There is one day that will always stick out in my mind. I was down at the Wabash River with my family and friends celebrating Labor Day. I was doing what any second grader would be doing, riding my bike, enjoying the outside. I had no care in the world while I was riding my bike. I only cared about two things, having fun and the wonderful weather.

As a gateway community to Texas Hill Country and Lake Travis, Lake Pointe is in an ideal location. Lake Pointe has always been popular with families who want plenty of space and clean, safe living while also enjoying all the amenities of Austin. I am from Coral Springs, Florida. I am just assuming that you do not know where Coral Springs is because it is not a main, huge, famous city and you probably are not familiar with the South Florida area. Coral Springs is about 25 minutes in a car to Fort Lauderdale, and is about 35 minutes in a car to Miami, perhaps more famous and familiar cities that you may know. I have lived in the same house in Coral Springs ever since I moved there from Colorado when I was only a few months old. I love where I live and I love having my friends and family nearby, but I wanted a change.

“What’s the Boneyard Creek?” was the response I got from several my friends as I asked them about the trench located on the Engineering Quad. Honestly, if not for FOS I don’t think I would have paid much attention to the creek. It is not exactly beautiful and not particularly important to a students running by it to get to class. However, after a quick google search, I discovered that the Boneyard Creek is an extremely fascinating historic landmark of the University of Illinois.
