For example it is important to know how to deal with students with ADHD, autism, or disruptive children. Goals for me as a teacher include being attentive to the students needs, promoting consistent structure with play, and to encourage empathetic teaching like questions such as, “ Why do you think he is sad?” Also, attending to signs of trauma and providing support to children with an excess amount of stress is
I hope that when I am a teacher that the kids will learn from me that learning can be fun and not a task. That there is so much to learn about that you should never be bored with learning. If they leave my class room knowing about that and the curriculum needed to succeed in my particular grade and subject. Than I accomplished everything that I wanted to.

Overall, Beaumont’s demographics display the characteristics of a more traditional small city. Compared to state averages, Beaumont’s average household income falls just short. In terms of race, the town is composed of a majority of blacks, with whites not far behind. Finally, the gender of the town can be viewed as generally balanced. While there are only 117,585 citizens, they all possess unique qualities, backgrounds, and levels of education that contribute to Beaumont’s
Teachers never have enough time to accomplish all of the things that they are responsible for during a day. However, it is important for them to have personal performance goals formulated around managing, engaging, and growing students. Establishing goals and working on them systematically throughout the school year with guidance from administration allows for professional growth throughout the school building. One of my many take-aways from the book Leverage Leadership was that great teachers use data driven instruction, receive a lot of feedback, and consistently focus on short and long-term performance goals (Bambrick-Santoyo, 2012).

My personal objectives for teaching is to connect the dots for the students when they learn new things and find ways to integrate what they knew and continuing to learn (Moran, Burson & Conrad,
During our last season, I sat down with the tuba section and we discussed short and long term goals for the season, both as individuals and for the section. My students were incredibly excited with our goals, that we collaborated as a team to individual weekly goal. On my own, I wrote out a chart for the goals so that each week, I could update my section on their progress. (Standard 4. Assessment, Element 1. The teacher candidate designs, selects, and implements valid, reliable, and appropriately differentiated assessments that are aligned with short and long term goals). This experience influenced my perception on education greatly because it allowed me to witness my students setting their own personal goals, and then with my instruction, they worked diligently to achieve their goals. In the future, I will use goals through assessment. Assessment can allow students to forget what their education is about, but my mission is to allow assessment to help students achieve their personal goals in the
In closing my goals as an dance educator is to uplift, inspire, and build community with others. I want my teaching to be influential to my students simply because that's what ALL my teachers have done for me and I feel a strong responsibility to keep this going. Although, this is just my beginning I wish to change lives through dance by offering my students a wonderful and amazing dance experience that we can create
I have made it a goal of mine throughout high school to keep my GPA above a 3.9 while taking more than one AP, honors, or CE class each year and to get a full ride to an honorable college. As for professional goals, my intent with becoming a teacher is to be able to aid in the lives of students and help them be able to see the amazing world of history and the things it can teach them, that nothing else can. With how much my history teacher has helped me, I want to pass that help on to another student and change their life. I want to get students to see all that they have been blessed with and how much heartache and struggle it has taken to get to this point. I want the next generation to be more aware of their blessings and to be grateful for the people who have provided them with everything. I have worked on learning these things for myself first and working on my teaching abilities so I will be able to convey my thoughts clearly and in a way that allows people to see how truly blessed we are and how we got to this
The positive experiences that I had as a student and substitute teacher have influenced me to become a teacher. My goal is to give children a positive experience in education by providing an environment that is warm and relatable. I want them to love learning like I do. My wish is to help children to feel supported, regardless of their race, ethnicity, culture, religion, class, or gender. I want students to love learning as well by making it interesting and relatable.
Short term goals for future development are focused on play therapy and family involvement. As a play therapist, I want to continue to learn and master techniques for non-directive play therapy. Additionally, I would like to Although I have evolved over the semester to involving the parents more in sessions than I had before, it is still a goal to get more of the parents involved and learning how to do non-directive play with their children.
The small island of Alameda, located in Northern California, has a total population of 76,733 people, according to the United States Census. In relation to sex, the female populace controls the majority with 51.5% (Census). To assess the racial demographics of Alameda, I used the social explorer tool to create a map which revealed a lack of diversity. Nearly all of Alameda is dominated by the White race with the exception of the West End, where citizens are predominantly Asian (cite). Thus, minorities, including African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians, and Pacific Islanders are greatly underrepresented in this city. This racial imbalance negatively shapes the lives of the minority citizens because they can feel socially unwelcome.
Our center has a detailed emergency plan and we review it every six months unless a situation arises in between. There is a reminder at the top of my calendar so that we don’t forget to check and be sure if something needs to be changed. The chain of command does change if I am not present and it is listed step by step so the aide knows what to do. There is also a list of community resources in case we need to evacuate for any reason.
Levi has finally gotten out of his “shy” stage. He now interacts with children at his preschool without having any problems. Often times, Levi is the leader of the group when it comes to playtime. I was delighted to hear that his leader position Levi has stepped into has not been a problem. The specialist that evaluated Levi James thought that he had a likable personality and that I should allow Levi to have playdates with other children from his preschool. In the past, Levi made it difficult to leave him at his daycare. Now, he gets excited about seeing the other children at his preschool. When I decided to approach Levi to explain that it was no longer acceptable to throw tantrums when I left him at daycare, I simply told him he could not
I asked for the teachers educational goals and wasn’t surprised that our goals shared some of the same objectives. In terms of teaching she wanted to provide the best education possible and go over and beyond the call of duty to make that a reality, without excuses. Should a student need additional tutorial assistance due to performing below grade level she would set up a schedule to make those accommodations.
