Short Term Goals

One short-term goal that I have is to graduate from high school. I will need to do all of my work and do my best in all of my classes to accomplish that goal.

While in high school I plan to maintain a 3.5 GPA or greater while staying involved and prospering in the sports and activities I practice. In the winter I plan to go to State in Knowledge bowl and go to State and possibly the National DECA tournament as well. The success in these activities will lead colleges and companies to be more attracted to me so I can later get jobs easier and get scholarships to reduce college debt later. Because I have identified several tools given to me – and that I am aware of my purpose, I can now set goals. My most immediate short-term goals as a college student include: becoming proficient at balancing my time well, soaking up the information that I am being taught, making great grades, serving my community, traveling and studying abroad, and attaining internships and scholarships.

The goal i have set to achieve for the rest of High School is to pass all my classes, get good grades, and be able to graduate and go on to college.

In my near future, I am leaning towards attending the University of Indianapolis mainly because of the strong DPT program they offer to their students. I have been accepted and have had the honor of being a direct admission into the DPT program offered at the University of Indianapolis. I found my career choice with my mixture of strong academic and athletic performances. I have plenty of first person accounts of rehabilitation to muscles and bones from sports injuries, and I have become curious about other types of injuries that a physical therapist would encounter outside of sports injuries. At the University of Indianapolis, I plan on majoring in Biology and excelling in all my courses, especially my prerequisites.

I am 54 years old, living the single life. I live in a household with one other adult, and I am a full-time student and currently a part-time employee. Based on my current situation (Older, Single, No Dependent Children), therefore, my financial activities should include making arrangement for long-term health care coverage, develop an estate plan, purchase an appropriate insurance plan, and develop an investment program for retirement. My first long-term goal is to obtain a position as a Kindergarten teacher in the Twin Falls School District. In order to complete this goal, I will need to successfully fulfill the following short-term goals: finish the Elementary Education Program here at the College of Southern Idaho, transfer to Idaho State University, graduate from the Elementary Education Program, receive my teacher’s certification from the State of Idaho, and secure a teacher’s position.

Some short terms goals I have is to earn a 4.0 for my last semester in high school and make my school’s varsity tennis team in the spring. I want to earn a 4.0 for my last semester in high school because I want to do all that I can to improve my cumulative grade point average and it will encourage me to continue being a scholar. One short-term goal that I want to achieve is to go on a small family vacation this summer. I am taking this summer off from school, I will have extra free time to spend with my daughter. I have not taken very vacations with my daughter this is something that I would like to change. How I can ensure that I achieve this goal is to put aside money in a savings account. I can request the time off ahead of time. I can plan where I want to ahead of time to save money.

My short term goal is to be able to work independently and receive an outstanding feedback from my team after a review of my work.
