Nag and Nagaina. They still have the same characters and Rikki Tikki almost died in the same hole with Nagaina. The book and the movie both talk about Rikki Tikki saving the garden and killing Nag and Nagaina, but slightly different in the way they both tell the
Rikki-tikki recognizes an almost hidden snake caused by it’s similar color of the ground that he hides upon. Dust snakes have as deadly of a bite as cobras and their small size comes as an advantage, allowing them to turn unexpectedly in any direction. The battle between the mongoose and snake is what begins the trust of Teddy’s father, and makes Rikki-tikki a savior in the family. This scene also leads to the death of the two other snakes, Nag and Nagaina by giving Rikki-tikki the confidence to battle the other snakes. Which allows the critters to feel safe at home.
Between the two mediums, the conflicts between characters are comparable with minor variations. The main disagreement in the story and the movie is the rivalry between Rikki and Nag and Nagaina. Rikki’s and the cobra’s clash began as soon as Rikki went out to explore the garden. He met Darzee, the tailor bird, and his wife who was mourning the loss of one of their babies “because it had fallen out of the nest and Nag ate it.” (Kipling) Another dispute is between Rikki and Chuchundra about Chua’s comment “that Nag is everywhere.” (Kipling) A thrilling clash of rivals occurs when Rikki goes to the melon patch and smashes all of Nagaina’s eggs. Notwithstanding the similarities of the mediums, a difference materialize in how Rikki comes to face Karait. In the book it states “It gave him confidence in himself, and when Teddy came
Nagaina is the main villain in this story. She is very evil when she first tries to kill Rikki-Tikki in the garden. Then a little later in the story, she finds Rikki-Tikki’s owners/family and threatens to kill them! Rikki himself says “Now I have Nagaina to settle with, and she is worse the 5 Nags.” (24) Nag is her dreadful husband that also fights Rikki. Nagaina is very
Teddy and his family had Rikki for quite some time, and he was curious around the house. In the movie right before bed Teddy was taking a bath Rikki was climbing on the side of it and fell into the tub. This is a similarity of both the story and the movie. One difference is written in the story that “Rikki nearly drowned himself in the bathtub, put his nose into ink on a writing table, and burnt it on the end of the big man’s cigar.” (Kipling 144). The movie didn’t show any of this it hadn’t been shown. One night when the cobra couple nag and nagaina were talking outside of the house they were planning on killing the family so Rikki would go away and leave the
Rikki has already made many friends and informants. One such informant is muskrat, who tells him of the snakes’ plans to invade the house. Rikki instantly goes to work patrolling the house, caring not for his own safety but bravely protecting those whom he loves. He finds Nag in the bathroom and waits for the right time to strike. When Nag is finally asleep he courageously leaps and grabs hold of nag’s head.
Muhammed Ali stated that “He who is not courageous enough to take risks in life will accomplish nothing in life.” It was gutsy of Rikki-Tikki to fight to fight the snakes Nag and Nagaina because they are one of the most deadly creatures in the Bungalow. There is a huge variety of similarities throughout the book and the movie such as the characters, setting and conflict.
Rikki-Tikki Tavi is a short story written by Rudyard Kipling that takes place in Colonial, India. Rikki-Tikki, the principal character, is a snake-eating mongoose that gets flushed out of his home and taken in by a family. The story shows the good and evil in people and the fight between the brave mongoose and the two snakes, Nag and Nagaina. In the end, Rikki ends up killing the two snakes and to save the family that adopted him. I believe that Rikki is not guilty and that the snakes were attempting murder.
Rikki Tikki found him, edging nearer to Teddy, the only child in the family. Their battle was intense. Karait was throwing himself in all directions, while Rikki was quickly eluding him. Whilst they were fighting, Teddy's parents found the two creatures, and were impressed with Rikki Tikki's swiftness. Rikki Tikki eventually bit and paralyzed Karait, and left him there to die. Teddy's father then beat the dead snake to make sure that he could no longer come anywhere near his family. Rikki was tempted to eat Karait, but remembered, "a full meal makes a slow mongoose. If he wanted all his strength and quickness, he must keep himself thin." He congratulated himself with dust and dirt under a bush, and continued to stay
The father then stated, "He'll do no such thing, Teddy's safer with that little beast than if he had a bloodhound to watch him.” (Rikki-Tikki-Tavi Vimeo). The mother character later goes on to say that Rikki has saved all of the families lives. In closing, the mother character in the book and movie was at first apprehensive of the wild creature, then in the end she was grateful of Rikki’s protection.
Rikki-tikki-tavi should be proud of himself because he saved Teddy from Nagaina on Page 21. His quote was, “ Turn round , Nagaina; turn and fight ! ” Then, on page 22, Rikki-tikki came out of the ground and said, “ It is all over, and the widow will never come out again. “ Finally, on page 22, Rikki-tikki said, “ Tell the Coppersmith, Darzee, and he will tell the garden that Nagaina is dead.”
The antagonist was being selfish when she made Nag go an try to kill Rikki-tikki, she was thinking of herself and herself only. In this short story it states that Nagaina left Nag when it was her plan she told Nag to kill Rikki-tikki and his family. For determined to harm others the story clearly states that Nagaina. “ You warned Rikki-tikki, I would have to kill him.” I thought that was a skilled quote of her showing the reader that Nagaina was determined to kill Rikki-tikki.
One day after Nag and Nagaina had been defeated, Rikki-Tikki Tavi was sleeping on the ground and Darzee was singing and flying through the sky.
Rikki fixes that when he took a stroll around and heard a sound and it was nag and nagina talking and nag was trying to come in through a hole in the bathroom and Rikki heed so when nag came in he could sneak up on him and he did and nag and Rikki fought then Rikki won and nag
If the animals didn’t talk, then the whole story would be nothing. It’d be as if I were watching discovery channel on my T.V. Something I noticed in the passage was that Rikki and Nag are mortal enemies that hate
