INTRODUCTION: This case involves the suspect stealing merchandise from the Sears Store in violation of PC 459.5(a)-Shoplifting. The suspect was also found to have drug paraphernalia in her possession in violation of H&S 11364(a). LOCATION DESCRIPTION: This incident took place at the Sears Store, which is a large business located at 3801 E. Foothill Boulevard. LOSS/RECOVERED: • (5) Levis Jeans • (11) US Polo shirts Loss/Recovered: $908.06 (see attached receipt) INVESTIGATION: On 06-13-17 at 1846 hours, I was dispatched to the Sears Store regarding a theft investigation. I looked inside of the vehicle and saw a black bag on the front passenger floorboard, which contained several jeans with the plastic security tags still attached. I had Jaramillo step out of the vehicle and handcuffed him pending further investigation. The handcuffs were double locked. Officer Calderon contacted the front passenger, later identified as Suspect Jocelyn Samantha Deras. I handcuffed and detained Deras. The handcuffs were double locked. Corporal Carey responded to the Sears Store and contacted Loss Prevention Officer Paez for a field Show-Up. Corporal Carey read Paez the PPD Field Show-Up Admonition from his card. Paez understood the admonition by saying, “Yes”. Corporal Carey transported Paez to my location where Deras was being detained. Officer Carey advised me that Paez positively identified Deras as the person who stole store merchandise from Sears. I showed Paez the items that were found in the black bag and he also confirmed the Sears’ stolen items. Paez advised me that Deras was alone in the Sears store as she stole the merchandise. I returned the stolen merchandise to Paez (see attached photos). Corporal Carey drove Paez back to the Sears store in order to itemize the stolen property. I located the vehicle and pulled behind it without my emergency lights activated and I made contact with both the female driver and passenger. Shortly after, Edwards arrived on scene and he suspected that the driver, identified as Taya
Castro said the male suspect was wearing a grey shirt, black shorts, and pushing a shopping cart. Castro said the female suspect was wearing a white top, dark shorts, and carrying a large TJ Maxx reusable shopping bag. Castro saw the suspects go to different sections of the store concealing items in their shopping bag. The suspects attempted to leave the store with the unpaid for items. Castro contacted the suspects at the front entrance of the store. Castro told the suspects to give the items back and the male suspect handed Castro the items and the female suspect dropped additional loss on the ground. Both suspects left on foot south on Lake Ave.
On December 20th at approximately 5:30 p.m. A Hispanic male and a Caucasian male walked out of the Galloway ShopRite with carts full of unpaid merchandise. The Hispanic male took approximately $323.20 and the Caucasian male took about $409.18 of unpaid goods. Store managers went after them, and were able to recover $72.90 in merchandise. The remaining of the stolen merchandise could not be recovered. Management immediately contacted store Security personal, Victoria Winder, who call the police and took pictures of the license plate of the Toyota 4Runner the individuals took off in. The suspects were later identified as William Terpak Jr. and Jocsan Moradel-Flores using ShopRite’s video surveillance.
On Monday August 08, 2016 I, Detective K. Holland #636 began reviewing this case file. The three listed suspects, Ramon Alvarado, Jose Blancas, and Hector Gatica were believed to be involved with burglarizing vehicles prior to their arrest. Since their arrest, victims had come forwards to report their vehicle was burglarized. Property belonging to Malinda Sims, (a Samsung cell phone), was returned to her by Officer Acosta. Sims also reported that $80-$100 was stolen from her vehicle. Officer Weaver advised that there was still electronic equipment inside the Dodge Avenger that was located at Brownwood Towing. A search warrant was sought for the Avenger, and it was signed by Judge Sam Moss. The search of the vehicle was occurred on 08/08/16
On 03/25/17 at approximately 1148 hrs, I heard OFC Christensen advise that he was enroute to Fuego for a possible robbery that had just occurred. OFC Christensen’s primary assignment is a Auburn Police Department Mall Officer, for the Outlet Collection Mall. The Mall is located is at 1101 Outlet Collection Way, which is located in the City of Auburn, County of King, and State of Washington. A few minutes later, OFC Christensen advised that the suspects were two young Hispanic Females and possibly a male. He also advised that the suspects were still inside the mall and that Mall Security and he were trying to locate them. Several Officers began responding the mall to assist OFC Christensen.
Officer Saunders, Officer Torres and I contacted Suspect Jose Guadalupe Arevalo at 13 W. Hammond Street. Arevalo told me the following information in summary: On 03-14-16 at approximately 0930 hours, Arevalo was reportedly approached by Parra in the rear parking lot behind his residence. Parra told Arevalo that he did not properly screw in her vehicle’s inner driver’s door panel.
On 26 June 2017 at 1516 hours, Officers were dispatched to the area of 305 East Penn Street for a theft of a vehicle. Officer were advised the actor was a Rhiannon Meyer and that she had stolen her dad Dodge truck green in color with a plow on the front. and was last seen heading towards Main Street. Officer began to check the area of Main Street, when Unit 191 called out with the vehicle at 100 Pennsylvania Ave, in Shenandoah Heights. Your Affiant (Patrolman William Moyer) along with Patrolman Tyler Dissinger responded to Unit 191 (Chief Livergood) location. At arrival Chief Livergood had MEYER in custody along with the stolen vehicle. MEYER'S was still yelling about someone having a gun in the window of the residence and was not making sense
I then ran to the men’s bathroom to assist Deputy George with the disturbance located inside. While en-route I observed multiple people running in and out of the restroom. Once inside the men’s restroom I observed two males that appeared to have been fighting Deputy George had the parties separated prior to my arrival. I then detained a Hispanic male later identified as Duilio Lopez and Deputy George detained Michael Pruitt. The suspects where then transported to our vehicle were we continued to conduct our investigation.
On 02-04-16 at approximately 1349 hours, Officer Cass #2067 and I responded to Arco gas Station located at 2171 N. Fair Oaks Avenue, Altadena in regards to a male and female arguing about $100.00. The incident occurred at 1518 N. Fair Oaks Avenue.
MUNGIN stated at approximately 1012 hours while working at Walmart store # 1383 in the city of Beaufort, she was called to the Grocery door in the front of the store where a customer was exiting the store without a receipt for two items that was located in the bottom of the shopping cart. Upon arrival, I Officer Alfaro contacted the complainant, later identified as Jeremy Brad Favies, DOB: 10/30/1976, TXDL# 15871089. At approximately 1915 hours, Pasco sheriff’s E. Reagan arrived to the office and took over the investigation. A copy of the video surveillance was saved in a thumb drive, and a photo of the suspect which was obtained from Ms. Austin’s Facebook and provided to Pasco sheriff’s Deputy E.
