School Start Times: How School Is Affecting Students

School start times mainly start as early as 7:30am, but starting too early is harming students. With later start times, students have a better chance at being more healthy. Scientist say that our brain is simply not ready to learn until 10 or 11 o'clock. They also say that with not enough sleep, problems start happening. If you don't get enough sleep, you have a higher risk of obesity. A previous study discovered a lack of sleep can drastically slow down metabolism down which causes the body to use less energy for simple tasks such as breathing or eating.
