To become an owner of an accounting firm in New York has been a dream of mine since I can remember. Having the opportunity to shadow a person in my dream job I would have to make sure I had been well prepared for this experience. Before starting anything I would call and double check on the time in which I needed to arrive along with the date when it would be taking place. Starting on the preparations I would research the company and inform myself on the important facts. I would follow up with the assistant as well as make a list of questions I would like to ask when there. I would ask about the kind of clothing that should be worn during the time I would be shadowing as well as any other requirements they might need from me that day. Once
I shadowed Dr. Martin Skie at the University of Toledo Medical Center when I started contemplating a career as a physician. He is an orthopedic surgeon and I had the privilege to shadow during several surgeries, and throughout clinical rotations. I spent over fifty hours shadowing him over the course of a month. I also had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Zachary Ginsberg, an intensivist, in Kettering Medical Center’s intensive care unit. I was able to discuss the patients, their conditions, the lab results, imaging studies, medications, procedures, and the science behind the thought process while shadowing for over one hundred hours over several months. Both opportunities provided insight into different specialties and sparked my interest.Since
Also, to do good in an interview it is best to avoid dressing up inappropriately, having a low tone of voice or to being too loud and quick. On the other hand, to have a great interview people need to talk confident about themselves. Also, this is an opportunity to use the senior portfolio in order to show the interviewer more about you. For example, you may display your transcripts, activities and accomplishments. This way you will have a higher chance of being recommended. Another thing that would be better is to always smile and have examples to back up the statements you
Today I shadowed a registered nurse. I saw a variety of appointments. The first pt was in for a well child check up. The nurse recorded her vital signs and asked several safety concern questions about her lifestyle and home life. The pt also received a portion of the HPV vaccine. The HPV vaccine can cause fainting spells or an allergic reaction, so the pt had to wait 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine for observance purposes(S). Between each pt, the rooms were cleaned and a new sheet of paper was stretched out over the bed(IC). The next pt was a 6-week-old baby who had been hospitalized for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). RSV(D) is a common and very contagious virus that affects the respiratory tract. RSV in babies can lead to serious problems like breathing rapidly and cause the lips and fingernails to become cyanotic(MT1). The last pt has a history of repeated ear infections. The doctor suggested a
While volunteering at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard, California I had the opportunity to work alongside many allopathic physicians. Although many of these physicians were highly qualified, I always felt there was something missing. Shadowing Dr. Wolfsohn offered more than just a glimpse at physician related work and lifestyle. This experience allowed me to discover what I had seen missing in so many allopathic physicians. I call this missing piece, “the human side.” While working with Dr. Wolfsohn, I saw a repeating theme that strongly resonated with me. He treated the patient and not their disease. These patients received his methods well and appreciated his genuine concern as he treated them with dignity. In Dr. Wolfsohn’s office,
For my shadowing in a dental office, I chose to shadow at Crest Smile Shoppe. I chose here because my mom regularly goes here for herself and the team members there said I was more than welcome to come in their office and shadow whoever.
I chose to job shadow the equipment manager because I have helped them at one of their practices when I was younger. I really enjoyed doing it then, and I enjoyed doing it now. I just helped put bags and things away when I did it the first time, but when I came back to do it for my job shadow, there was a plethora of things to do. I job shadowed John, not only to be around football, but to help out at their games and practices.
While our superintendent is the chief fiscal officer for Hector School District, after six years with our district he just recently accepted a position with another school district, which will be effective in the next couple of weeks. Thus it has been very difficult to arrange an interview with him. Therefore, I interviewed the district business manager/district treasurer to learn her opinions regarding several aspects of the district budget. She is actually in charge of the oversight of the district’s monies, and she currently has the most experience with and knowledge of our district’s budget.
worked with senior citizens and I want to with premature babies and little children, it still helped
I stare fascinated as the doctor deftly slices through the patient’s flesh. Hands operate swiftly on the supine body; not a trace of doubt could be found in the movements.
You may be asking yourself what is a day like in grade school teachers life. I was curious of the same thing, which is why I chose to job shadow a Junior High School teacher/coach. I did my job shadowing experience with Chris Page, at Diboll Junior High. He works there as a seventh grade science teacher and a boys junior high athletics coach. This combination is very common in small school districts across Texas, that is, having a teacher double as an athletic advisor in their school system. I had the opportunity to experience this first hand recently and have had the chance to decide if this is what career I’d like to pursue.
After spending an entire day job shadowing the director of tennis at River City, I do not want to pursue this field of study. Before I began this job shadow, I knew that I did not want to go into this profession because I have dreams of working on Wall Street in New York City. I thought that job shadowing a tennis teaching professional would be a fun, and enjoyable, way to spend the day. Cy Lystilla, one of my tennis coaches, is the man who I job shadowed for this project. Throughout the day, I learned a ton of new information about his responsibilities as the director of tennis. If I would not have taken the time to job shadow Cy, I would have never known about all of the little tasks he has to complete before the end of his day.
My latest shadowing experiences included a variety of patients. One thing that stands out about my experiences shadowing Dr. Hart is the commitment of almost her entire day to her patients. She starts seeing acute care
Second, rumors are spread in school due to jealousy because some people want to intimidate others or they want to gain popularity. Similarly, people who jealous to other people professions can inspirit to spread rumors for their own advantage. According to the article “What Cost Charis Dussold His Dream Job?” The author explains, “one rumor had it that he was having sex with Ms.Peyla in his office” (Bartlett 351). Evidently, people started noticing the rumors, and they thought that Dussold was the only one who did this kind of stuff with someone, and people did not want to accept the truth of reality, but the situation was getting worse than it was. For example, in this article “Mr. Monaco had advised him to require every visitor to his office
The talents and skills that I can bring to the Landmark staff are dedication, personality, and my love for photography, I am an athlete and I know what it takes to be committed to a team! One of my talents is taking pictures. I love being able to snap a picture and later on look back on that moment and remember the good and challenging times in my life. My outgoing personality makes it easy to get to know people and
The area I am going to explore is to interview Ryan Connell that is an audio engineer for Chameleon Production. I would like to interview him and maybe even shadow him at one of his many gigs he has coming up, because he works at multiple venues and even with multiple bands, I will be able to gain more knowledge in this field. Some of the venues that Ryan has worked at include: Marquee, Birds Nest, Salty Senoritas, and even Copper Blues Bar. Ryan had also worked with the band Rocker Lobster, which is part of the Chameleon Production. He sets up at the venues and does the quality checks and make sure everything runs smooth. He also is a CNC programmer, CAD designer along with audio engineer. Some of the questions I may want to ask during the
