The movie I decided to examine for themes in sexuality was Pit Stop, staring Marcus DeAnda, Bill Heck, and Amy Seimetz. It was a love story between two men that were unable to find love in other relationships. It was placed in a small town in Texas, where it seemed clear they have traditional values on sexuality. It follows two characters that have complicated relationships from their past. One man married a woman and had a child, he had to hide his sexuality. They continued to live together to raise their daughter after their divorce. They struggle throughout the movie to make their relationship work due to the love they still felt for each other. The other character in the movie followed was an openly gay man who lived with his ex-boyfriend. He also had an ex-lover who was in a comma, that they visited because he still loved him. The main characters find each other on a hook-up website, but both found more in each other. There were some reactions that I experienced when I watched this movie a couple times. The first time that I watched the movie, I thought it was sad and predictable. The very first scene shows the two men just missing each other at the Texas Market, than the rest of the movie was about their life being sad. I pretty quickly saw that the two would eventually run into each other and find the love they were missing in their life. It was sad to see that they were so unhappy in their lives.
