Romeo and Juliet, the Story of Love, Hate, and Friendship Romeo and Juliet, Williams Shakespeare's tragic account of love and hate. Romeo the dashing young prince, and Juliet, the fair maiden. Both entwined with the politics of the city of Verona, the battle of hate that rage through the Montagues and Capulets. But they learned to love despite the hate the should have felt, even though they loved it eventually ended in their demise. He wants to kill anyone for the slightest reason and hates all things good. Like when he says, “What, drawn and talk of peace? I hate the word as I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee. Hate all thee coward.”(1.1.71-73) He hates peace? That seems like something everyone would want. The only explanation for this is that he is an evil wicked man that lives for no reason other than killing. Even when Benvolio asks him for help that's how he responds by wanting to kill him. It's
