He shows that Romeo has an impulsive and emotional disposition. In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is irrational. Firstly, after meeting Juliet for the first time, Romeo falls hopelessly in love. He climbs the wall to her orchard; he drops in where a guard of the Capulet household could have killed him. But he thinks he is on “love’s light wings”(II.ii.30) When Juliet steps on her balcony, she scolds Romeo. But he tells Juliet that he would rather die than be without her love “And but thou love me, let them find me her… My life were better ended by their hate… Than death prorogued, wanting of thy love.” (II.ii.80-83) Romeo has only known Juliet for barely a night and he is already in love with her. Romeo lived in the fair city of Verona where he was of the montague family with the rival family the Capulets. Romeo and his cousin Benvolio one day were approached by a servant asking if they could read and tell him who is on a party list and he handed them the list Romeo's friend Mercutio was on the list. He told the servant what he needed to know and went on his way, later Romeo and Benvolio go to the capulet party with their friend mercutio. Romeo during the start of the party was depressed because his crush rosaline didn't like him, but then he saw Juliet of the capulet house. Romeo and Juliet kissed twice at the party, and afterwards talked in the capulet garden. They agreed to get married the following day. After the marriage Romeo went to find benvolio and mercutio and tell them of the news. He stumbled upon the fight between mercutio and tybalt Juliet’s cousin. Romeo tried to stop the fight but only ended up getting his friend hurt and killed. Romeo then killed tybalt for the murder of his friend. Romeo was then exiled. Juliet heard of the sentence and attempted to kill herself. she was presented with a plan that would help her to run away with Romeo. Juliet then faked her death, and Romeo got word she was

Shakespeare shows this by using rhetorical questions, by using rhetorical questions this shows that Lord Capulet is not willing to give Juliet a chance to speak or answer any of his questions.
