George Orwell is an amazing writer of the 20th century who is famous for his short stories and poems. In many of his essays, he seeks to entertain and educate the audience about a particular aspect of society. Among his best works include “Politics and the English Language” and “Shooting an Elephant”. These two stories are written very meticulously in order to show the audience how easily we as humans tend to change the things we say, along with our behavior due to others influence on us. The two essays share some similarities when it comes to their writing style, but differ greatly when it comes to their tone.

Thesis Statement: All of us have driven a vehicle before are and based on my survey results almost all of you have been distracted while driving, if not texted before. Today, we will learn about some of the outcomes of texting then we will discuss some of the solutions to permit these outcomes from happening.

Orwell has a critical, and didactical tone in his essay. He is criticizing the “modern” style of writing in which authors use overly complicated sentences and pretentious words and jargon to sound intelligent or like they know what they are talking out. He also tries to teach the reader how to avoid such mistakes in order to write clear and effective English, as well as how to identify when a politician is trying to manipulate language.

Due to George Orwell’s many successful works, he has remained a recognizable and respected author from his first moments of fame until now. Orwell’s novels and essays touch on aspects of government and human nature that will always remain relevant. With America’s changing values and controversial times, Orwell’s warning seem more relevant than ever and prove that with strong ideas, a novel can remain current beyond lifetimes.

Therefore, we want to inform you about three deadly distractions found with cell phone use. There are six variables with cell phone driving behaviors; all of which have a bleak end. According to researchers and predictors of distracted cell phone driving, Tian and Robinson (2016), “The data suggest that the attitude variable predicted intention to engage in all six distracted driving behaviors (reading and sending text message, making and answering cell phone calls, reading/viewing social media), and posting on social media while driving.” (para. 1). These behavior variables can lead to unsafe driving. Moreover, the law would be enforced on DWD violators.
