A hero, whether real or unreal, continues to be one of the world’s most treasured fascination. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a hero is anyone who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. One must possess courage, selflessness, and passion in order to be classified as a hero. These characteristics are not familial, not common and certainly not easy to acquire. Most heroes have the will power to do what they feel is right, regardless of what obstacles may be in their way. They show confidence in stressful situations and take risks while others stand on the sidelines. Nelson Mandela once said “courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Rosa Parks demonstrated this when she refused to give away her seat on a bus to a white passenger. Of course she knew that this decision came with risks, but she decided to take a stance for what she believed in. Her courage marked her as a hero for everyone fighting for civil rights at the time. This character trait allows the hero to be seen as brave and audacious.
John F. Kennedy once said, “Don’t ask what your country

Jackson once said “Above all, be true to yourself, and if you can’t put your heart in it, take yourself out of it." A true hero is passionate about what they are doing and do everything in their power to make it happen. This trait demonstrates the devotion that the hero has towards their cause, since they strongly advocate for what they believe in no matter what obstacles they may face in the process. Malala Yousafzai, advocates profusely for the female right to learn. She knew that there would be naysayers who would try to silence her voice but she didn’t care because she believed what she was fighting for was worth fighting for. When she was shot for going to school, she didn’t let it silence her voice because she believed that what she was fighting for was worth fighting
Heroes come in different shapes, sizes, and looks. Maybe someone you saw on the street one day was heroic for saving someone’s life in a car accident. A hero to me is someone who can be brave in situations that aren’t so safe, and take a risk to make sure everyone is okay, no matter who
“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.” This was said by Rosa Parks. She was an enormous inspiration to the African American Race. She was one among many who lived in a rough time for African Americans. She lived in a time when equality wasn’t really equal. When African Americans were scared/ weren’t allowed to state their opinions on different matters. However, Rosa Parks was an individual who stood up for herself. Rosa Parks helped the Civil Rights Movement and African Americans gain equality mainly through her courage and refusal to move.
“It’s not easy to be a hero. You do it because of what you believe, not because of what other people deserve.” Anyone can face a challenge or a hardship. But what makes a true hero is how the person takes on the challenge. Often, heroes show feats of ingenuity and acts of bravery. Two heroes that acted during the American Civil Rights Movement, were Martin Luther King Jr, and Rosa Parks. A hero is a person who has demonstrated behaviors to ethically receive our appreciation and respect. A hero is an ordinary person who finds the strength within themselves to persevere and undergo hardships and calamity.
Many heroes exists in todays world. Some are just fictional but the real ones are the ones worth mentioning. A true hero is a person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the well being of others. they're giving personalities cause them to give everything they can to help others. They are constantly in a race to fight for something beneficial to all.
A hero is somebody who commits an act of remarkably bravery or who has shown an admirable quality such as great courage or strength of character. (Encarta, 2009) Joseph Campbell has come up with eight of his own characteristics of a hero. Joseph Campbell is known as a scholar of mythology. There are several people in our times that are considered a hero. Whether, these heroes are fictional or nonfiction, they all portray some kind of heroic abilities.
According to Joseph Campbell, "A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself" . This means that a hero is person who is made a sacrifice for the good of others. A Hero is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as "a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities" . This means that a hero is someone people look up to. Anyone can be a hero. Heroes have qualities such as bravery, strength, and selflessness. Mothers, soldiers, and Odysseus are all examples of heroes.
A hero is someone who is admired and valued for their courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities. A hero to one person may not be a hero to another. I strongly agree with this definition for a hero to a person is not always a hero to others. In saying this, my hero is Isabelle Bruce Reid because she was the first female to qualify in Australia as a veterinarian. To me, Isabelle Reid was a name in history who changed the world, is valued and is a great role model.
What is a hero? What qualities does he or she have? In our modern lives when we think of a hero we think of nurses and soldiers, but according to the American Heritage Dictionary, a hero in mythology and legend is a man or woman, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods. A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life.
The excerpt also says “She was not loud or boisterous, but she was firm” (3). That action showed bravery because Rosa was not fearful in sticking up for what was right. Rosa Parks is considered a hero because she was brave. In an excerpt, written by Taylor Wilson, it says “ She was not going to give up her seat…” (3).Ms. Parks was unwilling to give her seat up to the white passenger.
Rosa Parks was a Civil Rights Leader. She was a Civil Rights Leader because she refused to move for the white man. This showed that she wanted to change things for many people.
She is a hero for many other reasons, but this is one. One morning she was just sitting on a bus, she had no idea that minutes later everything would be totally different. Refusing to move out of her seat because she thought it was wrong to be judged based on the color of your skin. In the article Remembering Rosa Parks it states, “Parks and the civil rights generation fought for the fundamental principle that everyone in America deserves equal representation.” They did this even knowing the consequences and they still did it which made them brave. Some of the consequences even occurred involving in Rosa Parks getting arrested. Later that day police got called and she was taken to a police station and was arrested just because she didn't stand up. Although she was not the first person to do this, she was the most well know of this situation. Claudette Colvin was a 15 year old girl that did the same thing and got arrested. In the article Remembering Rosa Parks by Kevin Chappell it states, “ She was already an activist known, respected and impressive. Elevating her case was one of the best and most strategic things that the civil rights movement ever did.” This shows that because she was already well known it made a bigger impact than Claudette Colvin
Rosa Parks was exemplary of courage because she stood up for what was right and tried to change this problem for the rest of the society. It also states how Parks was frustrated about the injustice of segregation. Without standing up for herself and bringing attention to this problem the world would not have
In our life we always need someone super hero to help us in difficult situations but this is not just happened in fairy tales also in real life. We have seen ,listened and read a lot of heroes and their stories such as in television, radio and books. According to Oxford Dictionary, hero is defined as" a person who has good act, noble achievements and great qualities."This word comes from Latin . Oprah Winfrey and Angelina Jolie who believed in their duty to help poor people underprivileged, and sick people .The hero demonstrates humanitarian and giving generosity without waiting a give back from others.
Rosa Parks faced many challenges in her life, the greatest of which was racial discrimination. Bus segregation in particular was something that had affected her throughout her life. She faced these injustices with action, and her character traits played a great role in how she handled them. She handled them nonviolently, without anger towards those who discriminated against her and other African Americans, and with a quiet courage. Her calm demeanor had a great deal to do with this, as did her other character traits, such as her willingness to confront injustice.
Heroes act a certain way that people may not always take into mind. Heroes are always very determined, but humble and modest. They put others before themselves and keep their minds on their goals and never give up on what they’re doing and what they stand for, even when risks are involved. According to “The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an
