The Great Gatsby is a complex American classic written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The Great Gatsby takes place in the 1920’s Long Island and tells the story of Gatsby, a man who rose up in society to follow the dream of being with Daisy, a girl from his past. Written though the narrator Nick, Fitzgerald scrutinizes society though Nick’s descriptions and interactions with other characters. A significant way society is scrutinized was by Fitzgerald’s connection between morality and economic wealth. In the novel there are four distinct groups based on wealth.
