In the article,” The Pros and Cons of Year-Round School” it states that by taking summer away that this could help the students have more time to understand the material. In addition, they say that by taking summer away it helps students not to forget anything that they learn the year prior. This shows that students could excel more in school if summer breaks were gone. Also in the article, “The Pros and Cons of Year-Round School” states that the summer break given to the students is too long. The students have almost nothing to do. Some do go on vacations, but not a lot do. This shows that this would be the prime opportunity to get rid of summer, and do a year round school. Sure people believe that this should happen, but is that really the right way to go

Do students get bored towards the end of summer? Do students forget what they learned from the school year before? Sarah attends a high school in Indiana, while Hannah goes to a high school in Illinois. Due to the year round schooling (YRS) in Indiana, Sarah has a shortened summer. Sarah receives two-three weeks off of school for winter break, fall break, and spring break. Once Sarah gets back from her breaks, her teacher has one day of review and moves on. Hannah does not have to go to school during the summer but only receives a week or two off here and there. When Hannah returns to start school after summer ends, her teacher takes two weeks to review what they learned the year before. The breaks for Sarah last a lot longer than they do for Hannah. The extensive summer break disconnected Hannah from school and she forgot everything. Year round schooling would benefit students because it would reduce negativity toward school and stress.

Year round schooling, the name seems much worse than it is. A typical belief of year round schooling is that students attend more days at school because they are in school a year long, but instead they break the long three-month break into smaller pieces. Year round schooling provides a more beneficial education to students of all ages. With the all year schedule students do not spend a long period away from the classroom; therefore, students are able to maintain their knowledge. Traditional schooling is still widely implemented among the United States even though the statistics are proven against it. Imagine, after being in school for 9 weeks you get 2-3 week break. Sounds nice doesn’t it? Well, this can happen. Many schools are switching to year round schooling. Florida should make the switch to it. Students won’t forget what they learned over summer break, and it helps teachers and students get more refreshed. Even though there are positives with implementing year round schooling. (On the other hand) Florida shouldn't make the switch because, it is hard to make schedules for sports, extracurricular activities, and your families schedules. Florida should still switch to year round schooling because there are many good things about it.

Year round school calendars aren’t the best idea we’ve had to improve our educational systems. This is just one of many ideas we’ve had. Year round schooling has affected families, students, and required maintenance in many negative ways.

Year round schooling is not beneficial for students and teachers because it can cause more stress, students get summer jobs, and people go on family trips and spend time with family and friends during summer break.

One reason we should not have year-round school is because it affects the kids. The main reason kids would not want year-round school is because it gets rid of a lot of their summer break. Instead of having a long two and a half to three-month break, they would be stuck with a measly one month. How the heck is that supposed to be fun? Another reason is because kids may want to have a job over the summer, and year-round school won’t let them do that. Another reason is because kids can learn things over summer break that they can learn in school. Some kids go to museums, or camps, or libraries over the summer, and they can learn a lot from these places.

Most importantly, students' education and health would benefit. Year-round schooling would allow students to move at their own pace. Students would also be able to retain information more easily because they won't have to remember what they learned over the long summer breaks. Lastly, a students' brain won't have nearly as much strain because students would be learning in a more structured schedule.

Do you think we should have year -round schooling? I say no to year round schooling. All we do in school is learn, and 8 months is more than enough time for students to learn. Kids would not be able to take a break in the summer and play.

Instead of missing a whole two months, the students would only miss two weeks after every four weeks.
