“My car shrunk.” Richard said immediately after William opened his door. “What?” Richard rolled his eyes, “Come with me.” William looked infuriated while following Richard to where the shrunken car was parked. The sky was a dark blue that bled onto everything in sight; like a black light shining down on the whole street. It was the type of February morning cold that clawed onto one’s skin, causing a galling sensation that intensified when inhaling. It was still early enough that no lights were on in any of the houses, just street lamps. Despite how dark, cold, and early it was; Richard had no problem bothering his next-door neighbor. “See? His hand covered his face, hiding what almost seemed to be a smile. Then William got on his knees and looked. “I don’t know what you want me to say. I’m not exactly an expert at what your engine looks like.” “Just look at the inside hood. You know I carved my initials there.” “Yes; I know you carved your initials there, like every other normal person,” William said sarcastically. “Yeah, and there it is,” he said, oblivious to the sarcasm, “Now you tell me, how would that be there if this wasn’t my car? I mean, that’s weird, right?” “That’s,” William paused, “sure, it’s weird. But it isn’t proof.” “Dude, it’s so obviously my car. How are you this blind? Whatever, just watch this.” Richard proceeded to point his car remote at the tiny vehicle. Both William and Richard were still on their knees. “No way,” William said. Richard pressed the lock button on his remote, and the tiny car made a faint but distinct beeping sound. “What’d I tell you? This is my car,” Richard said emphatically as one would when winning an argument. “This is too unreal.” “I know, right? The only thing I don’t get is that the unlock button doesn’t work.” “I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I don’t find it that odd that your unlock button doesn’t work.
