Willow Marsh, a freshman at Palmyra High School, has a passion for traveling all around the United States and has shared some of her most memorable parts about this experience. In 3rd grade Willow moved from Utah to Pennsylvania and this is what really started her love for traveling. When asked why she loves traveling so much she responds with, “it’s cool to experience all that the world has to offer.” One of her favorite parts about the trip was being able to see so many different towns and see how the culture changes from state to state. The biggest change about moving here for her was the different social standards. “In Utah if you played a sport, you were not cool. But then I moved here and the people who played sports were considered
As Utah came closer, I set my expectations even higher. After not being able to visit everyone I wanted, Utah was the place to beat Texas. From visiting countless unrecognized family members to camping or hiking, Utah overall was a breathtaking place. Eventually realization set in, and I started to notice more and more flaws. Utah was repetitive. There wasn't anything to do except hiking or camping. We had barbeque every day for two weeks, because the restaurants there were horrible, and there was no sign of fresh sea food anywhere.
Millford plantation is a historic place located on SC 261, west of Pinewood, SC. Built in 1839-1841, Millford Plantation is considered by many to be the finest example of Greek revival residential architecture in America. The house is located in such a remote section of rural SC that it comes to a surprise to first time visitors, who must drive over miles of dirt roads and through thick forests to reach the house. The house has massive columns, sixteen foot windows, a domed rotunda enclosing a spectacular staircase. All these impressive features are inherent in Greek Rival architecture (Classical American Homes).
The diversity of thought among people from all corners of Earth breeds an air of excitement and curiosity. Flying ignites a passion to explore new places and meet new people. I love Lincoln, Nebraska, but I love the exhilaration of new experiences that come with traveling. The unique food, culture, and architecture at every unique location taunt me, calling for me to abandon my home in search of fulfillment elsewhere. Exposure to the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Los Angeles is a breath of fresh air from the monotony of Nebraskan life. Touching down in New York City at the end of a long flight is only the start of a new journey into a melting pot laced with opportunity for those who seek it. The idea of building my own path in a hub of diversity and opportunity is beyond appealing. Traveling to new places with varying demographics and cultures spoils the explorer within me who craves interaction outside of the incubator I call
State institutions that house individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities have been a prominent part of history in the health professions. In 1967 in the United States, there were more than a quarter of a million state institutions that housed individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities (Waldman, 2017). One state institution that was around during that time period was Willowbrook State School which was located on Staten Island in New York City and was one of the largest run state schools for people with developmental disabilities. Willowbrook at its peak was home to over 6000 residents when its capacity was for just 4000 (Kaser, 2005). Willowbrook was a state institution that is most often described for dehumanizing its patients. Willowbrook housed both children and

Helensvale is located on the northern end of the Gold Coast, approximately 65km south of Brisbane. It is a nice, tranquil suburb named after a local plantation owner, Ernest White’s sister, Helena. It was around 1870 when a plantation was formed in the area by Ernest White and Arthur Robinson. And in the 1980s, it welcomed its first residents with a shopping center and secondary state schools, sports centers, and parks, making Helensvale the first integrated suburb in the backcountry border of the Gold Coast.
Growing up in the city of Detroit then moving out to the Suburbs of West Bloomfield is a huge change. In Detroit I became accustomed to my environment. For the most part we were black. Racial issues didn't come up much because of this. While I understood racism and knew that Blacks were a minority throughout the country. I had never felt what it really felt like to be a minority.
Puget prairies are a type of ecosystem that can only be found in small areas in the Puget lowlands as well as in some places in British Columbia. The Puget prairies were created by retreating glaciers thousands of years ago (South Puget Sound Prairies, 2016). The prairies were then maintained by Native American tribes from the surrounding area ("South Puget Sound Prairies," 2016). The Salish tribe systematically burned trees growing into the prairies to maintain the intricate ecosystem, a strategy the prairieland relies on ("The Role of Fire," 2016). Coastal Salish natives lived in the Thurston County prairies long before the arrival of white settlers in 1792. The Salish tribe has since split into the Nisqually, Squaxin, and Chehalis tribes
Airplanes. Window seats. Wilderness. Just a few of my favorite things, Melanie thought quietly to herself while flying over Canada. Staring out the window, gazing at snow-covered mountains that looked like they were peeking into the clouds, she tried to remember how long it had been since she last saw Connor, her older brother. When she was younger, they were close but their bond had faded out as Connor was constantly moving, never able to settle down. The last time she saw her brother was almost three years ago when they spent the day hiking in the Delaware Water Gap. Being surrounded by the wilderness seemed to be one of the things that always united them. Recently, as a high school senior, she moved from Arizona to Louisiana. Meanwhile,

Three miles east of Sunray Park and Casino in Farmington, New Mexico there is a little structure similar to a shed secluded by gloomy perished trees and has a dirt road covered with gravel leading up to it and other residences that include trailers and houses where people live, horse corrals where horses are rounded up, and farming land for growing crops. The dirt road is just off Highway 64 across from Dollar General and this road is Rd 5364. The building is a place where people meet occasionally for shows or just to simply practice. There is a white trailer next to it with green grass in its lawn and vehicles parked outside, there is a dark gate that surrounds this area that is rusted with metal sheets on it with some junk inside its premises.
Marshawn was born April 22, 1986. First, Lynch grew up in Oakland, California, and he played four sports football, basketball, track and wrestling. Second, his mom Delisa held a 200 meter track record at Oakland Technical High School. Also, that was the school he later attended. Finally, the sport he loved the most was football and he was really good at it. That was good he picked football because he became one of the best running backs that ever lived.
“What’s the Boneyard Creek?” was the response I got from several my friends as I asked them about the trench located on the Engineering Quad. Honestly, if not for FOS I don’t think I would have paid much attention to the creek. It is not exactly beautiful and not particularly important to a students running by it to get to class. However, after a quick google search, I discovered that the Boneyard Creek is an extremely fascinating historic landmark of the University of Illinois.
Moving states has changed a perspective on me and how I feel about myself. Before I moved to Las Vegas I was living in a small town in Mexico with barely something to eat. When my mom got offered a job thousands of miles away I wasn't very interested, the thought of living my family that can barely stay together was depressing and struggled for a lot for years.
As I arrived at Phoenix in September of 1999, I was very excited to see this famous city and it's country and to get to know everything about it. But with the time I realized that Phoenix is not more different than my town in Germany, Solingen. It's a not a big city but it is a very beautiful one with many small streets and small houses around them. I had even the impression that the life in Germany was more exciting than in Phoenix. Now I'm living in Phoenix for over one year and I can say now that there are many differences between those two countries which had a big influence at our further lives. I'm talking about differences which you can't notice if you go there for a
