Romeo and Juliet Sermon We are gathered here today to celebrate the life, and mourn the tragic deaths of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. To the citizens of Verona these kids were part of a hateful family feud, but behind closed doors they were actually long lost lovers. We have learned three lessons from Romeo and Juliet's deaths. These lessons include always tell the truth, think before you take action and hate never solves anything. By the end of Romeo and Juliet's relationship, we see these lessons multiple times. The first lesson we learned from Romeo and Juliet is that you should always tell the truth. Throughout their relationship there were multiple lies that led them down that bad path. For example, Juliet does not tell her mom …show more content…
These actions made before thinking is the main reason why Romeo and Juliet are not here today. For example, when Romeo thinks Juliet is dead he kills himself without thought. If only Romeo would have waited and though a little he would have found out that Juliet was not really dead. This attitude killed Romeo and Juliet just because they acted before thinking. All in all, if Romeo and Juliet thought about there actions before they did them, they would still be alive today. The final lesson we learned from Romeo and Juliet is that hate never solves anything. Over the years in Verona we have seen a feud go on between the Montagues and Capulets. All this feud did was cause hate, death and fear in all of Verona. For example, the fights between the Montagues and Capulets never solved anything, they just made more problems. In the end, if there was no hate or feud between the Capulets and Montagues, Romeo and Juliet might still be alive today. In conclusion, Romeo and Juliet teach us many lessons about love and family that we can use, so we do not make the same mistakes. If Romeo and Juliet told the truth, thought before they did actions and stopped the feud between the families, would they still have been alive today. We will not know for sure, but we do know that we can use these lessons to make sure nothing like this ever happens
Romeo and Juliet did not have to die. The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet was written by the famous William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet were young teenagers who married secretly with few people knowing. They barely even knew each other, they could have sneaked out and gone on a date. They were dumb enough to take their lives because one of them died. Romeo and Juliet committed suicide and therefore fate and family fued were the cause of their deaths.
Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two star-crossed lovers, will do anything to show their deep affection for each other. Since they are from two different families, who happen to be enemies, they can be punished for expressing their love for one another. Unfortunately, their passion sparks many outrages. Due to Father Capulet’s feud with the Montague family, Romeo and Juliet's love life results in death.
From the forcing of Juliet to marry Paris, to coming up with a plan for Juliet to be knocked out for quite some time, and sadly, the death of both Romeo and Juliet. Other issues occur in the world that's similar to what happened in the story of Romeo and Juliet. There is a phrase that is ¨death brings out the best and the worst in families.¨ This is true for the story of Romeo and Juliet because they both died, which is the only reason why the two families ended their feud. Who knows if the feud would have been broken if Romeo and Juliet didn't end up dying like they did. That shows that the two families had to go through a very sad event in order for them to realize that their feud is what actually caused it. They were too blindsighted to see that they were the ones who caused the tragic event. ¨First let me be clear about one thing—you are not alone. Not even close! So many people can relate to family fighting after a death. What’s the number one source of conflict? Belongings and money. As hard as it is for many of us to admit, countless families who never imagine there would be conflict over material things are suddenly overwhelmed by disagreement and power struggles.¨(What's your grief). This shows that this happens to families. They have to overcome a tragic event in order to realize something. Now if the Montagues and the Capulets hadn't had their feud,
Romeo and Juliet first met each other at a party at the Capulets house. They fall in love with each other at the first sight without knowing that they are from families who hate each other, and when they do learn about it, it is too late. Juliet realizes that it was a mistake to fall in love with Romeo, because he is one of the people she should watch out for. He is her first and only love, but he is an enemy of her family. Lucky for Romeo, Juliet is smart, and such dumb thing as hate between their parents wouldn't stop her from loving Romeo and getting married with him. She is sorry that their families are enemies, though, because everything would be much easier if they weren't. So this is the first time when the hate between Capulets and Montagues becomes problem to Romeo and Juliets happiness. Only after their children die, the Montagues and Capulets come to their senses. The Prince accuses them of killing Romeo and Juliet. The Prince makes them see how wrong they were all the time, that all because of their hate, because they couldn't let their children love each other, Romeo and Juliet died. After that, Capulets and Montagues decide to call it quits. No more fighting, and Montague even says that he will make a gold statue of Juliet, but what is that going to do? It is too late, nothing will bring them back. It is totally Capulets' and Montagues' fault that Romeo and Juliet died. If they didn't hate each other so much,
The want for revenge leads many of the characters in Romeo and Juliet into murderous acts which eventually leads to severe punishments and a further need for revenge. The everlasting revenge in Romeo and Juliet is first born from ancient grudge between the Capulets and the Montagues, which is ultimately settled with the tragic, abrupt unifying factor of both Romeo and Juliet's death. Several instances within the interactions of the characters suggests that vengeance is driving force of the plot, and that consequently, there must ultimately be an end to the feuding and recoil, due to the fact that there must be a resolution after the thrilling climax..
Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet discusses the many challenges the ‘star crossed lovers’ face. It is their own deceptive actions that ultimately lead them to their untimely end. However Romeo and Juliet are forced to be deceptive due to their fate and misfortune, the ongoing feud in Verona, and the misleading guidance they receive from others; which also contribute to their deaths. Romeo and Juliet focuses on the theme of love and hate, this theme is interweaved throughout the play.
In many literary works, there are methods that authors use to make a story better. In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, dramatic irony is the driving method. Dramatic irony is something in which characters do not know something, but the reader or audience knows what the true reality is. According to some researchers, “A staple of Elizabethan and Shakespearean drama was dramatic irony” (Halio 25). Furthermore some researchers also belive that dramatic irony is very prominent in the play, “ One of the more prominent literary devices in the play is irony” (Sauer 673). Romeo and Juliet, and also their friends and families face a lot of instances of dramatic irony in the story. Dramatic irony creates suspense and adds to
Well, now you know Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t of been happy together if they have lived. Romeo was so quick to act in every situation, so he couldn’t really control his emotions. Both of them barely knew each other , and they only knew each
Approximately four hundred years ago, in 1597, the famous playwright, English poet and actor, William Shakespeare, wrote the well-known play, Romeo and Juliet. This dramatic, romantic story is set in the town of Verona, and is about ‘a pair of star-crossed lovers,’ who express their undying love for each other. In the end, their undying love for each other ends tragically, but it does have one good outcome – it puts an end to the family’s ancient feud. Furthermore, Romeo and Juliet’s tragic ending is not to be blamed upon completely themselves, as Friar Laurence, Tybalt and Lord Capulet were all somewhat involved in the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.
The lies and secrecy in Romeo and Juliet are what leads to the lack of communication that causes them to kill themselves. If their marriage was not a secret, Romeo would not have been banished, Tybalt would still be alive, and the families could possibly join together as one without Romeo and Juliet being dead. It is the lies and secrecy that caused the death of Romeo and
In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, many characters meet their tragic end as a result of a plethora of factors, from old rivalries to new love. It is a tragic story of two lovers, destined to complete each other, but also to end a bitter feud through their deaths (Prologue.3-6). However, if the blame had to be ascribed to one person in particular, that person would be Romeo Montague. Throughout the play, Shakespeare showcases Romeo’s irrationality and poor decision making, leading to the gruesome deaths of his loved ones. Romeo is most to blame for the tragic slew of deaths because he is oblivious, quick to act, and too urgent in his relationship.
As Benjamin Franklin said, “Three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.” In the novel Romeo and Juliet, secrets run throughout Verona, Italy in the 1300s and end the feud of two families through loss. Shakespeare wrote this tragedy, to convey that youth think with their hearts rather than their minds. Due to the years of feuding between the Capulets and Montague families, Romeo and Juliet’s concealed love leads to secrets, death, and heartbreak. Consequently, their immature lust causes deadly secrets to outbreak in Verona.

What would help with the tragedy is if Juliet was honest and told her parents about her feelings for Romeo. When Juliet falls for Romeo she expects the worst reaction from her parents. The thing is they could
