Samantha was always the name I wanted. I originally wanted the name during my childhood. Not only was this name a big part of my childhood it was the name of the main character off my favorite TV show, Bewitched. In this series Samantha was a witch who fell in love with a mortal and was trying to live a normal life. I wen through some bad things in my childhood an I guess I wanted to be like Samantha and be able to change her situation. Samantha was a name that gave me hope to become better, hope for a better tomorrow, and hope for change. Not only did I like the name because of the connection to my childhood I also like the name due to how it sounds. I also like the name because of the many nicknames I could have. Sam, Sammy, Sammee Sammey,
Growing up, I did not like my name because I strongly believed it was too short and awkward sounding. I did not see how the name Nadia could be pleasing to the ear or likable at all. The worse part, I thought, was not having a nickname to hide my
would associate my name with something they loved or even remembered fondly. My first name
Most people have a story about how their parents decided on their name, especially those of us who have less common ones. Mine is fairly dry; my parents looked through a book of names and decided that “Maizie” was charming and sweet and would fit me well. My sister’s story, however, is slightly more intriguing. Cleo Arden Seidl, born on August 3rd of 2001, was named by me, Maizie Regan Seidl, when I was just two years and nine months old.
My mom was a reader. She was a slow reader, but a reader nonetheless. Her favorite book to this day is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty White. The main Character’s name is Mary Frances Nolan. My mom decided then that my name would be Frances. Well, that didn’t work because my dad didn’t like that name. So anyway, my mom also loved a set of children’s books about a badger named Frances (she is an elementary school teacher), and the badger’s little sister’s name was Gloria. I was named Gloria after the little sister, or I was named after Gloria Estefan if you ask my dad.
My parents knew even before I was born that I would be named Natalie. They loved that name so much, they thought just how pretty it is. They also admired the late actress Natalie Wood and how beautiful and charming this actress was to the world.
Luke, I never really knew what to think of my name it was just there my Whole life, although behind the name there was another world that I never knew about. “Light Given” that is what my name means in greek. I get related to the movie “Star Wars” as Luke Skywalker all the time, almost every day I get called “Skywalker” or someone always says “LUKE, I am your father…” Something I will never be able to escape, although now it is apart of me. Every time someone calls me skywalker I play along because really they are just complimenting my name. The name Luke, from Star Wars was give to him by the creator of the character, George Lucas. If you think about it it fits the movie so well and it was well chosen. Although that was not my case, my name was chosen because my parents thought it fit me well. They refused to name be befor I was born just so my name would fit me. Otherwize I would have been named Samuel. Everyone that knew me said it would be weird calling me Samuel, and I would have to agree with them.
If I could change my name I would change it to Scarlet because it sounds so graceful. I would change it because it is frustrating when people get your name wrong all the time. Changing my name wouldn't make me feel better about myself because my name is already beautiful and why change the name that was made just for. The name change would make me feel more confident that I don't have say "it's Holly not Hail or Halley." I am use to it. My name is a great conversation starter. It doesn't matter what other people think about it because it isn't their
As previously mentioned by my kind narrator, I am Samantha Junk. Before you ask, yes, my last name really is Junk. There is no reason behind my name, because my parents aren’t creative at all. They do often call me Mantha, but that is just a family nickname, my friends tend to call me Sam or just my name, Samantha.
When I was a little girl I always wanted a horse. Finally when I was ten I got my first horse. Dad surprised me with her. Her name is Penelope. I was really excited when I got Penelope. It took us awhile to name her. My dad picked Penelope and Alec and I agreed it was a good name.
I honestly do not know why, but I love the name Gianna! It is just a really majestic name to me! Gee-on-uhh! I LOVE IT! If I have a child someday, (and if it’s a girl) I wanna name her Gianna! Or maybe even Katana! :O I LOVE THAT TOO! <3 I don’t know why but I love those names. Maybe it’s just a faze… OOOH! I just thought of another name I like! Mable… maybe. Yeah, I think I’m going through a faze, because I used to love the names Payton and Riley, but I suggested the name Payton to my aunt and uncle, because they were having their second baby. And when they took the name Payton, I didn’t wanna name my kid that when I’m older, because I thought i’d be awkward. So now I like the names Katana and Gianna! I don’t know why I don’t like the name
I wanna make sure that you like the name because it will be his name for a long time,” My mom exclaimed.
My parents named me Carlo Rossi, naming me after my great, great grandfather Carlos Rossi who was an intelligent, rich and successful man. I grew up in the Northwest part of San Fierro with my parents and my twin sister in an average cozy San Fierro apartment house. Life felt like heaven at San Fierro, crime rates were low in my area, and I had many friends around the block with which I would play basketball on the street every afternoon after returning from school. My family was, and still is, in good shape and getting the best they can out of life.
My mother said that she give me the middle name Leigh, because there was really no other name that went well with Bradie. If my dad had had it his way, I name would be Ludmila after
I was named after my mom’s favorite T.V. show, “Days of Our Lives”. She loved the way Stefano, the girl’s father, said Alexandra. My mom also liked the nickname Lexy instead of Alexis or Alex.
On April 30th, 2002, when my parents arrived at the hospital, they did not know if they were having a boy or a girl. They had a name for both. At around 10:00pm that night, I was born and Sarah is my name! Sarah was chosen for specific reasons, has a beautiful meaning and a very interesting origin.
