After the Beatles split, all four members were given complete artistic freedom without the fear of being criticized by the other three. While George Harrison was the first Beatle to hit it out of the park with All Things Must Pass, John Lennon was experiencing critical acclaim with the Plastic Ono Band. While the first recording featured such classic tunes as "Mother" and "God," it didn't spawn any hits for Lennon. However, his singles were giving his ex band mates a run for their money. Unlike Paul McCartney, John's music was personal, raw and exposed. Just five years before his murder, Shaved Fish was released in October 1975 to both critical and commercial success and became one of the first platinum records.
Essentially a greatest hits album, Shaved Fish featured some of Lennon's most prolific songs from his post-Beatle career. "Give Peace a Chance" was recorded during the Lennon's infamous 1969 bed in. It features John on the acoustic guitar and a smattering of tambourines while the crowd around the bed chants "all we are saying is give peace a chance." The guitar-driven "Cold Turkey" was released as a single in 1969 where John

John caught hell for use of the N-word despite his attempts to clarify that it wasn't about race. From the album of the same name, "Imagine" became Lennon's swan song as he promoted world peace. The ballad featured John on a grand piano and despite being produced by Spector, it had limited overdubs. The song would prove to be Lennon's best-selling single as a solo
It was argued that the song ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds ', was code for the hippy drug LSD. Though the band claimed it was based on a painting that Lennon 's son Julian had drawn. The fact that the group had admitted they 'd done the drug previously didn 't help their case, but they
After listening to the song, I can automatically tell what the message of the song is that Lennon is portraying, and that is world peace. Lennon does an amazing job establishing his credibility in this song, thus creating credibility within his audience, credibility is part of Ethos. Throughout his musical career right up until his death in 1980, Lennon was heavily involved in peace activities. During his musical career he was part of the world famous Beatles, and this gained him world fame and allowed for his messages to be heard across the world. Lennon created even more Ethos for himself in a controversial album, where he posed naked with his wife, Yoko Ono, in there bed. This showed his fan base and the world that he was truly devoted to peace and love. Without his famous involvement in the Beatles, Lennon would never have gained his spotlight in the world allowing for his messages of peace and love to be heard. His ethos was within his people, not where he got his ideas. Lennon felt what the world felt, and thus his credibility.
The Beatles are one of the most innovative rock bands of all time. They have not only changed the way rock and roll is looked at, but also the way that the music is recorded. They have influenced the artists of the 60s and the 70s, and also many generations later and to come. Originating from Liverpool, England, the Beatles, or the Fab Four, consists of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Topping the charts in ’63 with “Love Me Do,” and bringing in the highest rated viewing in history while performing on the Ed Sullivan Show, the Beatles are definitely a band that broke the sound barrier of rock
Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard-of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture started by an ensemble of four shaggy-haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no one can deny that no greater event impacted today's pop culture than "Beatlemania". But not everyone has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did they make it big? What's the story of their struggle?

Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, the band began to start disagreeing. The Beatles self-titled album, better known as the White Album, became the album with the most songs produced, with thirty songs all together. A majority of the songs were written while the band was in India, with a few written after, once back in London. In this album, McCartney’s songs were written on the guitar, instead of his usual piano. All the songs recorded used four-track recording, with most having double-tracked acoustic guitar with double-tracked unison voices; however a few songs used a single guitar, and a few others used harmonium and organ, and addition of electric guitar, bass, and percussion. The recording of this album is notorious for being the one made with the most animosity between members. This album saw a split between Lennon and McCarthy, that was partly due to Lennon’s relationship with Yoko Ono, where each of their patience was tested multiple times by each other, saw Starr leave the studio for some time because McCarthy’s decision to play a part of “Back in the USSR” on the drums that Starr could not quite get, only to return to the studio when begged to go back to film promo, and saw songs recorded solo because of disagreements of creative direction. Not only did the Beatles have issues, but also the recording staff. Longtime producer, George Martin had to take a three-week break during sessions and left one-time producer Chris Thomas in
1963 proved to be the beginning of the Beatles phenomenon with the release of their hit “Please Please Me”. This hit topped the British charts early in 1963 and remained there for 30 weeks (Unterberger, 2005). The Beatles continued evolving rock by adding a unique style of their own and continuously trying new ideas and adding a new flare to their music. Each of the albums showed a progression of the artists.
up in 1970. Lennon went on to record solo albums and with his wife, Yoko Ono.
There have been many people, known as artists, who have tried to change the world through their art. “Art” can be paintings, music, dances, sculptures, literature, or photography. There are many ways to communicate and express ones feelings but The Beatles did it through their popular music. Although they didn’t focus on changing the world of politics or try to protest through their music they have songs that focus on those exact two things.
"Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," recorded in 1967, is to date the number one Rock and Roll album ever recorded. Sgt. Pepper's is considered to be the first concept album. There are many things that brought about the creation of The Beatles most influential album. Before The Beatles began the recording process of Sgt. Pepper's they had retired from touring. This gave the group ample time to experiment with different instruments, recording techniques and drugs. The album cover also sparked a revolution in itself. Many bands took notice of the creative elements of Sgt. Pepper's and learned from them.
Gaining some popularity with a few hit singles, the Beatles slowly started their climb to the top. It wasn 't until they
The song “imagine” was written in a period of war and more specific in the 70s when the war of Vietnam was taking place. John lennon pathos’ main concern is to show to the audience how the world will look much better if people live in peace and away from any crisis and conflicts as he said, “Imagine all the people living in peace”.
