Tormented rock star badboy, what more do you want? Ryker had a past that he blamed himself for, so he never let himself get close to a woman he would care for. In the short story, “Stray”, by Cynthia Rylant, a young girl named Doris Lacey was shoveling one day when the protagonist saw a dog that was walking alone and shivering. Doris picked the helpless dog up and took the dog into her warm, cozy home. The theme of the story is that persistence pays off. Doris was persistent in the story by feeding the dog and the main character was also persistent by repeatedly asking her parents to keep the dog.
"Mother says dinner is ready," Ellie grinned foolishly, knowing that little interruptions always pushed Monica's buttons. As Monica was saying goodbye to her friend, Ellie popped her head back into the room. "You also need to go pick up Ryland from the Wheeler's house." With that last statement, Ellie Harlind made her way down the stairs of their two floor home. Ryland Harlind was the youngest child of three at eleven years old. Ryland and Monica were as close as siblings could be. Even with their five-year difference, people would think that there was no chance the age difference was over three years.
Her love for Jack is mere desperation. “Pick a man, any man. Every guy I fall for becomes Jesus Christ within the first twenty-four hours of our relationship. I know that this happens, I see it happening, I even feel myself, sometimes, standing at some temporal crossroads, some distinct moment at which I can walk away and keep it from happening, but I never do. I grab at everything, I end up with nothing, and then I feel bereft. I mourn for the loss of something I never even had.”(175) She desperately clings to her idea of salvation in Jack, that her desperation is her unwillingness to admit that he can’t save her; which he obviously does not do. And she is aware that a relationship can’t save her, but she desperately clings to the ideas that she can be saved. That someone could eventually be her
He was funny and flirty despite the fact that he couldn't talk and she loved watching him play the drums or dance. Their friendship was beautiful and Rydel wouldn't of traded it for the world, no matter how hard things got.
As I sat down in a room with my favorite drummer, Rhett Noland, I had pre existing thoughts I would learn new drum skills, hear about tour life, and get advice about performing. Instead, all those things were blown out the window. What I aquired from this classroom was more important to me than any rudiment or drum fill, or any advice someone else could have given me. What I learned in this classroom in a sense “woke me up” and gave me a realization about what I am here on Earth for. Rhett told me about how he used to be an alcoholic. How he used to not even be able to go to work without a drink. How destructive drinking was. How miserable he was. There was a paradigm shift in the room immediately after he told us that now, he had been sober for 23 months.
wondered how Mike would react to be having another suspect. I sent him a quick text alerting him that I think I found another suspect. Within minutes he was at my door step and in my room. “Tell me all about it, but I still think it is Spencer Bratcher...” complained Mike.
“Wonder how many of these freeloaders would claim to be his friend if I went public with his lewd behavior,” Christine said close to Paul’s ear.
In November, Dyrick started to focus more on making the explosives. Elise was practicing shooting more and more. Her accuracy was spot on and the weapons blasting didn't affect her anymore like it use to. One day Dyrick and Elise were in his room talking about the plot. "Lisey, I've been making more pipe bombs and such". "And such?" "I've made about two gallons of napalm". "Napalm? What are we gonna use napalm for?" "I don't know, I just made it for fun". "I see". "Next we need to make some big propane bombs." "Do you know how?" "No, but I know a guy who does. Don't worry Else, I'll find out how. I got this all under control." Elise said "I know you do and kissed him. "Come here" he said while patting his lap. She sat down on him and put her
On December 4th, 1966 in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, it was just another normal and quiet day. Arthur Raeburn had just locked the doors to his business’s building. He didn’t have any sort of transportation and had to use a public bus to get back home. It was late and cold, with nothing lighting up the sidewalk he was walking on except the moonlight, streetlights, and the headlights of passing cars. “Eight more days.” Arthur said. Arthur was well known in his town for seemingly always being positive, everywhere he went he would always leave a positive impression on people. However, Arthur was not happy, and he couldn’t figure out why. He could always make everyone else happy, but not himself. His plan was to leave his state on the 12th of the
A restless thigh muscle quaked beneath unrelenting fingers that harshly demanded the motion be quelled through sheer force of will, and while it lessened the impact there was no fully doing away with the tiredness that had settled within. Leisurely sharpening various skills on the ice had been adequate to properly place him far above an amateur’s level, but lacking the dedication which came with training for a competition had stolen away any sort of edge and dampened his movements an ample amount that they failed miserably to meet a single standard that Rithisak held for himself. By normal guidelines his performance was held in high regard—as proven by his placement into the intermediate bracket—yet that meant little when one strove for perfection,
Three suns rose on a midsummer’s morning: the real sun with two false suns escorting it through the sky. Sun wolves again thought Durf. He looked north to the distant, snow-covered Saukahandrun Mountains. The white snow glistened in the early morning sun. In places, naked blue-gray rock stood against the slow push of ice-blue glaciers — glaciers that over many years honed ridges razor-sharp and peaks to points. He was looking for anything unusual, anything that the sun wolves brought.

The play is made to be fast-moving, inventive and highly entertaining, ‘Teechers’ vigorously evokes life at a modern comprehensive. It’s about three school leavers who decided to put on a play on to tribute the drama teacher – Mr Nixon who has made such an impact on them in his time at the school. The tale is about a dysfunctional school with cranky caretakers, kid-hating teachers and hard nut kids.
