Building Materials: We selected the vendor Belletetes Lumber who was suggested to us by our customer George Rickley. He and the owner Jack Belletetes have a personal and business relationship. The only constraint for the materials was the packaging. All the materials had to be palletized, wrapped or bundled, so they could be carried across the harbor in the sling from the helicopter. Plumbing and Electrical Supplies: The customer picked all the brands and styles of materials. The rest of the materials list was provided through the architectural plans. The electrician and the plumber obtained all the materials through their suppliers. Delivery Company: We initially sought to move the building materials and debris across the harbor by barge and crane. However, that proved more time consuming and costly. The ledges around the island prevented the barge from getting close enough to the house. We conducted a search over the internet and selected …show more content…
The only constraints were the location of the dumpsters. After meeting with the owner of the fisherman’s Co-op we decided on a location that was out of the way for their customers yet accessible for our contractors. Transportation: The Sheepscot Bay Boat Company was suggested as a possible solution for transportation of the contractors across the harbor by George Rickley. The only constraints were created by the limit of two rental boats. The contractors had to communicate their schedule between each other to coordinate the crossing of the harbor. One boat had to be on each side of the harbor so people could cross from either side at all times. Parking: The contractors parked in the local parking lots. The only constraints were not to block access to the pier and be respectful to the property and the people. The link below is to the MS Project PDF file for the project resource
The Old Granary Building in Boston was finally chosen because it had “the only loft in the city large enough for the task” (Legend 54). It took 257.5 yards of twenty-inch wide canvas to make one complete set of sails (Legend 51). Sail canvas and hemp were imported from England and Pennsylvania to supplement the supply in Massachusetts (Material). Other supplies imported from England include bunting, bolts, a galley stove, and some of the copper used to plate the hull of the U. S. S. Constitution to prevent water from seeping in

By 1856, much shipping activity was occurring along the wharf of Redwood City (City of Redwood City 1999, 2). As development continued, the port of Redwood City was moved further towards the Bay to its present location (City of Redwood City, 1999 3). A deep-water channel was dredged, to serve the Leslie Salt Company, the Pacific-Portland Cement Company, and the Alaska Codfish Company (City of Redwood City 1999, 3). In the 1920’s Leslie Salt Company diked off land from the Bay to be used as salt evaporation ponds (Horii 2000, 1). In the 1930’s the channel was widened, a wharf was built, and by 1937 the channel was ready to handle cargo (City of Redwood City 1999, 4). The operations at the Port were successful, and was used during WWII by the U.S. Navy for docking ships (City of Redwood City 1999, 4). By 1942, the Frank Tanning Company owned land east of the salt ponds, the U.S. 101 was built close to the shoreline, and most of the former marsh areas were contained by levees (City of Redwood City 2003,

In this case, Burov likely knew that children would trespass on his property because children live in the neighborhood, the city attracts tourists during the summer, and the hot tub is not fenced. Like in Bennett, where the property owner knew that a new neighbor and his children moved next door, Burov stays at his parents’ property every summer and is familiar with the neighborhood families and recreations. In addition, even if the facts do not reveal that Burov knew that children live in the neighborhood, he knows that a beach is near the house and families take their children there to play and enjoy the summer. Moreover, in Bennett, where the distance between the owner’s property and his neighbor was 100 yards, Beach Lane a main road in
Plaintiff applied for a position as a truck driver with Landstar Trucking Company. Landstar is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Landstar indicated to the plaintiff that he would be hired once it received a background report from Usher Transport. The background report indicated he had tested positive for a controlled substance in the last three years and had been arrested on the job. The plaintiff should have known that his actions will be brought to light once he tried to get employment later. He can not sue his former employer for reporting his actions during his time employed with the company. Defamation is the publication of a statement by one person about another that damages his reputation. So his former employer did not use any
