There are many risks to playing sports but the biggest one is injuries. In invasion games like lacrosse and soccer you risk being pushed, tackled, kicked, and other physical “attacks”. In other games like tennis you can get hurt from a fracture or sprain. In almost every sport you could be injured.
Concussions are a very common injury that can occur. A concussion is common in contact sports like football. It is caused by an impact to the head and can be very serious. They last days, week and even longer than that. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, confusion, nausea, delayed responses, and others. The effects are usually temporary when you get a concussion. During the time period after one concussion athletes are more vulnerable to gain another. If a player were to get another concussion during this time period, permanent brain damage may be evident in the future.
