Sitting Bull was a kind and compassionate man that had admiration for the Lakota tribe and the tribe's land, and was also known to have led the Lakota tribe to safety during the many years of defiance against the new American policies. Recognized and admired by the Lakota tribe, Sitting Bull was one of the most famous Native American Chiefs who was known for his bravery to bring fair treatment to his people.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur Oklahoma is a place where many families go to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What many may not know is that the waters in this area were a treasured resource even before statehood. Native Americans were the first to speak of the wonderous health benefits of the water and after the arrival of the white man the preservation of this area would become an issue not only for the Native Americans who discovered it but also for the settlers who viewed it as an opportunity to become rich. Since the very implementation of Social Security in 1935 during the time of the Great Depression to present day, it has been a never-ending source of controversy. Not only has Social Security played a very essential role in the lives of many Americans throughout the years, but has also been very important to the economic security of the United States of America.

The United States of America is one of the most diverse places in the world. We all share different cultures, beliefs, and problems; nevertheless, economic security is a universal, human problem that each society has had to encounter in some way. The term “social security” was introduced to the United States in 1935, during the Great Depression, when the Social Security Act was passed. Social security has created about 16 social welfare programs over the years. These programs were developed to give millions of Americans a sense of economic security and to show that the government cares about the well-being of their own. The most popular programs under the Social Security Act are Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) and Medicare and Medicaid Programs. These programs have greatly influenced the lives of many United States citizens and allow our people to feel secure.

Over time, people have evolved and grown into kinder and more accepting people, tolerant of all religions, races, sexual orientations, etc. In this age, younger children have grown up in these welcoming environments, not knowing what life was like in a much crueler time. Though books that teach children what it was like to live in a time of racism and unwelcoming, a considerable number of schools have deprived children of the opportunity to learn about what life was like decades ago, upsetting even the authors of the books.
