Civil disobedience is one of the most important cornerstones of the rights of the American people. Although it is dangerous at time and can often be less effective that violent protest, its benefits can neither be negated nor ignored. There have been several different individuals throughout history who have used the idea of civil disobedience to fight for their individualized causes. Rosa parks fought for the rights of black people, as well as women everywhere. The individuals who participated in the Boston Tea Party fought for the freedom and rights of the new colonists in America. Susan B. Anthony fought for the political and societal rights of women everywhere.
Rosa Parks is, apart from Martin Luther King Jr., arguably one of the most important figures of the civil rights movement. Her most notable protest is considered to be when she refused to change seats in a bus when a white man approached her and expected her to move due to the social norms of that time period. This led to a newsworthy story, and brought attention to the extreme discrimination that black people endured. One can only imagine the trials and tribulations that went on during the early 1950’s all the way up to the late 1960’s; today this time period is known throughout the nation as the time of civil rights. Some say that Parks was born ready to change history. Rosa Parks stood up for what she believes in by showing courage, bravery, and compassion for equality.
Its Time for a Change As an activist in The African American civil rights movements Rosa Parks states that “You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it’s right.” Rosa Parks demonstrates that by refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger on Dec. 1,1995 in the city of Montgomery, Alabama. People were outraged by the step Rosa Parks had taken because of her refusal, boycotts broke out insisting on equality for all. Some may say she didn’t do much but thanks to her the city of Montgomery had no choice but to lift the law since it was unconstitutional. Therefore, she had a positive and powerful impact on American society because she stood up for what she believed in, encouraged others, and gained people rights.

They said she is an African-American women, and when she was 42 years old, her face became very popular in the country, because she rejected to give her seat to the white man in the bus in Montgomery, AL. In addition, they talked about the law in the United State of America, and they said black people could not live an equal life because the law was unfair. For example, black people could not eat at the same restaurant, they could not study at the same school also in the church they could not worship at the same church. Rosa Parks was board on February 4th, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Both of Rosa Rosa’s parents worked. Parks’ mother, Leona Edwards, worked as an Elementary teacher. Rosa’s father, James McCauley worked as a carpenter. Rosa Parks parents divorced around the year 1950 when Rosa was only two years old. Rosa was not an only child she had a younger brother Sylvester McCauley whom after the divorce of their parents they both moved with their mom to Pinel Level near Montgomery Alabama. Rosa Parks lived with her grandparents from her mother's side. Parks was homeschooled and at age eleven she started attending to a public school, Industrial School for Girls, in Montgomery. Rosa Parks attempted to finish secondary education but was unable to since she had to drop out to take care of her ill grandmother. Rosa Parks grew up with segregation of restrooms, water fountains, education, and transportation, everything had rules as she was growing up. At the age of 19 Rosa Parks got married with Raymond Parks in 1932. A year after her wedding in 1933 she graduated, receiving her high school diploma, that same year after receiving her high school diploma Rosa signed up to vote. The word civil rights means that everyone in the U.S. has the same rights and is treated equally, but one part of this was overlooked when it was declared. The rights for African Americans. Rosa Parks fought for equality for everyone and not just one race. When Rosa Parks fought for her rights she was threatened but that would not deter her from fighting. I am writing on behalf of Rosa Parks to nominate her as a praiseworthy awardee for the 2017 Nobel prize for morality. Rosa truly defines the word “moral.” In everything she does, she focuses on the benefit of others, over the benefit of herself. Rosa is willing to sacrifice for others, whether that means sacrificing her time, or even her freedom. She also is a great peacemaker, is very diligent, and never gives up. I believe Mrs. Parks is the best fit for the award.
