Jason Walker VS Odysseus Being a Hero

A hero is a bright light in a dark place that stands on the darkness, they are a spec of hope in place that is full of misery. By basic definition a hero is a person that is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, and their noble qualities. Two people may have earned such title are Odysseus, from Homer’s book The Odyssey and by Brandon Mull character Jason Walker. While Odysseus may be a awesome hero, it is clear that Jason Walker is more deserving of that title.

It is true Odysseus is a hero because he is brave, strong, and intelligent but it is clear Jason Walker is a far better hero than Odysseus.To start, Odysseus is a hero because he is bave.According to the text, The Odyssey by (Homer p.48) Odysseus, the sly fox, sails to Scylla which no one sails to because she is deadly. …show more content…

Next, Odysseus is a hero because he is strong. According to the text, The Odyssey by (Homer p.) “Her vast tentacles whirl the water around, and her bulbous, octopus eyes stared greedily up, waiting for me to fall. But I held on and waited for one hour, then another, and she sucked the whirlpool in.” This shows that Odysseus is strong because it takes tremendous strength to hold onto a tree branch for a few hours while a monster sucks in water, trying to get you to fall in. Lastly, Odysseus is intelligent.According to the text, by (Homer p.16) “It was Odysseus who thought up the idea. With Athene’s help, the Greek carpenter Epeius built an enormous wooden horse.” This show that Odysseus is like a Albert Einstein, because he saved a lot of Greek lives and ended the 10 year long
