John Bosco was born on August 16, 1815, to a poor farming family in Becchi, a small suburb of Turin,
Italy. The child grew to be the “Beloved Apostle of
Youth”. One of John Bosco’s earliest recollections occurred at age two. He remembers his mother telling him upon his father’s death , “You have no father now”. Although he stated that he could not remember what his father was like , his death must have had a profound effect on him and perhaps sparked his desire to help troubled boys, many of whom were fatherless.
I cannot say that I have suffered the loss of a close family member and can only imagine the effect it could have on my life.
From the time he was a young child, John Bosco seemed to have a clear understanding of God’s ways;

This priest arranged for the beginning of John’s education for the priesthood. His older stepbrother, Anthony, was jealous of him and often begrudged him his studies by insisting that he help work on the farm. Even Anthony could not keep him from his studies. Priests arranged for him to be taught while he worked at the farm. In life we may encounter people who may be jealous of us and try to stop us from succeeding.
Throughout the course of his religious education John came in contact with many different people and different work experiences that helped prepare him for his future work. Living away from home for the first time ,he explained the way that he best learned to deal with his new “companions”. He divided them into three classes; the good, the indifferent, and the bad.
He avoided the bad as soon as their character was discovered; he was courteous to the indifferent and dealt with them only when necessary. He was determined to make friends with the good. This is probably the best advice that John Bosco has to offer young boys. Although he said that he avoided the
“bad”, I have a feeling that he did not give up on them too easily.
John Bosco continued to have a knack for being able to enter the boys’ world throughout his life. After being ordained a priest he continued his “boy work”.
Little by little over the years his Oratories multiplied in various towns, cities, and countries.
Many of the boys he taught and
In the United States, there are many holidays that are celebrated by its citizens. Some of these holidays consist of individuals taking the day off from work and school, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Day. During these days off, individuals have the chance to reflect on the day itself, and rejoice on the purpose of the holiday. Every holiday has a distinct and positive meaning towards the United States and its people, but there is one holiday in particular that is controversial in this aspect- the celebration of Christopher Columbus- Columbus Day. This controversy is JJJJJJ because even though Christopher Columbus had a big role in discovering America, he also was a terrible human being who tortured many. In my opinion, I believe that the celebration of discovering America should continue to be celebrated. Although, the holiday should be shifted from honoring Columbus, to instead celebrating the discovery of the United States of America by the indigenous people who were already settled in our land.
When Christopher Columbus sailed to America he was happy and proud of himself because he was the first to discover the land which is now named america, and he was also happy because he found out that there were a lot of resources found on that land which he found was necessary to take and use. According to the document A “Day after day they looked for land; They dreamed of trees and rocks and sand” this shows that the purposely are trying to find land for them to dock and discover. Additionally according to the document A “Columbus sailed on to find some gold To bring back home, as he'd been told.He made the trip again and again,Trading gold to bring to Spain” this shows that he was there not just to discover land but to make riches too and
gods being human. He is a well developed person. You see every aspect of John.
* The Ibo people have a civilized community because they have an organized structure to their society with rules and laws. A society that employs morals, ethics, and accountability for peoples’ actions cannot be considered savage. The Ibo are highly religious; the base of most of their daily life revolves around religion, whether it is how they raise their families or how they grow crops, such as yams.
The Passion of Saints Perpetua and Felicity The document, “The Passion of Saints Perpetua and Felicity,” shows just how mighty and fearless the faith of the martyrs were in Rome around 203 A.D. in which our story takes place. During the rule of Diocletian, Christianity was not the religion of popular belief. Many of Romans practiced polytheism. As a result, numerous Christian believers were persecuted for their divine faith in God.
At the realization of the truth, John breaks down and sobs, not only from seeing how his race had been devastated before, but also at the realization that all the knowledge he had gathered as a child was false. In his unyielding desire to learn more, he never thought of what would happen once he gained the knowledge that he wanted, and if he would be satisfied if it revealed something he didn’t want to learn.

When Christopher Columbus sailed to the Americas he stole land, kidnapped people and started a massacre. This all started August 3, 1492, when Columbus started his trip to India. According to Document B, “I took possession of all of them for our most fortunate King...no one making any resistance.” This was written by Christopher Columbus in 1493. In this quote he is referring to the people of the islands he discovered, saying that he has kidnapped them for the King. It also states, “ In the island, which I have said before was called Hispana, there are very lofty and beautiful mountains, great farms...and well adapted for constructing buildings.”, which describes reasons they should take over the land. Additionally, according to Document C,
“When Christopher Columbus sailed he sailed with three ships and found the Indians. “According to Document A Christopher” Columbus was brave, and he was bright “. “This shows that he was a very intelligent and tough man. “Additionally, according to Document B “ In fourteen hundred ninety-two Columbus sailed the ocean”. “This shows that He had three ships and left from Spain”. “Therefore, the authors point of view was that Christopher Columbus was a very joyful and apparently a nice man to the people as the document tells us. During the time this source was created Christopher Columbus has set sail and met the Indians. According to Document C “ The spaniards forced their indian slaves to work without rest and gave them little food. The men died
During Christopher Columbus’ lifetime, new technology and worldwide trade was in the process of being spread. Columbus and other European mariners searched for a trade route to Asia. This was one main reason for Columbus’ voyage to the New World. He was sent by Spanish king and queen, Ferdinand and Isabel. Additionally, religion played a big part in the everyday lives of people in the Iberian peninsula because of the Reconquista and Inquisition. In fact, the spread of Christianity was one of the main reasons for his exploration. Although Christopher Columbus contributed to the spread of Spanish agricultural techniques, like the use of iron tools and the cultivation of apple and pear trees, he is responsible for the deaths of many indigenous

Bartolme De Las Casas is an interesting character. His passion for people who at the time were seen as a sub species of humans (if even human at all) is remarkable. De Las Casas came from a modest family and was well educated. He was brought into the world of the America's through his father Pedro De Las Casas who was an encomiendo himself. His travels through the New World prior to 1510 when he became an ordained priest shaped his crusade to defend the Natives.
Descartes and Peirce both believe in belief and doubt. However, Peirce argument and determination to find a solution to overcome doubt is much stronger than Descartes’. Peirce also makes it known that he is aware of belief in which Descartes does not. Their beliefs result from the notion of clear and distinct ideas. Peirce and Descartes are both rationalists who believe that there is an independent truth and they know it when they see it. The problem that exists is that Descartes and Peirce realize that their senses and ideas could lead to rejection and doubt. The difference between Peirce and Descartes argument is that Peirce argues that to understand the effects of something is to understand what it is. Peirce uses the example of objects
